Game in Style (and Mischief): Razer Enki X Kuromi Edition Chair Review

The Razer Enki X Kuromi Edition gaming chair is a delightful fusion of comfort, ergonomics, and playful aesthetics, designed to appeal to gamers who appreciate a touch of personality in their setup. This special edition chair takes the solid foundation of the Razer Enki X and infuses it with a vibrant Kuromi theme, transforming it from a functional seat into a statement piece that embodies the mischievous spirit of the beloved Sanrio character. While the standard Enki X is no slouch when it comes to comfort and support, the Kuromi Edition elevates the experience with its distinctive design and attention to detail.

From the moment you lay eyes on it, the Enki X Kuromi Edition commands attention. The predominantly black chair is punctuated by swathes of vibrant purple fabric, creating a visually striking contrast that perfectly captures Kuromi’s signature color scheme. The intricate cross-hatched pattern on the fabric adds a layer of texture and depth, further enhancing the visual appeal. Subtle yet recognizable details, like the embroidered Kuromi logo on the backrest and the iconic skulls adorning the headrest, serve as delightful nods to the character’s mischievous nature. The overall design is a testament to Razer’s commitment to creating a chair that is not only functional but also a reflection of the user’s personal style.

But the Enki X Kuromi Edition is more than just a pretty face. It inherits the core ergonomic features that make the Enki X a comfortable and supportive chair for extended gaming sessions. The built-in lumbar arch provides crucial support for the lower back, promoting a healthy posture and reducing fatigue. The chair’s wide seat base and optimized cushion density offer a plush yet supportive seating experience, striking a balance between comfort and proper posture. The dual-textured, eco-friendly synthetic leather upholstery feels luxurious and supple, adding to the overall sense of quality.

Adjustability is key for any gaming chair, and the Enki X Kuromi Edition delivers in this regard. The backrest reclines up to a generous 152 degrees, allowing you to find the perfect angle for gaming, working, or simply relaxing. The 2D armrests can be adjusted for height and angle, ensuring that your arms are properly supported and your wrists are in a neutral position. The chair’s height is also adjustable, allowing you to tailor it to your desk setup and personal preferences.

While the Enki X Kuromi Edition excels in its design and comfort, it’s worth noting a few limitations. The lumbar support, while effective, is static and cannot be adjusted for height or depth. This might be a drawback for users who prefer more customizable lumbar support options. The armrests, while adjustable, only offer 2D movement, lacking the forward and backward adjustment found in some higher-end gaming chairs.

The price is another factor to consider. The Enki X Kuromi Edition commands a premium over the standard Enki X, reflecting the unique design and character theming. While the aesthetic enhancements are undeniably appealing, the price increase might be a barrier for some users. It’s crucial to weigh the value of the design against the additional cost and determine if it aligns with your budget and priorities.

Ultimately, the Razer Enki X Kuromi Edition gaming chair is a compelling choice for gamers who value both comfort and style. It delivers a supportive and ergonomic seating experience, wrapped in a visually captivating design that celebrates the beloved Kuromi character. While the price premium and limited adjustability are factors to consider, the overall package is undeniably attractive for those seeking a chair that is both functional and expressive.

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5

  • Visually appealing with black and purple colors, Kuromi logo, and themed accents.
  • Built-in lumbar arch, wide seat base, and optimized cushion density for long-lasting comfort.
  • 152-degree recline, 2D adjustable armrests, and adjustable height for customized support.
  • Sturdy frame and high-quality materials for long-term use.
  • Clear instructions make assembly straightforward (though the chair is heavy).

Cons:

  • Significantly more expensive than the standard Razer Enki X.
  • Static lumbar support and 2D armrests may not suit all users.

The Last Caretaker – Announcement Trailer

Today, at IGN Fan Fest, Channel37 — a Finnish independent studio founded by industry veterans — unveiled its premiere title, The Last Caretaker. This first-person survival action-adventure takes players into a vast, uncharted ocean world where remnants of the past linger amongst the waves, and the future of humanity rests in the hands of a single caretaker.

The Last Caretaker invites players to explore, build, and uncover the secrets of this transformed world when it launches into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store this summer. A console release of The Last Caretaker is planned for a later date.

A New World, A Forgotten Mission

The world has changed. An endless ocean stretches in every direction, its surface broken by the last remnants of those who stayed behind. Machines still hum with forgotten purpose, beacons flicker with old signals, and infrastructure continues its silent operations. But something else stirs — technology repurposed, reshaped to drift in silence.

