Chucky Arrives in Dead by Daylight

Your new best friend ’til the end is here and ready to play. The horror icon Chucky has arrived in Dead by Daylight. Starting today, players can traverse The Fog and terrorize Survivors as the infamous killer doll.

It’s About #$@&%*! Time

As a much-requested character by the Dead by Daylight community, the addition of Chucky brings a playfulness to the game that only The Good Guy himself can muster. While it may have been assumed that his smaller size would make it impossible to bring him into The Fog, the team at Behaviour Interactive, in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, worked hard to ensure a smooth transition, making him the first Killer to use a third-person camera.

His unique way of tormenting his victims is matched only by his foul and colorful way with words—and it’s fully reflected in this brand-new Chapter. With his unique playstyle and outrageous lines voiced by his original voice actor Brad Dourif, players can expect a faithful recreation of Chucky’s murderous mayhem in Dead by Daylight.

Playing With Dolls

He may be small, but this Killer’s penchant for mayhem should not be underestimated. In fact, his sinister laugh and unforgettable one-liners may be the last thing players hear. With effective tools for sneaking around the Map, Chucky is a force to be reckoned with. His Special Ability, Hidey-Ho Mode, creates Footfalls, a disorienting audio and visual effect that confuses Survivors with sounds and footprints coming from multiple directions.

While in Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky can execute two unique actions: Scamper and Slice & Dice. Scamper enables Chucky to vault through windows or beneath downed pallets, giving Survivors an unexpected jump scare. The Slice & Dice action on the other hand lets him rush and leap toward Survivors, injuring them with his knife.

It’s true – being The Good Guy has its perks. Straight out of the box, Chucky comes with three unique Perks—each designed to maximize the playful nature of his cruelty. His first Perk, Hex: Two Can Play, Blinds any Survivor that attempts to Stun or Blind Chucky, making sure Survivors think twice before engaging.

His second Perk, Friends, ’Til The End, proves he’s always on the hunt for new friends. When Chucky hooks a Survivor that is not the Obsession, the Obsession will become Exposed, and have their Aura briefly revealed. When the Obsession is hooked, a random Survivor will scream and become the Obsession.

Chucky’s third Perk is Batteries Included. Whenever a generator is complete, entering its vicinity will grant the Killer a movement speed boost for as long as they remain in range, allowing him to catch up to fleeing Survivors.

Suit Up For Scares

The Chapter also arrives with the Friends ’Til The End Collection, which features two iconic Outfits for Chucky.

The Back From The Dead Chucky Outfit (Very Rare) showcases that nothing can keep The Good Guy down. It features Chucky in his iconic resurrected look all stitched up and ready to go, dressed in his classic striped turtleneck and denim overalls.

In addition, The Good Gal Outfit (Legendary) introduces Tiffany, aka the Bride of Chucky, into The Fog. Donning her signature dress and leather jacket, this Outfit comes complete with new lines voiced by the legendary Jennifer Tilly.

Your new best friend is waiting for you. Dead by Daylight: Chucky is available now via Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store, Windows Store and Nintendo Switch

Gangs of Sherwood Alan-a-Dale Launch Trailer

With the co-op action-adventure game Gangs of Sherwood about to launch this Thursday, 30 November, we’re delighted to unveil the game’s brand-new trailer, which is the pride of our teams!

In this ambitious new trailer mixing live-action and gameplay footage, minstrel Alan-A-Dale lets you discover the story and the protagonists of Gangs of Sherwood through song.

Andrea Di Stefano, Game Director at Appeal Studios and Maxime Prevosteau, Product Manager at NACON had this to say about Alan-A-Dale and the latest Gangs of Sherwood trailer.

Who is Alan-A-Dale and how does he fit into the legend?
Andrea Di Stefano: “Although he’s not as well-known as other heroes from the legend such as Friar Tuck or Little John, this character is an important member of Robin Hood’s Merry Men. He plays a crucial role in the game as a narrator introducing every new adventure through a humorous puppet show, also used to speak out against Sheriff Nottingham’s tyranny.”

What inspired you for this trailer?
Maxime Prevosteau: “We wanted to pay tribute to this atypical, charismatic character by creating an epic song with a medieval tone that gets stuck in your head! We were inspired by many things, including Disney’s iconic Robin Hood and Aladdin cartoons and even The Witcher.”
Andrea Di Stefano: “It also made perfect sense to cast the talented artist Lenny Mark Irons as Alan-A-Dale in the trailer, since he also lent his voice to the character in the game.”

We hope you enjoy this video as much as we loved creating it!

Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter Coming December 6th

Ahoy! Iron Wolf Studio and Daedalic Entertainment announce that the thrilling Naval-Warfare Sim Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter will launch into battle on December 6th! This captivating and unique WWII game invites seafarer greenhorns as well as hard-boiled captains to take the helm and protect supply convoys from Nazi Germany’s treacherous submarine assaults. Rooted in real history, the developers took the utmost care in presenting these conflicts as accurately as possible.

Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter is a historically accurate anti-submarine warfare simulation set in the Atlantic during WWII. The game depicts the United States and Royal Canadian Navys’ fight against German U-boats while escorting convoys during the siege of the United Kingdom. The player takes control of a realistically recreated Fletcher-Class Destroyer and uses its authentic instruments to detect and sink the feared U-boat wolfpacks.

HISTORICAL ACCURACY

The developers at Iron Wolf Studio literally went the extra mile to make sure that every instrument is depicted accurately and every bolt sits at the right spot. They traveled to the US not only to photograph and study an original Fletcher-class Destroyer but also to interview veterans who worked on similar vessels. Back in their headquarters in Katowice, Poland, they recreated all game assets from the photos and descriptions they gathered.

Game Director & Producer Bartosz Pluta during a research trip in the USA

CAREER MODE

On top of a battle mode, the game offers a career mode where you take the role of an aspiring young captain. This mode adds narrative depth to the naval-warfare simulation gameplay in the form of nine handcrafted missions, featuring authentic voice acting and motion capture cutscenes in between missions to further enhance the historical immersion.

GAME FEATURES

  • Procedural battle generation with randomized weather, time of day, and enemy attack patterns.
  • A detailed Fletcher-class destroyer model with 5 locations meticulously recreated in state-of-the-art 3D: the bridge, the combat information center, the sonar room, the gun director, and the lookouts’ station.
  • Over 300 voice reports were recorded by professional voice actors, navy school cadets, and US Navy experts for unparalleled immersion and situational awareness.
  • A dark, thematic soundtrack comprising 4 multi-layered pieces that dynamically adjust to the level of tension between you and the enemy.
  • Varied U-boat captain profiles: aggressive, sneaky, patient, or cold professional – each of them with an ace up their sleeve.

THE JOURNEY THROUGH THE EARLY ACCESS SEAS

Starting out as an Early Access game, Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter quickly grew an active community that helped improve the game based on player feedback. With the end of Early Access, the developers at Iron Wolf Studio have created a showcase that reflects on the games’ journey while introducing the core mechanics to new players.
