The age of the Gods ends here: independent video game studio Traega Entertainment today revealed Dawn of Defiance, an open-world, crafting-survival game inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Launching in early access later this year on Steam and the Epic Games Store, Dawn of Defiance combines all the essentials of the survival genre with divine powers, expansive crafting, and co-op multiplayer for up to four players.

You are the Defier of Gods. Ascend from weak soldier to god-like anti-hero, venturing across the ruined Isles, building impressive temples, and vanquishing the Gods’ followers to gain their mythic abilities. From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters, a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. Today, Paradox Interactive launched The Machine Age, the new major expansion for its sci-fi strategy game Stellaris. 11 bit studios and Starward Industries have officially launched the Voyager Update for their sci-fi adventure, The Invincible, based on the Stanislaw Lem novel of the same name. Releasing today for Steam and for console versions, this update provides a ton of improvements based on player feedback and a few other little surprises.

Hive Jump 2: Survivors, the sci-fi bullet heaven roguelike sequel to critically acclaimed action-platformer Hive Jump from developer Graphite Lab and publisher Midwest Games, explosively repels pests on PC via Steam Early Access on May 29, 2024.

After a squad of intrepid jetpack jumpers is decimated in an intergalactic ambush, one survivor must escape the hostile planet alone. Engineer a lethal combination of augmentations to annihilate droves of murderous bug-like aliens in a desperate attempt at survival.

Every Jumpers’ not-so-secret weapon? Jetpacks! Strap in and engage the thrusters to dodge incoming hordes and maneuver around obstacles. Zip across lava pools, an icy tundra and rocky terrain while unloading firepower on unsuspecting pests below. Incorporate jetpack enhancements into Jumper builds with augments like additional damage and increased health reserves.

Exterminate enemy hives, slaying a variety of foes from plasma-spewing Bombarders to claw-snapping Crushers. Expert jumpers can opt into manual aiming for control amongst the chaos, while fresh recruits can get a leg up with auto-firing. Convert bug carcasses into currency, exchanging “goo” for weapons, utilities, and relics of varying rarity. Snag precious Amber to boost builds with permanent upgrades.

Select the ideal Jumper for each swat at the swarm. Detonate explosive Tesla orbs with Runabout, discharge deadly poison clouds with Scout, or fry pests to a crisp with Bruiser’s flamethrower. Each Jumper has distinct stats that impact speed, rate of fire, health, and other attributes. Experiment with different combos of power-ups and weapons to prolong survival.

“Following the success of Hive Jump, we wanted to create a follow-up that would satisfy fans of the original game and bring new fighters to the hive,” said Matt Raithel, Studio Director of Graphite Lab. “The fast-paced combat of Hive Jump 2: Survivors combined with its distinctive jetpack mechanics make for a roguelike that stands out from the swarm.”

Hive Jump 2: Survivors will be available on PC via Steam Early Access on May 29, 2024 in English language with more localization support to come in 1.0.
