Albion Online Reveals Major Visual Overhaul and Content Update

Albion Online, the free-to-play fantasy sandbox MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive has announced a new update, Radiant Wilds, launching 13 April 2026. Along with a number of performance improvements and new features, the update will bring a total visual overhaul to Albion’s open world to give a fresh new look while maintaining its characteristic style for veterans and new players alike.

Built for modern systems, Albion Online gains new lighting, new water shaders, improved textures and new details like vegetation and insects to bring even more life to Albion. The Sandbox Interactive team has focused on enhancing the individual feel of each biome, with regional vegetation, gusts of sand, snow and pollen, and detailed terrain.

The visual changes come with no increase to required specs. Players will also see improvements to the overall performance, especially in combat, and will gain access to a brand new feature called The Armory which will provide suggested builds for different gameplay modes based on real data. The Arena, which currently offers a 5v5 mode, will also add a 1v1 mode for players looking to get accustomed to solo PvP in a non-lethal space.

Ahead of the update’s launch, Albion Online will also host its Rites of Spring event beginning on 31 March 2026. The event will run for two weeks where players will be able to find Spring Treasure Chests popping up across the world, and get their hands on chocolate eggs for Fame Boosts, rare Cottontail eggs which can be raised into bunny mounts, and plenty more chocolatey treats.

Radiant Wilds Key Features:

Visual overhaul: To bring Albion up to a new visual standard changes will include improved lighting, better colouring and contrast, and new visual textures.
The Armory: A brand-new feature which uses player data to recommend builds for different game modes. It can be accessed directly or via other in-game UIs.
1v1 Arena: A new version of the existing 5v5 Arena, allowing players to sign up to battle 1v1 in a timed, non-lethal arena to get accustomed to PvP without losing gear. The Crystal Arena will also receive a new map.
Enhanced Controller Support: Significant changes to controller support will ensure combat and UI navigation are smoother and more intuitive across all platforms.
Performance improvements: Technical improvements have been added aimed at delivering smoother gameplay, especially during large battles.

Bethesda Game Studios is excited to announce that Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 7. The PS5 launch arrives in tandem with Terran Armada and Free Lanes, Starfield’s next major content drops, releasing on all platforms on April 7.

Starfield represents one of Bethesda Game Studios’ most ambitious projects, and since launch in 2023 the game has continued to grow. New content, game systems, fan‑requested features, a story expansion, quality-of-life updates, and over 1000 community Creations have deeply enriched the universe.

The additions coming on April 7 represent the biggest update to the game since launch, marking the most complete version of Starfield for new players to jump in and veteran players to discover what’s new across the Settled Systems.

Coming to PlayStation 5

Starting on April 7, Starfield will be available on PlayStation 5, inviting players everywhere to embark on cosmic journeys and explore the universe straight from the couch.

Starfield on PlayStation 5 takes advantage of the console hardware, integrating the lightbar, adaptive triggers, touchpad, and more. On the PlayStation 5 Pro, players can select a Pro Performance Mode to prioritize a higher-target FPS or select Pro Visual Mode.

Bethesda Game Studios aims to make it easier than ever for new players to jump in, while continuing to expand the experience for those already exploring the Settled Systems. Starfield’s base edition will be available on all platforms for $49.99, welcoming even more players into the universe.

Free Lanes Update & Terran Armada Story DLC

Terran Armada introduces a new questline across the Settled Systems, with new characters, locations, enemies, quests, systems, and rewards. Players get the chance to shape the future of humanity in space as they combat the incursions of the Terran Armada’s robotic forces in this brand new story DLC.

Free Lanes is a free update that adds significant new features and systems designed to deepen the core Starfield experience for both new and returning players, most significantly opening up interplanetary travel within systems. With this update, players can use cruise mode to travel from planet to planet within a star system, where they’ll experience frequent encounters and activities and spend some quality time on their ship with their crew. In EverRail, the world has frozen over, and humanity’s last hope is a massive battery-powered train roaring across an endless icebound frontier. Players must build, scavenge and survive across a vast, procedurally generated wasteland where mobility is everything, and momentum means life. If the train stops for too long, the cold closes in and the line ends for everyone the moment the train’s battery and the manifest hit zero.

Breaking the Loop: Tricore Gameplay

EverRail refuses to keep players locked inside their mobile base. Players will experience the game’s Tricore Gameplay, a threefold system requiring mastery of distinct modes of traversal, either as a single-player or up to four player co-op:

On Rails (The Train): Players must steer, upgrade, and maintain a massive, high-speed train. It serves as a fortress and lifeline in motion. The engine generates power only while in motion, creating constant pressure to push forward while managing resources, repairs, and passenger needs.
In Air (The Glider): Unlike survival games that keep players grounded, EverRail utilizes verticality. Players can take to the skies by deploying a glider for third-person scouting, harvesting energy resources and uncovering secrets hidden in the frostbitten landscape. Aerial reconnaissance is essential to planning safe routes and keeping the train’s battery charged.
On Foot (Expeditions): To gather resources and rescue survivors, players must stop the engine and brave the cold before it overtakes them. Third-person roguelike expeditions send players into abandoned settlements, frozen forests and lost ruins filled with enemies, environmental hazards and high-risk rewards.

Survival Is Momentum

At the heart of EverRail is a simple rule: move or freeze. The train runs on a battery that recharges only while driving, and drains whenever it stops, turning every expedition into a race against time. Players must weigh risk vs. reward as they decide when to halt for supplies, push forward into the unknown and how to allocate energy across the train’s expanding systems.

Your Crew Is Your Lifeline

The EverRail Steam Next Fest demo introduces players to the game’s take on a permadeath successor system, a high-stakes twist on traditional survival gameplay mechanics. In the game’s frozen world, the passenger manifest represents the player’s life counter. If a player falls to the elements or combat during an expedition, they are not revived as the same character and immediately assume the role of another passenger on the manifest. As long as there are survivors onboard, the journey continues; if the last soul on board perishes, the line ends permanently.

Every rescue matters. Every loss lingers. And every decision affects the fragile ecosystem aboard the train.
