Final Fantasy I, II, and III Coming to Steam

SQUARE ENIX® today announced FINAL FANTASY I, II and III are coming to Steam® and mobile platforms on July 29. The pixel remaster series brings all the magic of the originals combined with quality-of-life upgrades while staying faithful to the retro design of these masterpieces. Fans can look forward to enjoying a host of updates including:

  • Redrawn 2D pixel character and background graphics, featuring iconic FINAL FANTASY character pixel designs created by Kazuko Shibuya, the original artist and current collaborator
  • Beautifully rearranged soundtracks, overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu
  • Improved gameplay, including controller and touch controls, modernized UI, auto-battle options, and more
  • Dive into the world of the game with supplemental extras like the bestiary, illustration gallery, music player, and the ability to save at any time

Looking back at the long history of the beloved series, the “Father of FINAL FANTASY” Hironobu Sakaguchi states, “When working on the originals, I didn’t think that the FINAL FANTASY series would be remastered almost 35 years later. The video game industry had only just been established. So, with nobody else leading the way, we had to keep moving forward at the front line. I remember how we went through a lot of trial and error at that time. I’m very happy and grateful that Final Fantasy has continued for such a long period of time.” FINAL FANTASY Brand Manager and FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Producer Yoshinori Kitase adds, “Every time a new Final Fantasy title is released, I think there are those who want to return to the origin of the series. This project began because we wanted to create a convenient way for fans and new players to enjoy these original classics, with consistent graphics and a unified user interface.” Further, in regard to the renowned soundtrack of the FINAL FANTASY series, series composer Nobuo Uematsu also confirmed, “We are rearranging all the music tracks this time. One of the first ideas I had was to make sure to stay faithful to the originals, but of course I couldn’t just leave it in the original 3-tone sound, so they have been built up into full-scale tracks. I have made sure that the original atmosphere has been retained and each can be listened to as separate music pieces, so that fans can enjoy.”

Those who pre-purchase the titles on Steam® will receive two exclusive wallpapers, three music tracks, and 20% discount per each respective title. All six titles are also available for pre-purchase as the FINAL FANTASY I-VI Bundle for a further discount. More information on the bundle is available on Steam at: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/21478.

Fishing: North Atlantic Out Now on Xbox One and PS4

Don those chest waders and carefully study that compass, because today, independent developer Misc Games proudly announced that its hit simulation title Fishing: North Atlantic is now available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4! Console players eager to get into the nitty-gritty of what it takes to be a commercial fisherman can now do so — without potentially falling overboard! Just don’t forget that the crew’s lives and livelihood are still on the line, and there’s nothing fishy about following safety procedures while at sea!

“We couldn’t be happier with the console versions of Fishing: North Atlantic,” said Yasemin Hamurcu, COO at Misc Games. “When the game initially launched on PC last year, there was significant demand from the community to bring the title to consoles as well. Today was a long time coming, and I’m certain our fans will love the work we’ve done to make Fishing: North Atlantic a joy to play on their preferred platform. It’s time to dive in and get to business!”

As the sequel to the popular fishing simulator game Fishing: Barents Sea, Fishing: North Atlantic is set off the coast of Nova Scotia where the ocean is boundless, unpredictable, and swimming with tuna, swordfish, and crawly crustaceans. You’re invited to take on the role of captain, where they are responsible for commanding a crew of fellow anglers keen on heading back to port with a bounty of fish, crab, and lobster. This is one of the most dangerous careers in the world, where ocean swells are as rife with danger as they are riches. It’s up to you to monitor GPS and sonar signals for fish habitats, avoid brutal storms when possible, and order the crew to toss deep line buoys and crab pots overboard at the appropriate moments. So, be sure to meticulously look over those maps, because this is as real as it gets. You Betta believe it.

