AMC Games today announced its upcoming title, The Fabulous Fear Machine, a narrative-driven strategy game for PCs that challenges players to conquer the world through fear. The newest game from the Madrid-based developer Fictiorama Studios (Do Not Feed the Monkeys), The Fabulous Fear Machine combines an audacious social simulation with pulp horror roleplaying. Partnering with AMC Games and Fictiorama on the title is AMC Networks’ premium horror streaming service Shudder, whose expertise at spreading fear proved invaluable for the developers.
The Fabulous Fear Machine is coming to PC in Spring 2022. Watch the game’s teaser trailer here:
A single-player, real-time strategy game with a retro horror comic style, The Fabulous Fear Machine casts the player as a newly minted “Master of the Machine.” To pursue their goals, players must generate and spread fear through the careful cultivation of various Legends—those scary stories, urban myths, and conspiracy theories that lurk in the dark corners of the mind.
“AMC Games’ next title brings us back to our horror roots,” said Clayton Neuman, Vice President of Games for AMC. “The Fabulous Fear Machine is the ultimate manifestation of why we tell scary stories. It explores the tales we all grew up hearing as kids, and the thrill we get from sharing them with others. We’re so excited to be partnering with the award-winning developers at Fictiorama and our colleagues and Shudder to deliver for players the power of urban legends… that they may spread and continue to scare the bejeezus out of us all.”
“With this game we’re not just exploring the subject of urban legends as an essential element of culture and folklore all around the world, but also reflecting on the huge power these tales can hold over a population. Working with the horror experts at Shudder and AMC on this process has been a blast,” according to Fictiorama. “Just how deeply are we all influenced by these fables? In The Fabulous Fear Machine, we answer that question by turning scary stories into strategic tools… and then we place them in the hands of players.”
The game’s campaign is structured around distinct chapters that follow the exploits of several new Masters, each with their own ambitions. As the player’s power in a home region grows, missions gain an increasingly grand scale, and the pressure from other characters increases. The forces of good fight back by reducing Legends to sanitized fairy tales, and randomly occurring social events force players to modify their strategy constantly.
Features include:
Horror evolved. Plant the seeds of fear in fertile ground. Watch and listen to how the media reacts to your Legends. Feed them, then see them grow more powerful and effective.
The job done right. Your strength is in strategizing; leave the dirty work to your Agents. Send them to explore new locations and infiltrate your enemies, making interesting choices along the way.
An equal and opposite reaction. Rivals and the forces of good alike seek to undo the Machine’s influence for their own ends. Plan accordingly, or you may find your own Legends twisted into inspirational stories, mascots, or other sugary-sweet clichés.
Think globally, scare locally. Many Legends are drawn from the unique cultural history of specific countries. Travel the world, and learn what terrors each populace delights in.
A tale as old as time. Across one playthrough you’ll direct the stories of several Masters operating in different regions of the world. Along the way, explore the history of the Machine, its enemies, and the Agents who aid you.
Early development of The Fabulous Fear Machine was supported by Red.es and FEDER (European Regional Development Fund). This is the third title from AMC Games, the video game publishing division of AMC Networks. Their first game was 2020’s acclaimed flight passenger simulator Airplane Mode, which meticulously recreated the experience of real-time commercial flight, and they recently released the metal-detecting narrative game The Magnificent Trufflepigs on PC and Nintendo Switch.

The creepiest season is here and a new operation, codenamed Hope, will have World of Tanks players returning to brave the harsh and unsettling conditions of Mirny starting October 28th. The mystery lies at the center of this once populated town, and it’s up to players to investigate what is happening and, more importantly, why.
Mirny was once a populated oil-producing industrial town. But one day that all changed. A major almost supernatural incident occurred, a state of emergency was declared, and a mass evacuation was ordered. This once booming town, full of promise, became desolate. Some brave scouts were ordered to venture into Mirny to find out its secrets, few returned…
Now, Recon Squads of up to 5 tankers are being created to go in search of answers to the question: “What really happened in Mirny?” Those who are eager to find out the truth will need to take on AI-controlled vehicles, unlike anything seen before on the World of Tanks battlefield. The battle is made up of three or four depending on the difficulty setting. A monstrous and formidable foe, the Immortal, awaits those rising to the challenge of the higher difficulties and make it to the fourth phase. Defeating this behemoth will take all players’ might and skill, but the reward is definitely worth it.
