Today, Eidos-Montréal released two new videos for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, each featuring insights directly from Senior Gameplay Director Patrick Fortier. In the first video, Fortier hones in on how the Guardians synergize in battle, while the second focuses on how players can lead the Guardians outside of it.
Just as they all have their own distinct personalities out of combat, each Guardian similarly boasts their own unique specialties and abilities on the battlefield, with their strategic management proving paramount for players hoping to take down the vast array of different enemies they’ll encounter while adventuring through the cosmos. Rocket serves as the group’s multi-target explosive specialist, Groot as its protector and healer, Drax as its staggering wrecking ball, Gamora as its high-damage single-target assassin, and Star-Lord as, of course, its versatile “so-called” leader.
In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, players won’t only have the opportunity to lead the Guardians in combat. As seen in the second video, they’ll also be responsible for steering their teammates in the right direction while journeying to and from a plethora of iconic Marvel locations on the Milano. Making choices (and dealing with the consequences) is a core part of being a leader, and it’s similarly at the core of the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy experience, from deciding how to approach a conversation, to allocating ability points, to choosing between comic-accurate and original outfits, and beyond.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be available on PlayStation®5 console, PlayStation®4 console, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, PC, and streaming via GeForce NOW on October 26, 2021. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version for Nintendo Switch also coming to select regions October 26.

Stunlock Studios today have published their latest dev blog in which Creative Director Martin Lövgren and Game Director Peter Ilves were consulted about what to expect when playing their open-world vampire survival game, V Rising, coming to PC on Steam with the Beta coming later this year. This Dev blog is full of information regarding the building of your castle – the base of all your vampiric operations and the foundation of your dark empire, hunting, combat and the importance of blood.
In the wake of the latest gameplay trailer, this Dev blog explores the setting and core mechanics that you will need to conquer in order to amass a vampire empire. Unlike in typical survival games, in V Rising you play as a vampire returning to greatness while hunting to survive and satisfy your sanguineous needs. Stalk the night and tactically plan your kills to brave the hostile world, crafting weapons and tools to appease your primal desires. As a vampire, blood is everything:
“Vampire society is an engine that runs on blood, and in the world of V Rising, that is perhaps more true than in many other vampire-themed games. Blood isn’t just what the undead drink to sustain themselves, but like veins running through a body, blood pumps through every aspect of what makes an unholy empire… In this game, you’re a predator. The focus on harvesting prey to advance your abilities is essential to living that fantasy, and you’ll find yourself cutting through endless enemies as you claw your way to the top”
Sharpen your fangs and get ready to rule the twilight as V Rising enters Beta in 2021. Sign up for the V Rising Beta and Newsletter here: http://www.playvrising.com

Forthright Entertainment today announced that it has published the 2.0 release for its open-world survival-horror game Jaws of Extinction onto Steam Early Access and the Epic Games Store. Developed by KYE Creations, Jaws of Extinction first came to Early Access in 2019. The huge 2.0 release is the title’s most significant update yet, delivering new features to die for – or survive with, such as new starting scenarios and an in-depth building system – as well as dozens of quality of life improvements.
Jaws of Extinction strands players on Eden-Nadir, an island swarming with mindless infected inhabitants. The difference between life and death in this dangerous world could be fighting off parasitic-infected hordes, outwitting vicious wildlife, or overcoming extreme weather. To help navigate these hazards, players can choose from a range of four distinct protagonists each with their own backstory and specialism allowing survivors to master essential skills such as scavenging, trading, crafting and hunting – all in the name of making it through just one more night. Working with the island’s living inhabitants is the only way to reach safety. But not all of the islanders can be trusted as the game weaves a spellbinding narrative across its mysterious open-world that will leave players second-guessing every decision they make.
The 2.0 update introduces a stack of features into Jaws of Extinction and improves upon existing mechanics. These additions include starting scenarios to challenge new and returning survivors, revised shooting and melee mechanics, and more detailed infected models to test improved combat. A modular base building system also allows players extensive control to create their stronghold out in the wilderness. Plus, the island of Eden-Nadir has received a graphical overhaul making the expansive map more beautiful and more dangerous than ever.
