Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss Investigation Trailer Released

As the release of Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss draws near, NACON and developer Big Bad Wolf are pleased to unveil a new gameplay trailer entirely dedicated to one of the game’s core pillars: investigation. This video plunges players into the heart of Noah’s investigation in a seemingly abandoned underwater mining station, where his sanity is put to the test against unspeakable horrors.

To discover the unique atmosphere and original mechanics of this narrative investigation game before its release on April 16, players can try the public demo on PC during the Steam Next Fest on February 23rd.

This new trailer takes us through the oppressive corridors of the Ocean-I mining station, which Noah finds deserted. The location bears the marks of a fierce struggle and a devastating madness: claw marks on the walls, strange runes painted in blood, unknown organic matter, a severed arm… all clues that point to violent and occult events. To understand what happened, the player must use their wits and the abilities of their personal AI called KEY.

The trailer highlights several key mechanics:

  • Clue Analysis: KEY is permanently connected to the database of the ANCILE (the agency Noah works for). This allows it to cross-reference what Noah finds in the field with what other investigators have encountered in previous cases. Analyzing evidence allows KEY to determine the composition of materials, which in turn unlocks new frequencies for its sonar. These frequencies can then be used to track elements with a similar composition.
  • The Sonar: A multitasking tool, the sonar helps Noah navigate dimly lit areas and discover hidden paths by highlighting volumes. Another feature allows it to track clues by tuning into specific frequencies. In the trailer, the player tracks bloodstains through the station to learn more about the attack on the Ocean-I personnel.
  • Object Manipulation: Every object can hold a secret. By inspecting evidence from all angles, Noah and KEY can uncover additional information and hidden clues essential for progressing in their investigation.

Dive into an investigation where every decision shapes your destiny and your sanity. In Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, each chapter presents a dilemma: will you choose the obvious but perilous path, accelerating your descent into madness, or the more subtle trail that requires thorough investigation to make the right choice? Be warned, every discovery comes at a price, and your decisions will directly impact the end of your story.

Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch 1.3 Update Trailer

Ocean Drive Studio and Kakao Games have announced that a major new update is now available for Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch, adding quality of life improvements on PC.

Update 1.3 brings new Quick Expeditions to Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch, allowing players to jump into shorter runs of the game with fewer battles and events. Quick Expeditions are unlocked after finishing Act 3 for the first time, and can be toggled from the Set Out screen, giving players a new fast-paced experience for bite-sized turn-based tactics sessions.

The new update also adds the Phantom Arena, a brand new mode where players can save their party build from a previously completed expedition, and take it into fresh combat scenarios, with new Side Challenges and rewards on offer.

Finally, enemy difficulty can now be adjusted in both Phantom Arena and expeditions using the Enemy Mastery Slider, letting players set the enemy challenge level without it being tied to Trial conditions. Changing the Enemy Mastery levels affects all enemy stats except for their movement. You can check out the full patch notes on Steam here.

Update 1.3 for Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is available now for PC, and is coming soon to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

STYX: BLADES OF GREED IS NOW AVAILABLE ON CONSOLES AND PC

The most infamous goblin is back! Cyanide Studio and NACON are pleased to announce that the stealth game Styx: Blades of Greed officially launches today on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). Set in a medieval fantasy world, players step into the role of Styx, a devious goblin with a devastatingly dark sense of humor and a true master of stealth, as he hunts for Quartz — a resource as precious as it is dangerous. Explore vast vertical environments, master new tools and powers, and uncover the sinister presence hidden within the Quartz.

Styx: Blades of Greed builds on the proven formula of the first two installments and perfects it by placing freedom and creativity at the core of the experience. Every situation becomes a playground where intelligence, tactics, and experimentation are your greatest weapons. There is never just one way forward: players invent their own solutions to stealth puzzles by sneaking, trapping, or assassinating enemies without leaving a trace, greatly enhancing replayability.

Styx has many new tricks up his sleeve. He can harness the mysterious powers of Quartz to control his enemies—or even time itself! The master of stealth also gains new traversal tools: a glider that allows him to soar through the air, metal claws to climb sheer surfaces, and a grappling hook to reach previously inaccessible areas. Players can fully customize Styx by upgrading his powers and tools through a skill tree and equipping runes, shaping the gameplay to match their personal playstyle. For the first time in the series, the game adopts a Metroidvania-style approach, gradually unlocking access to new areas that were previously out of reach.

Developed on Unreal® Engine 5, the game delivers vast, stunning environments to explore freely.

Whether you are discovering the world of Styx for the first time or are a long-time fan, it has never been so much fun to be greedy!