The secret to make the invincible beast become vulnerable are found in this event’s collectibles: Reels. There are eight to be found, each containing some important background information on the Immortal. However, these items have been encrypted and players will be need special keys to decipher them, which can be earned throughout the event, as well as claimed through the Creepin’ It Real Prime Gaming drop. The bravest and unshakable commanders who decode all eight reels and understand this enigmatic locale will be awarded the King Tiger (Captured), a Tier VII Premium American heavy tank, as well as a unique and exclusive Mirny-inspired 3D style, Nox Tenebris.
Players will be able to brave Mirny once again until November 11th. For more information about the event, visit worldoftanks.com.
And for mobile tank battle fans, World of Tanks Blitz has prepared a Halloween-themed event that will run until November 4th. In this event, tankers must win battles or earn Mastery Badges in Tier IV-X vehicles to get Magfilms, this event’s special commodity. These can then be used to unlock levels which will bring great rewards, such as the incredible new Tier V Titan Mk. I and Tier VII Titan H-N tanks (which features experimental armor!), thematic camos, containers with resources and much more. For more information, please visit: wotblitz.com.

Developer Torn Banner Studios, publisher Tripwire Presents, and global retail publishing partner Deep Silver announced today the launch of the free Chivalry 2: Fight Knight update for the award-winning multiplayer hit and 2021 nominee for the Golden Joysticks Best PC Game and Best Multiplayer Game of the Year. Out now for PC (via Epic Games Store), the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 computer entertainment systems, the Xbox One family of devices, and the Xbox Series X|S console systems, the Chivalry 2: Fight Knight update adds an all-new Brawl mode, Last Team Standing mode, and a new swashbuckling Rapier weapon. In addition, combat becomes even more outrageous now that players with dismembered arms can use headbutts for one last chance at taking down rivals. All this and more comes wrapped in a seasonal Halloween event, filling the ultimate medieval battlefield with festive and spooky decorations.
“Chivalry 2 is going to live for a very long time,” said Torn Banner Studios CEO & Creative Director Steve Piggott. “We’ve already confirmed content planned for release all the way through the end of 2022 and remain committed to doubling the size and scope of Chivalry 2 as our team continues work on updates, like today’s Fight Knight release.”
Chivalry 2: Fight Knight update key features include:
Brawl Mode and Maps: Leave your weapons at the door for the all-new brawl mode designed to capture the rowdy and chaotic feel of a tavern brawl. Take a seat! Literally. And then smash someone’s face with it!
Two Brawl Maps: Up to 40 players can join the fray in The Great Hall and Rudhelm Feast.
Found Objects: Players can pick up and wield just about anything they can find across the map. Embrace the chaos and grab chairs, beer steins, rolling pins, sausages, and giant fish to beat down your rivals!
Last Team Standing Mode: Players looking for more realistic team battles can expect the return of top-requested mode from the original Chivalry: Medieval Warfare! Stakes are high, as these 40-player battles have no respawns. The last team/person standing is crowned as the winning team.
Headbutt Combat: It’s only a flesh wound! Chivalry 2’s limb loss combat system sees the most brutal and outrageous update yet. Now, when a player has lost both limbs in combat, they can execute an arm-less headbutt attack for a last chance at taking down an opponent before bleeding out.
Rapier Weapon: This new fencing weapon type also introduces a new swashbuckling combat style with more focus on fast-movements and flourishes.
Halloween Event: Running from Oct. 26 through Nov. 7, players can look forward to Chivalry 2’s first-ever seasonal event with new cosmetics, like the pumpkinhelm, and Halloween themed decorations and interactive objects, like giant Jack O Lanterns that can be weaponized.
Rudhelm Siege, Dark Forest, Great Hall (Brawl mode), and Wardenglade (Free-for-All and Last Team Standing modes) will feature these limited-time Halloween decorations.
Arena Mode Improvements: New improvements to Arena include an offline practice mode for teams to hone their skills and teamwork as well as overall polish improvements, including a new winner’s podium cutscene.
Armory Updates: In addition to the new Rapier weapon, players can all look forward to a wide array of new cosmetics and skins to unlock, including armor sets, new female armor skins, new helmet skins, new weapon skins, and even a fancy mustache!
