Matrix Games is thrilled to announce a major addition to the Combat Mission: Cold War franchise. During Home of Wargamers 2025—the annual event highlighting the most anticipated wargames of the coming months and years—the company unveiled its brand-new DLC. Excitingly, fans won’t have to wait: the DLC is available immediately, bringing fresh content and new tactical challenges to players worldwide.
The newly announced and just released British Army of the Rhine DLC expands the acclaimed tactical simulator with additional vehicles, units, and armies, building on the base game’s focus on the Fulda Gap and the hypothetical clashes between the US Army and the Warsaw Pact.
Starting today, Cold War enthusiasts can take command of three new armies.
British Army of the Rhine (BAOR): Field iconic UK vehicles and weapons including the FV432 series, Swingfires, Strikers, Scorpions, Scimitars, and the mighty Chieftain tank.
Canadian 4th Mechanized Brigade Group (4 CMBG): A distinctive NATO force featuring Centurion and Leopard C1 tanks, Lynx 25mm vehicles—and even the last flamethrowers ever deployed by NATO in Europe.
Soviet VDV/Airborne Forces: Elite paratroopers backed by BMD infantry fighting vehicles and specialized equipment, creating new tactical threats on the battlefield.
The BAOR DLC also features three full campaigns—one for each new faction (UK, Canadian, and Soviet Airborne “Lost Company”)—as well as dozens of standalone scenarios that let players experience the full spectrum of Cold War tactical warfare. In addition, it introduces a brand-new region: the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) in Canada, offering challenging terrain perfect for custom battles and even “Blue on Blue” engagements.

The interface also lets you mute or adjust sound on the fly. And when it’s time to wrap up, you can upload directly to the cloud with a single swipe.
Adaptive Beamforming
No matter your setup, Wave adapts to ensure your sound is optimized. With adaptive beamforming, a capability typically reserved for professional microphones, you can select from five distinct pickup patterns to suit your scenario:
Omni: 360-degree pickup for group discussions.
Cardioid: Focused front capture for online meetings and podcasts.
Supercardioid: Suppresses ambient noise even further, perfect for busy offices.
Figure-8: Captures front and back, ideal for two-person interviews.
Stereo: Wide, natural audio for creative recordings like ASMR or music.
Meeting Recording & Local Storage
With a handy touchscreen interface, Wave doubles as a portable, standalone recorder.
With 32GB of built-in storage, Wave is capable of storing up to 1,000 hours of audio. A single tap starts recording, while tagging and muting ensure you stay in control.
Future-ready features like AI pre-recording (capturing the last 5 minutes before hitting record) add peace of mind for unscripted moments.