Key Features of Fishing: North Atlantic:

  • True to Life Detail: Every island, inlet, harborfront, and rocky crag is meticulously crafted after real-world map data of Nova Scotia. Being one of Canada’s maritime provinces means players will have their hands full when it comes to navigating and exploring this vast open world.
  • Ship-Shape Vessels Abound: With over 27 different ships to choose from, all of which are based on real vessels, players will have loads of options to choose from when it comes to picking a boat of their own. There’s even officially licensed equipment from Hermes, Scanmar, and Skipasyn to be found throughout the bridges!
  • Hooks ‘n Lines: Catching swordfish is quite a bit different from trapping lobsters. Which is why harpooning, trawling, deeplining, and many more fishing techniques are part of the game. Players will learn all the ins and outs of what it takes to be a commercial fisherman
  • When it Rains, it Pours: Part of the captain’s duties is to ensure the crew isn’t needlessly trying to haul up crab pots in the middle of a thunderstorm, which is why it’s important for players to monitor GPS and weather conditions to make sure everyone aboard can work safely

Published and developed by Misc Games, Fishing: North Atlantic is available now for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC via Steam for $34.99 USD, and Xbox One with a limited-time launch discount for $29.99 USD. Learn more at https://fishingnorthatlantic.com.

CORSAIR Unveils New Full-Tower 7000 Series Cases

CORSAIR®, a world leader in enthusiast components for gamers, creators, and PC builders, today announced a new series of full-tower ATX cases to accommodate the biggest, most ambitious enthusiast builds: the CORSAIR 7000D AIRFLOW and the CORSAIR iCUE 7000X RGB. Available in black and white, both 7000 Series cases feature a mammoth interior for maximum cooling potential, accommodating multiple radiators – up to three 360mm or two 420mm simultaneously. Exceptional airflow comes courtesy of included 140mm PWM fans featuring CORSAIR AirGuide technology, while the popular CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management system helps you easily create tidy, professional-looking builds.

Choosing from either the 7000D AIRFLOW’s perforated steel high-airflow front panel, or the 7000X RGB’s three beautiful tempered glass windows to showcase your system and lighting, PC enthusiasts will find the ideal case for their next masterpiece.

The cavernous interior of 7000 Series cases offers a multitude of cooling configurations to handle almost any PC cooling setup, with room for up to 12x 120mm or 7x 140mm cooling fans, or multiple radiators including up to 3x 360mm or 2x 420mm simultaneously. A specialized motherboard tray with customizable fan mounts enables you to install up to four 120mm fans or up to a 480mm radiator into the side of the case.

The 7000D AIRFLOW includes three 140mm fans with CORSAIR AirGuide technology, for concentrated airflow directed toward your PC’s hottest components. The 7000X RGB goes a step further and adds radiant RGB lighting with four included SP140 RGB ELITE AirGuide fans, each equipped with eight individually addressable RGB LEDs. An included iCUE COMMANDER CORE XT controller, CORSAIR iCUE software, and a PWM fan repeater provide comprehensive control of not only lighting, but fan speed and performance too. Both the 7000D AIRFLOW and 7000X RGB offer an abundance of storage space including 6x combo 2.5in / 3.5in drive trays and 3x 2.5in SSD mounts. A full array of front panel I/O connections including a USB 3.1 Type-C port and 4x USB 3.0 ports ensures the 7000 Series meets the needs of nearly any system.

The 7000 Series’ tempered glass window showcases your premium components, while the case cleverly conceals your cables. The CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management system routes major cables through a single hidden channel, with a spacious 30mm of routing depth behind the motherboard and two tool-free hinged side panels for easy access. A three-slot vertical GPU mount on the PSU shroud puts any size graphics card center stage.

