July 1, 2019 – Nickelodeon has some hot new retail items exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that are only available at the Nick booth (#4113). Nickelodeon is celebrating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants by inviting fans to enter into the world of Bikini Bottom at Comic-Con International: San Diego July 18-21, 2019. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Exclusive Shredder Figure

The Shredder is back! Based on Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Shredder figure comes ready to attack! The Turtles’ ultimate nemesis stands nearly 6” tall and features a ball-joint articulated head with a sinister facial expression and glowing red eyes, a body molded in a translucent brown with gray, metallic-sprayed armor, and shredding claw weapon accessories. CBS All Access is bringing the “Star Trek” universe to the San Diego Comic-Con Exhibit Hall, Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21, where fans are invited to step aboard the U.S.S. Discovery and travel to strange and distant lands through an immersive transporter experience. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet some of their favorite “Star Trek” talent in person with meet-and-greets in the booth (#4237), on Saturday, July 20. Comic-Con badges are required for entry.

JEAN-LUC PICARD: THE FIRST DUTY EXHIBIT

In celebration of Patrick Stewart’s return to his iconic STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION role, “Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty” is a special exhibition showcasing original props, costumes and other artifacts tracing Picard’s life and Starfleet career. Items on display include his cherished Ressikan flute, the legendary Picard family album, his Starfleet uniforms, models of ships Picard captained and all that remains of the “Borg Queen.” The gallery also features exclusive first looks at costumes and other items featured in the upcoming CBS All Access series STAR TREK: PICARD. Visitors will have the first chance to purchase exclusive STAR TREK: PICARD merchandise and opportunities for exclusive giveaways. STAR TREK UNIVERSE EXCLUSIVE PINS
A number of exclusive, limited quantity “Star Trek” pins will be available to fans during Comic-Con. All week long, a Starfleet Headquarters visitors badge will be available for those who visit and complete the “Star Trek” transporter experience at the “Star Trek” universe booth. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday, a limited quantity of pins featuring the debut of two characters from the upcoming CBS All Access animated show STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS will also be available from the booth. At the “Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty” museum experience at Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts, fans can get an exclusive replica pin of the Picard family crest as seen in STAR TREK: PICARD.

June 27, 2019 – The 6th annual Her Universe Fashion Show returns to San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC). Critically acclaimed as one of the must-see events at SDCC, 24 designers will compete with their original geek couture designs to win the ultimate prize – the opportunity to collaborate with actress and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano, Star Wars) on a Her Universe fashion collection for Hot Topic. Presented by Her Universe, Hot Topic and DreamWorks Animation’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, this year’s highly anticipated show will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 6PM in the Harbor Ballroom of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Two winners will be chosen, one by the audience and one by an expert panel of judges. Joining this year’s judges panel are Ed LaBay (VP/GMM, Hot Topic), Liz Muñoz (CEO, Torrid), Lisa Baldzicki (VP Parks Merchandise & Product Development, Disney Parks), Meghan Camarena (@Strawburry17, Producer, Host, Actress), Merit Leighton (Voice of Frosta, on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power), Michaela Dietz (Actress, Voice of Amethyst, Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe), Kristi Siedow Thompson (Designer, 2018 Audience Winner), Cynthia Kirkland (Designer, 2018 Judge’s Winner) and Jane Burson (Designer, 2018 Singer Sewing Winner).

The Cartoon Network Junior Design Showcase will also return to The Her Universe Fashion Show. Her Universe and Cartoon Network held a competition for Junior Designers between the ages of 6-17, and the winners will showcase their Steven Universe-inspired designs when they hit the runway. The winners of the Cartoon Network Junior Design Contest will also design a collection with Her Universe for BoxLunch in 2020.

This year’s content sponsor will be The Pop Insider and they will bring everything about the Fashion Show and pop culture news to one place. Espionage Cosmetics, leading nerd makeup company and self-proclaimed “nerd misfits,” will return as the hair and makeup sponsor to create the looks for the Her Universe runway models.

Check-in begins at 1PM on Thursday, July 18th in the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel Harbor Ballroom, and doors open at 5:15PM, with the show beginning at 6PM. The Her Universe Fashion Show is free for San Diego Comic-Con attendees and all ages are welcome.

June 27, 2019 – New heroes arrive in two upcoming LEGO Overwatch sets, Wrecking Ball ($19.99), piloted by fan favorite Hammond the hamster, and Junkrat & Roadhog ($49.99), inspired by the Junkertown map, which will be seen for the first time at the Blizzard Entertainment booth (#140) at San Diego Comic-Con before they are available in October this year.

In addition to revealing two new building sets, the LEGO Group is announcing they are hosting a day-long Twitch Rivals Overwatch tournament on July 25 in which teams are battling for a special prize! Stay tuned for this and more exclusive surprises soon!

Knott’s Berry Farm to Celebrate National Fried Chicken Day

June 27, 2019 – Knott’s Berry Farm had a very distinct start; it is THE only theme park that was born from food. Before the many attractions and rollercoasters were installed, the Knott family began a small business by selling berries and fried chicken to Buena Park locals.

The history of Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant started in June 1934 when Cordelia Knott served the first fried chicken dinner meal for 65 cents each on the land that is today known as Knott’s Berry Farm. To make ends meet during the Great Depression, Cordelia served these chicken dinners on her best wedding china. The success of the chicken dinners was immediate, and by 1940, visitors were standing in line for hours to try Cordelia’s famous fried chicken.

Mrs. Knott’s signature fried chicken dinner meal continues to be served with its family-style dining that includes deliciously herb-seasoned fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed green salad, cherry rhubarb, kernel corn, freshly-made buttermilk biscuits with butter and boysenberry preserve; and a slice of Mrs. Knott’s scrumptious boysenberry pie for dessert. Each meal is freshly prepared by the Knott’s culinary team with the freshest ingredients. Today the kitchen serves an average of 1,000 chicken meals per day and serves a grand total of 1.5 million guests per year.
