With less than a week before the global release of Layers of Fear (2023), Bloober Team and Anshar Studios debuted a new, cinematic story trailer at the Future Games Show today, depicting the story of The Writer, the recently introduced a new protagonist in the series. Hers is a harrowing tale that ties each entry in the series together. Showcasing a mysterious lighthouse and alluding to past horrors, this trailer invites players to gain a glimpse of the terrors that await them when the game launches on June 15th for Windows PCs, Mac and current generation console hardware.

Layers of Fear (2023) is a tribute to fans of the series both new and old. This franchise has helped shape Bloober Team’s core goal of delivering high-quality psychological horror games, and this new title represents the definitive Layers of Fear experience, making it the series’ crowning work. The game will launch on PC, PS5, Apple Silicon Mac and Xbox Series X|S on June 15th, 2023, and the Standard Edition containing the base game will be released at $29.99. HEXWORKS, a CI Games studio, are granting fans their closest look yet at the vast and treacherous worlds of its upcoming, dark-fantasy action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen, with a spectacular new gameplay showcase video. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the highly anticipated title launches Friday 13th October, and is available to pre-order now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Focusing on one of the title’s most anticipated mechanics, the feature provides all-new details, alongside never-before-seen gameplay, on how the dual worlds of Lords of the Fallen function. Players will need to explore not one, but two expansive environments when adventuring through the savage lands of Mournstead; Axiom, the realm of the living, and Umbral, the realm of the dead.

Coexisting like two sides of the same coin, these parallel worlds each feature their own unique pathways, enemies, characters, and, of course, treasures. And while it is often down to the player which realm they journey through, they will regularly need to switch from one to the other in order to progress.

In addition, the video also provided brand new details on three of its numerous brutal bosses, as well as shedding new light on an integral gameplay ability – the soul flay – which not only allows players to interact with the soul of their enemy, but also manipulate elements of the environment for some puzzle based exploration.

EVE Online Viridian Expansion Features Trailer

Today, CCP Games revealed that Viridian, the next major expansion for spacefaring MMO EVE Online, will launch on June 13, 2023. The release date was revealed during a livestream hosted by EVE Online Creative Director Bergur Finnbogason and Game Director Snorri Árnason, marking the conclusion of the Viridian in Focus series.

Viridian is dedicated to empowering and growing EVE Online’s player-driven corporations. The expansion adds expanded toolsets for efficient group management, additional ways to personalize player-owned structures, new Lancer Dreadnaughts to build and fly, and enhanced visuals.

Tekken 8 Closed Network Test Registration Now Open

Leading video game publisher and developer Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today announced that TEKKEN™8, the next entry in the legendary franchise, will conduct Closed Network Tests (CNT) across consoles and PC. Registration is open now for interested testers, with sessions set to take place starting July 21, 2023. TEKKEN 8 is coming exclusively to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam®.

Developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc., TEKKEN 8 promises to be the most visually stunning and visceral TEKKEN™ title yet. The game is introducing major new changes to combat that include a new “aggressive” fight system that encourages an offense-first play style, keeping the action at a high level by rewarding players who stay on the attack. Another first for the series is cross play, raising the level of competition by allowing players to fight each other regardless of which platform they prefer. With the upcoming CNT, players are invited to experience “Ranked Matches” and play a part in helping influence key game mechanics and features coming to the sequel.

The TEKKEN 8 CNT will feature online head-to-head competitive play with cross-platform matching. Testers will be able to choose from 16 playable characters including those previously revealed, with Jin, Kazuya, Jun, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack 8, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Lili, Asuka, Hwoarang, and Bryan, along with a new fighter made available for the CNT: Claudio. There will be five available stages with Urban Square, Yakushima, Rebel Hangar, Sanctum, and Arena.

Testing will take place across two different sessions, with a Week 1 CNT on PlayStation 5 only, and a Week 2 CNT across all three available platforms including Xbox Series X|S and PC. There is no required subscription to Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation®Plus to participate. Testers will be asked to fill out an online survey sent to the email they use to register. King Arthur: Legends Rise Gets New Trailer

During Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, Kabam debuted an all-new trailer for upcoming medieval squad-based RPG King Arthur: Legends Rise and announced that players can experience the dark, reimagined Arthurian story when it releases worldwide later this year on the App Store, Google Play and Steam.

Paradox Interactive and developer Nimble Giant Entertainment, under license from Paramount Consumer Products, today revealed Star Trek: Infinite, a grand strategy game based on the iconic sci-fi franchise. Set a few decades before Star Trek: The Next Generation, players will run an entire fleet within the Star Trek universe, commanding one of four major powers in the galaxy: the United Federation of Planets, Romulan Star Empire, Cardassian Union, or Klingon Empire. Star Trek: Infinite is coming to PC and macOS this Fall.