Update Features:
A modular base-building system that allows players to construct settlements
New interactable NPCs, including traders
A redesigned Eden-Nadir adds even more beauty to the undead wilderness
Morale, hygiene and disturbance-based survival systems
Fresh starting scenarios for each of the varied player characters
Infected nests for players to purge
Jaws of Extinction is available to buy now on Steam’s Early Access and Epic Games Store for $19.99. To get more Jaws of Extinction news and hear about new features and updates, follow Forthright Entertainment on Twitter and like Forthright Entertainment on Facebook.
Breakwaters, developed by Soaring Pixels, is an island-hopping survival adventure set in a breathtaking, ever-changing oceanic world. While it may look like a perfect paradise, your task is titanic—it’s up to you to defeat terrifying titans to calm the stormy seas.
With Early Access release date information rolling in soon, this is the perfect time to get to know the ropes of Breakwaters. Featuring the largest in-game ocean simulation, how you control the ocean and what lies beneath the waves will determine your success in this unique interactive open-world experience.
Originally announced via Kickstarter earlier this year, Breakwaters immediately resonated with fans and was funded in just 3.5 hours. Since hitting their initial funding goal, along with quite a few stretch goals, the team at Soaring Pixels has been busy preparing and perfecting some pretty cool features for the upcoming Early Access launch, including:
Boats. To build a boat, you must have blueprints and access to a floating dock. Different blueprints can be found or purchased in the Breakwaters world, with each boat having different functions and features, such as the number of contraption slots they have, where those slots are located, and how much contraption weight a boat can handle. The type of vessel you build plays a key part in your play style, and you’ll need to be strategic when considering the best vehicle.
Boat Contraptions. You must think carefully about what contraptions you’ll equip on your boat and how you’ll use them. Without a crane on board, you could miss out on grabbing sunken treasure from the ocean floor. Or, without a cannon on board, you could lose that sunken treasure and more if you can’t defend yourself while at sea. Other contraptions include fog lights, armor, ballista, sails, motors, and more!
Online Co-Op. No man is an island, not even in Breakwaters. While the single-player experience is compelling, exploring the 350+ square kilometer open world is more fun with friends. Work together to build a home base, team up to tackle a Titan or just walk the shoreline and take in the view
Pumps and Pipes. This feature set allows you to create plumbing systems that can drain bodies of water to reveal resources and pump water into structures for storage. Use the water pressure to power contraptions and sensors to automate tasks across your homestead. By using pumps and pipes strategically, you can carve the world around you into the environment you need to succeed in your quest to become a Breakwater, whether that means turning a valley into a lake or creating a devastating flood in the lowlands.
Crystals. Using pumps and pipes isn’t the only way to move water to your advantage. Powerful crystals hidden in the world around you can help you create water where none existed, repel the ocean to harvest resources, attract water to a contained area and more.
Floating Docks. Not satisfied with living in a cozy, beachfront hut with an unbeatable view of the ocean? Use the floating dock feature to build your dream overwater bungalow!
Flexible Farming. A wide variety of farming options is just one way to create an island world that is both functional and beautiful. Whether you need to build a vegetable farm on a steep hillside, or you want to spruce up your place with some potted plants, the ability is there.
Breakwaters is designed for three different types of players: Homesteaders, Explorers, and Adventurers. This means players enjoy many different play styles, such as building, farming, combat/action, adventure and more. There’s something for everyone—casual players who enjoy life-sims can chill on the beach to harvest resources, while players who crave action and adventure can battle massive Titans that plague an otherwise peaceful world.
Breakwaters is set to launch this year on Steam, followed by other PC portals and console platforms at a later date (specific platforms still TBD). For more information, visit the website or Steam Page, or check out Breakwaters on Twitter, TikTok, Discord, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
