Paramount Game Studios, part of Paramount, a leading global media, streaming and entertainment company, is bringing a battleground-style experience to the Roblox platform this summer based on Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. The first official Avatar experience on the platform is developed by Looty Games, an established Roblox developer studio and veteran of the battlegrounds genre, as part of the Roblox Creator Fund, which sets out to accelerate projects with innovative gameplay, ambitious visual designs, and creative ideas that are unlike anything else on the platform.
Bringing the iconic series’ “bending” abilities to the battlegrounds genre, fans can, for the first time ever, create their own bender, master their element, and compete in the Avatarverse. Within an arena environment that will be fast paced, frenetic and full of intense energy, bending takes the experience to the next level as users employ water, earth, fire and air moves rooted in traditional martial arts.
“Avatar: The Last Airbender has created a rich universe that generations of fans want to immerse themselves in, and Roblox allows users to have that experience,” said Doug Rosen, SVP, Games and Emerging Media, Paramount. “We’re thrilled to be able to work with Looty Games and Roblox to deepen fans’ connection to the franchise in this virtual world.”
The game will launch Summer 2024 on Roblox, with an official title and more details to be revealed in the coming months.

Out of the city, onto the highway: In the course of PAX East starting this week, publisher astragon Entertainment and developer Aesir Interactive are pleased to announce the Highway Patrol Expansion for Police Simulator: Patrol Officers which will be available in Summer 2024 for PC, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One with a new trailer! Become a highway patrol officer
The Highway Patrol Expansion for Police Simulator: Patrol Officers extends the game map beyond Brighton’s borders, opening up driveways to the bustling Brighton highway district and introducing new tasks like high speed monitoring, cargo checks on trucks, and highway assistance. However, with the highways open, car thefts surge, leading to thrilling chases and tactical maneuvers. Equipped with the new spike strips and roadblocks, officers have even more tools to stop fleeing criminals which are particularly helpful when playing with two players in multiplayer mode. Additionally, when it comes to accidents on the highway, they must be ready to tackle fires at accident sites using fire extinguishers. To help them accomplish all these new tasks even better, the expansion includes two new vehicles: the new Interstate Police Vehicle ensures that officers can perform their duties with a touch of vintage flair, and the Endurance Police Vehicle is equipped with a heavy-duty device that officers can use to stop fleeing vehicles at full speed.
Playable version and showcase live stream at PAX East
During this year’s PAX East event from March 21 to 24 in Boston, US, visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to test the Highway Patrol Expansion before its official release at the astragon Entertainment booth (booth 16105)!
Additionally, mark your calendars for March 23rd from 4:00PM EDT / 21:00 CET / 8:00PM GMT when the key features of the Highway Patrol Expansion will be presented in detail at the astragon PAX Showcase panel. Hosted by renowned simulation content creator Raptor, this event will be broadcasted live from the Boston Satellite Theatre. Can’t make it in person? Maximum Entertainment and Dee Dee Creations today revealed during The MIX’s Spring Games Showcase 2024 a new Squirrel with a Gun trailer that showcases the intricate lives of squirrels: finding nice trees to live in, foraging nuts to snack on, and absolutely decimating the humans that have done them wrong with an array of firearms. They also like collecting acorns. This chaotic little rodent will be making its home on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC later this year: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2067050/Squirrel_with_a_Gun/
In Squirrel with a Gun, you’ll find yourself starting out as nothing but a rodent with a dream. However, once equipped with one of the many firearms squirrels so often encounter in nature, you’ll use your weapon to take on the agents that are hunting you down. You may be less than a foot tall, but you can wreak havoc with the best of them.
This squirrel has more than one trick, though. Need to make a quick escape? Fire off your weapon and use the recoil to propel yourself to safety. With seven different firearms to collect, RC cars to steal and mayhem to start, the world is your acorn in Squirrel with a Gun. Cause chaos, forage nuts, interrupt picnics, steal cake and more to prove you’re one rodent that should not be trifled with.
Squirrel with a Gun will be present at MIX’s on-site GDC press event Monday, March 18 from 8-11pm at Terra Gallery, 511 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA.

The intergalactic bandits shooting up the West in strategy shooter Wild Bastards will bring their hijinks to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch later this year alongside the previously confirmed release on PC (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1660840/Wild_Bastards/). Publisher Maximum Entertainment and developer Blue Manchu just announced the expansion of their interstellar upcoming title in a new trailer featured in The MIX’s Spring Games Showcase 2024:
Today’s gameplay looks to the looming threat that has Wild Bastards’ misfit outlaws on the run as they test an arsenal of futuristic weaponry against devious extraterrestrial threats spanning multiple planets. The footage debuts two new characters, each brimming with eccentric bravado reminiscent of Wild Bastards’ full roster, along with weapons and never-before-shown areas. The antics of these antiheroes demonstrate Wild Bastards’ compelling blend of fluid FPS action with thoughtful management of the bandits; these decision-making moments are key to plotting the bandits’ course to their next incredible haul.
Wild Bastards finds its lawbreakers hunted and nearly eradicated by Jebediah Chaste, a ruthlessly puritanical magnate. After killing all but two of the Bastards, Jebediah’s final targets are miraculously saved by a mysterious, sentient spaceship known as The Drifter. The Bastards are fleeing an unwinnable standoff, exploring an ever-changing and lawless galaxy rife with precious weapons and spoils, as well as grisly fates, in a grand attempt to resurrect their compatriots while living to steal another day.
While working to demystify The Drifter’s intentions in saving them, amass a gang of 13 playable and uniquely talented criminals, managing the relationships between them and guiding their growth. Juggle injuries and feuds while plotting a path through the galaxy, exploring and fleecing planets and, of course, shooting anyone or anything who gets in the way. Prevailing through Wild Bastards’ campaign also unlocks a Challenge Mode which adds modifiers and a steadily ramping challenge to keep outlaws on their toes.
Wild Bastards will be present and playable at Day of the Devs 2024: San Francisco Edition on March 17th at The Midway, San Francisco, CA from 3-8pm and on the GDC show floor in the Day of the Devs station from March 18-22. The onsite demo will also be available at MIX’s GDC press event Monday, March 18th at Terra Gallery, San Francisco, CA from 8-11pm.