The spacious interior of both 7000 Series cases is optimal for housing the new CORSAIR H170i ELITE CAPELLIX Liquid CPU Cooler. With a massive 420mm radiator, three ML140 RGB PWM fans, and an eye-catching RGB pump head, the H170i ELITE CAPELLIX is the highest performing all-in-one cooler from CORSAIR to-date. Its extreme cooling performance is powered by a low-noise centrifugal pump, generating less than 20 dBA. A split-flow copper cold plate rapidly absorbs heat from your CPU, while the ML140 RGB fans spin up to 2,000 RPM to disperse that heat after it reaches the radiator.

This top-tier performance is complemented by dynamic RGB lighting from 33 ultra-bright, power-efficient CAPELLIX LEDs in the pump head and eight individually addressable RGB LEDs per ML140 RGB fan. With the incredible customization offered by the included CORSAIR iCUE COMMANDER CORE Controller and powerful CORSAIR iCUE software, you can put the spotlight on your cooling. The H170i ELITE CAPELLIX is compatible with almost every modern Intel® and AMD CPU, including LGA 1200, 115X, 2066, and AM4 sockets.

With the launch of the 7000 Series, ORIGIN PC is adding the 7000D AIRFLOW and 7000X RGB cases to its award-winning line of GENESIS custom PCs. Boasting the highest-end hardware, from Intel Core™ i9 and AMD Ryzen™ CPUs to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30-Series graphics, ORIGIN PC’s GENESIS line of desktops combines superpowered specs with maximum customization, letting you configure your dream PC just the way you want.

GTFO Gets Rebirth://EXTENDED Update

10 Chambers — a Swedish game development studio composed of industry veterans known for PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2 — is excited to announce today the launch of a new title update for its popular cooperative horror shooter GTFO on Steam: “Rebirth://EXTENDED”. The latest GTFO update (dubbed Rundowns) expands upon the “Rebirth” Rundown which was released in late April 2021, adding five new expeditions for a total of thirteen unique missions. Also included in the Rundown update is a new game objective which tasks players with surviving relentless enemy hordes as they fight tooth and nail to progress through expeditions before a 30-minute timer runs out, all the while solving complex tasks like hacking computer terminals to clear their path.

Described as “Left 4 Dead meets Aliens,” GTFO is a terrifying, hardcore cooperative multiplayer shooter where good teamwork means the difference between life and death. The game uses a concept called Rundowns, which are regular game updates that add new limited-time expeditions (maps, scenarios, enemies, etc.) that completely replace the previous Rundown. Cast in a four-player team of prisoners held against their will by a mysterious entity called The Warden, survival depends on a team’s ability to communicate, coordinate, and manage their ammunition — else they doom themselves to a bloody, messy death. To The Warden, they’re all expendable.

Rebirth://EXTENDED is GTFO’s biggest Rundown to date, acting as the game’s latest major title update ahead of a full 1.0 launch out of Steam Early Access later this year. The previous GTFO update set the stage for Rebirth://EXTENDED by adding a new fauna-filled map called Floodways and by introducing artifacts which players can redeem for ability-buffing injections aptly named Booster Implants. 10 Chambers will reveal its ambitious plans for GTFO Version 1.0 and what exciting improvements players can expect to the game in the coming months.

“The beauty with the Rundown concept is that we can throw new challenges at our community with every new one and see how they are received. The community can always be excited for what will come next, and it is also more fun for us to develop. It keeps us on our creative toes. The new ‘horde objective’ will require some high level of stress management from our Prisoners,” said Simon Viklund, Narrative Director and Composer of GTFO.

“We have fleshed out a pretty extensive list of features we want available in GTFO as a Version 1.0 game; we have always wanted the Version 1.0 launch to be felt. The transition from Early Access to Version 1.0 will be noticed in this game – and we feel confident that this transition will happen this year,” said Ulf Andersson, Creative Director of GTFO.

GTFO released on Steam in Early Access in December 2019 and is available for purchase for $34.99. To celebrate the launch of the Rebirth://EXTENDED update — which is free to owners of the game — GTFO is on a limited-time sale for 20% off. To purchase the game, please visit: https://store.steampowered.com/app/493520/GTFO.