September 25th, 2025 — Following a tremendously successful Early Access period, Farthest Frontier will officially launch into 1.0. on October 23rd, 2025, having grown far beyond its already solid foundation into a definitive new contender in the medieval city builder genre.
During Early Access, Farthest Frontierenjoyed a consistent Very Positive rating on Steam across 16 major updates, over 1.2 million copies sold, and over 1.6 million wishlists. The v1.0 release of Farthest Frontier offers the most comprehensive farming and town management sim available, spearheaded by a plethora of new additions and sharpened mechanics:
Revamped progression with new 142-point Tech Tree, giving players more freedom
Dozens of new buildings
Bridges
New Policy System
Updated animations
And more!
CEO & Creative Director Arthur Bruno on the journey to v1.0:
“Farthest Frontier started out as sort of a self-indulgent passion project, to take a break from ARPGs and make the kind of town-builder game I’d dreamed of making in college, when I was playing games like Settlers 2, Caesar 3 and Ultimate Domain. When we started development I was not sure how much demand there was for town-builders anymore, but Banished came out of nowhere and proved there was still a good-sized audience for the right kind of game.
Farthest Frontier contains a lot of the depth and ideas I’d always wanted to see in the genre, like more robust farming and an intricate, fully-simulated economy where villagers are actually carrying resources and items back and forth. It’s been a huge challenge, especially since we’ve never had more than 8 people on it at a time but Farthest Frontier turned out bigger and better than I had imagined and I am incredibly proud of the team and what we’ve built.”
Whether you’ve already constructed dozens of settlements over multiple playthroughs or you’ve just founded your first village, the full release of Farthest Frontier invites players to challenge their survival instincts and logistical skills with unmatched city-building mechanics. Forge a town in an untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Harvest raw materials, hunt, fish, farm, and trade to sustain your community, ensuring your people’s survival as they contend with the elements, disease, and outside threats.
Farthest Frontier features an abundance of materials to obtain and crops to harvest, dozens of unique buildings to expand your town, and a singularly deep farming system — right down to soil fertility and seasonal rotations. Provide for your people’s needs with numerous basic and luxury goods, beautiful decor, and customizable religions. Keep the settlement secure behind formidable fortifications and an army that’s yours to assemble and maintain, as you fend off invaders eager to plunder your wealth with deadly cavalry and catapults, or focus on building a scenic metropolis in Pacifist Mode.
Farthest Frontier will launch at $34.99 in October, reflecting the significant growth the game has experienced over the past 3 years. This will not impact existing owners of the game, who have been wonderful supporters throughout this journey. The Early Access price ($29.99) will be discounted during the Steam Autumn sale, which begins on September 29th, for those who wish to get it at a lower price before launch. To learn more, you can visit its official website.
Key Features:
Build, Enhance & Advance: Construct over 190 different buildings as you grow your town from a fledgling settlement to a bustling city. Your town center and housing will advance through multiple building tiers as the prosperity and desirability of your town increases and advancements are made in a vast 140+ point Tech Tree. Upgrade production buildings to increase efficiency and enable the manufacturing of more advanced items. Construct a temple and customize your people’s faith with discoverable relics.
The Most Detailed Farming System… Ever: Strategically select from 12 crops with unique growing characteristics and configure crop rotations to maintain soil fertility, avoid heat and frost damage, and prevent the accumulation of diseases. Cultivate your fields over time by removing weeds and rocks, raising fertility, and adjusting soil mixture to achieve maximum crop production to keep your growing population fed.
Advanced Town Simulation: Villagers actively live out their lives and perform their jobs in real-time. Develop roads, construct transport wagons, and set production and storage limits to reduce spoilage and facilitate the efficient movement of goods throughout your settlement.
Randomly Generated Maps: No playthrough is ever quite the same with completely randomized terrain generation and resource distribution. Beautiful, unique biomes and map themes increase replayability, with more extreme maps leading to distinct challenges. Controls allow players to specify the amount of water or mountains they desire, even down to which resources can generate on the map.
Idyllic to Brutal: Fully customizable difficulty options (including a Pacifist mode) allow you to turn off features like invaders, disease, and combat for a more tranquil experience… or to max out the difficulty to truly test your town-builder prowess.
All Them Old-Timey Diseases: Clean drinking water, proper waste disposal, healthy diets for your villagers, and even proper clothing will help combat the variety of diseases and ailments that plagued the medieval era.
Fend Off Invaders: Progress from wood palisades to stone walls, build towers, barracks and stables, and recruit and equip soldiers in the defense of your town as your rising prosperity attracts the attention of raiders and foreign armies seeking plunder.

Early Access release 3 – Key improvements
With the release of Early Access 3, Assetto Corsa EVO delivers significant improvements ranging across physics, audio, and graphics.
[Physics]
A fully recalibrated tyre model – across all compounds- has been initially released in 0.3.0 Open Beta to gather feedback from a wide variety of sim racing hardware users and FFB settings. During the Open Beta, KUNOS also addressed an issue related to tyre damping, which has been limiting the tyre feeling on FFB across a variety of scenarios, these will release today with version 0.3.3. Release 3 physics update include several improvements allowing the tires to respond more accurately to temperature, load, speed, and camber changes, delivering a more dynamic and rewarding driving experience. This is supported by a brand-new proprietary suspension algorithm and an upgraded damping system running at 1000 Hz, significantly enhancing vehicle feedback during transitions, braking, and directional changes. Together, these improvements add a whole new layer to driving simulation, where the car will more naturally communicate with the driver and allow more subtle corrections and, overall, a tighter feeling with any car.
[Audio]
Every car now features uniquely detailed ignition and startup sounds, with refined engine timbre and dynamic responses tied to RPM and engine inertia. Further realism comes through enhanced driveline audio, calibrated throttle lag, and torque response that closely mimic real-world behavior. Backfire effects have also been reworked for authenticity, delivering sharp, context-sensitive pops and crackles. These elements provide deeper mechanical feedback and elevate the overall driving immersion.
[Graphics & UI]
The graphics engine now features improved global illumination, optimized CPU/GPU performance – with most noticeable improvements in crowded scenes, like multiplayer races – and significantly reduced VRAM usage, addressing some of the previous framerate issues. Post-processing effects, like motion blur, have also been refined for greater visual fidelity. On the User Interface front, the Multi-Function Display (MFD) has been expanded with customizable controls, real-time and official leaderboards, and detailed input settings. Additional updates include improved speedometer, tyres, and gear widgets -now featuring pit limiter indicators – for a more informative and race-focused experience.
New Game Contents
Alongside the new Multiplayer mode, the game’s content is expanded with 2 additional tracks and 9 new cars (3 for each category) – a variety of fun and exciting vehicles to suit every taste!