Independent developer Free Range Games and publisher North Beach Games today shared a first look at the co-op, survival crafting gameplay of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria in a brand-new trailer debuted at Summer Game Fest 2023. Additionally, the companies are pleased to announce console versions of the game are in active development for the PlayStation®5 computer entertainment system and Xbox Series X|S console systems, and are scheduled to launch simultaneously with the Windows PC version via the Epic Games Store in fall 2023. The only survival crafting video game set in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, the iconic fantasy world created by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria follows the Dwarves as they embark on adventures to reclaim and restore their Dwarven homeland of Moria.

Narrated by venerable actor John Rhys-Davies, the first gameplay trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria features never-before-seen footage from the PC version of the game. Showcasing their renowned courage and camaraderie, the Dwarves set forth into the cavernous Mines of Moria, harvesting resources crucial for crafting and building while rekindling long-cold forges to smith more powerful weapons and armor as they venture deeper still into the dangers in the dark. Paradox Interactive to Publish Space Trash Scavenger by SquarePlay Games

Paradox Interactive today announced a partnership with SquarePlay Games to publish Space Trash Scavenger under the Arc publishing label. They also announced that Space Trash Scavenger will launch into Steam Early Access soon and can be wishlisted on Steam now. Space Trash Scavenger is a survival base builder game that sends players to hunt for riches while defending their ever-expanding Space Rig.

In the pursuit of wealth in the 31st century, players join Scav-X, the galaxy’s number one waste disposal company. Players venture the galaxy’s procedurally generated asteroid fields, space-wrecks, and abandoned outposts to collect scrap and resources from the remnants of a once great civilization. Space Trash Scavenger offers a unique, 360-degree base building experience. Build out your Space Rig in any direction you choose, with factory-like automation and crop cultivation to grow your fortune and trade in an interstellar stock market.

It wouldn’t be waste management without pests; craft weapons and upgrade your spacesuit to defend your base against hordes of alien attackers. These dangerous bots patrol the debris and are drawn in greater numbers as your Space Rig expands.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed – Ecto Edition, a 4v1 haunt-or-hunt action-packed video game from the asymmetrical multiplayer experts at IllFonic, will be joining the Switch family this year. Rated 10+, the game will be available in the My Nintendo Store. A physical version of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed – Ecto Edition will be released with our physical partners, Nighthawk Interactive. Fans of Ghostbusters and Nintendo will now have the chance to unite forces or rally against current PC/Epic Games Store, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One users as the game will play seamlessly across platforms.

The team has been hard at work adapting the game for Switch. Performing at a dynamic resolution from a range of 720 (handheld mode) to 1080p at the maximum, 30fps (industry standard for Switch). In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore open the Firehouse to you and the next generation of Ghostbusters. This asymmetrical game of hide and seek is a 4v1 setup where players will either play as part of a team of new Ghostbusters or a Ghost. This title not only allows players to enjoy the game solo or with up to four friends, but also features an online and offline single-player mode available in the form of AI-assisted play. Most importantly, the more you play, the more the story will unfold (with cutscenes). Those already playing will be excited to hear that this story will be expanded in the Ecto Edition coming later this year. Whether haunting or hunting, the game is easy to learn and fun to master!

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has all the iconic gear and gadgets, from Proton Packs to P.K.E. Meters and Ghost Traps that fans would expect and new gamers to the universe will enjoy when playing as a Ghostbuster. In addition, many will recognize the Firehouse and Ray’s Occult Books that act as the game’s hub. This is where players will choose missions, customize their characters, practice firing their particle throwers, and explore all there is to learn. And yes, you will hear the original film actors reprising their roles as Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore, along with some new friends!

As the Ghost – Ghosts have multiple abilities in their arsenal, like possessing objects, of course, sliming, and more, that make haunting all the various locations a blast to play. Choose from up to five Ghosts with unique skills, ultimate abilities, and commendable minions fueled by ectoplasm. Fly around public locations and possess an inordinate amount of inanimate objects to evade pursuing Ghostbusters. Frighten citizens until they flee in fear, prank unsuspecting Ghostbusters, and hide your rifts to spawn safely in case you get trapped.
As a Ghostbuster – Be one of the four proton pack-wielding Ghostbusters and attempt to catch a Ghost haunting unique locations with your trusty ghost trap and tools. Use the P.K.E. Meter to sniff out rifts that act as the Ghost’s spawn points and destroy them with your Proton Pack’s particle thrower before the Ghost completes their haunt. As players progress, they will unlock cosmetics and upgrades for both Ghostbusters and Ghosts to evolve their gameplay experiences. The look and feel will deliver to fans an immersive experience in the universe, allowing them to play out their Ghostbusting fantasies.
Locations – Explore multiple unique locations, including; a museum, winter lodge, docked ship, multi-leveled prison, an active brewery, and more. Complete challenges, customize your Ghostbuster and Ghosts and locate hidden spores, mold, and fungus to gain access to more unlockables.