As the Last Caretaker, a player must navigate this vast ocean, scavenging lost knowledge, reactivating dormant systems, and ensuring the survival of humanity’s final remnants. Deep within the Seed Vaults, the last human embryos wait for their journey to the stars. But not all that remains is dormant. Some machines still whisper, still move, still watch.

“At Channel37, we’re not just making a game. We’re building something deeply personal, something that reflects decades of experience and passion,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Co-Founder of Channel37. “Our team has been creating games for over 25 years, and with the backing of Supercell, we’ve had the freedom to craft something truly new. This is not just another survival game; it’s a story about duty, legacy, and the burden of carrying humanity’s last hope.”

He continued, “The Last Caretaker is our love letter to exploration, mystery, and resilience. We’ve built a world that reacts, evolves, and hides secrets in plain sight. This is a game we believe in, and we can’t wait to share it with players.”

The Last Caretaker: A World of Connection, Exploration, and Purpose

The Last Caretaker is built on four core pillars that shape gameplay and story: Connection, Exploration, Caretaking, and Resilience. Every action, choice, and discovery brings players closer to fulfilling their mission of ensuring humanity’s future.

Key Features of The Last Caretaker:
  • Create: Scavenge valuable resources to repair critical systems, upgrade your robotic capabilities, and craft tools essential for maintaining your operational capabilities.
  • Explore: Navigate an endless ocean dotted with towering remnants of another time. Weathered megastructures, decayed platforms, and forgotten stations still cling to purpose. Some structures hold valuable resources, others whisper with long-lost signals.
  • Discover: From encrypted recordings to long-dormant terminals, fragments of human history remain scattered across the ocean. Each piece recovered adds another thread to the story of what came before and what must come next.
  • Nurture: Balance nutrition, energy, and memories to cultivate the first new humans in centuries. Every launch to the orbital colonies is a step closer to completing the Caretaker’s ultimate directive.
  • Survive: The ocean is beautiful, but it is not safe. Rogue machines, biomechanical threats, and unknown forces seek to disrupt your mission. You must adapt, defend, and find a way forward, no matter the cost.

The War of the Worlds: Siberia Timeline Story Trailer

A new The War of the Worlds: Siberia Timeline asset was revealed by IGN Fan Fest today. The new story-focused trailer illuminates the inner dealings among survivors of the alien invasion – to what end and consequence?

First declassification of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS: SIBERIA from 1CGS. The assets recovered indicate a third-person view of action, adventure, suspense set in an alternate universe version of 1896, where an alien invasion much like the one described in The War of the Worlds by Herbert G. Wells, takes place. Our central agents must accomplish their missions and escape, at any cost. It is the first of many pieces of intelligence to become public as THE WAR OF THE WORLDS: SIBERIA continues to develop for the Personal Console (PC).

The Alters Official Trailer

Survival may be a familiar challenge in games, but 11 bit studios’ upcoming ambitious sci-fi title, The Alters, takes it to an intensely personal level. In The Alters, survival isn’t just about enduring the unknown—it’s about confronting yourself in the most personal way possible; face-to-face. After all, what could be more personal than navigating life-or-death decisions alongside alternate versions of who you could have been?

Jan Dolski is an ordinary worker—now the sole survivor of a crash landing on a distant, unforgiving planet. Stranded and alone, he faces an impossible task: operating a massive mobile base designed for an entire crew all while escaping the relentless, burning sun. His only chance lies in the Alters—alternate versions of himself, shaped by pivotal choices he never made, each with different skills, different memories, and different lives.

As revealed in the latest trailer, which subtly plays with the notion of breaking the fourth wall, working with these different Jans is anything but straightforward. They are not just copies. Some took different paths and look upon the first Jan’s choices with pity. Others succeeded where he failed, living lives he never had the chance to—and now, maybe, they don’t even believe he has the guts to be a leader.

But none of that matters when survival is at stake. Like it or not, they must find a way to work together—one way or another.

The Alters blends a meaningful, emergent narrative—where choices truly matter—with survival gameplay, exploration, resource gathering, and base-building and management mechanics. Developed by 11 bit studios’ in-house team, which includes members behind the bestselling This War of Mine, the game is set to launch in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass.

The Alters will be released in 2025 for PCs and consoles. It will also launch on PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass.