Emberville Convergence Showcase Trailer

Revealed just shy of a month ago, Emberville quickly caught viewers off guard as Cygnus Cross lifted the curtain on what the team has been quietly developing for the past three years. Today, during the Convergence Showcase livestream, the developer returned with another surprise, announcing the latest addition to Emberville’s growing voice cast, alongside an expanded role for a previously revealed fan-favorite.

Already confirmed as a core cast member, Alex Jordan (The Alters, Cyberpunk 2077, Dragon Age: The Veilguard) has officially stepped into a dual role on Emberville, serving not only as a voice actor but also as the game’s Performance Director. The move further cements what Cygnus Cross has described as an all-star roster of talent, both behind the mic and behind the scenes.

“The thing that really makes any project stand out to me is the developers themselves, the people at the core of it all,” said Jordan. “You can have the best concept in the world, but if the team isn’t utterly devoted and approaching it with a level of detail and nuance, the result will always be mediocre. Cygnus Cross showed me that not only is Emberville an incredibly cool idea, but they also have that detail and nuance in overflowing abundance. Their care and commitment to creating something with legacy and quality for their players is what truly makes me excited about Emberville. Oh, and I lied to Doug about him getting sausages to help get the deal across the line… don’t tell him.”

Previously revealed cast member Doug Cockle (The Witcher, The Alters) echoed that enthusiasm when speaking about joining the project. “The passion, skill, and experience going into the development of this game is phenomenal,” said Cockle. “I’m always attracted to projects where the team has a clear goal in mind, and the drive and knowledge to reach for it, especially when that goal pushes boundaries. That’s exciting to be part of. Plus, they told me there would be small sausages. I like small sausages.”

Also revealed during today’s showcase is the addition of Abubakar Salim, best known as the voice of Bayek of Siwa in Assassin’s Creed: Origins and as Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon. Salim joins the cast as the latest high-profile addition to Emberville’s lineup.

“I look for projects that take risks, and Emberville is absolutely pushing the envelope,” said Salim. “Seeing how this team is deconstructing the genre is inspiring, and doing it with such intellect and intent is awesome.”

With its cast continuing to grow and development momentum building, Emberville is shaping up to be one of the most personality-driven titles of the year. More details on the game (and its apparently very sausage-motivated ensemble) will be shared in the months ahead.

Insta360 Link 2 Pro vs. Link 2C Pro Review: Which 4K Webcam is Best for Streaming?

For the longest time, buying a webcam felt like paying for a parking ticket. You did it because you had to, not because you wanted to. You’d spend a hundred bucks, plug it in, and still look like a potato. A 1080p, slightly out-of-focus potato. That’s why so many of us in the streaming and content game moved to using mirrorless cameras with dummy batteries and capture cards. It’s a hassle, sure, but at least you look sharp.

But I’ve been testing the Insta360 Link 2 Pro and its chill little sibling, the Link 2C Pro, for a bit now. And honestly? I’m starting to wonder if my desk really needs all that extra gear. These things are genuinely impressive, even if they make some weird choices that had me scratching my head.

Let’s break it down, gamer to gamer.

The “Big Sensor” Energy

Here’s the thing about cameras: size matters. You can throw all the AI and software tricks you want at an image, but if your sensor is the size of a grain of rice, your footage is going to look grainy in low light. It’s just physics. The headline feature for both the Link 2 Pro and the 2C Pro is the 1/1.3-inch sensor.

If you aren’t a camera nerd, let me explain why that’s a big deal. Most webcams use tiny sensors that struggle the second you turn off your ring light. This sensor is massive by comparison—it’s roughly the same size as what you’d find in a flagship smartphone like the Samsung S24 Ultra or a high-end drone.

What does that mean for you?

It means natural background blur. Real bokeh. Not that fake, software-generated blur that accidentally erases your headphones when you turn your head. I’m talking about actual optical depth of field. When I hold up a controller or a new piece of tech to the lens, the focus snaps to it, and my face gently blurs out. It looks expensive. It looks professional.

And low light? Forget about it. I tend to game in what my family affectionately calls a “cave.” Even with just the glow of my monitors, the Link 2 Pro pulls a clean image. No mud, no static noise dancing in the shadows. It’s refreshing.

The Tale of Two Pros: To Spin or Not to Spin?

So, what’s the difference between the Link 2 Pro ($249) and the Link 2C Pro ($199)?

It’s the neck.

The Link 2 Pro sits on a 2-axis gimbal. It looks like a little robot (think something like Wall-E’s cousin). It physically moves to follow you around the room. If you’re the type of streamer who gets up to show off a fit, or if you’re teaching a class and pacing back and forth, this is killer. The tracking is smooth, like really smooth. It doesn’t feel jerky or robotic – it just floats with you!

The Link 2C Pro? It’s the exact same camera, same sensor, same image quality, but it’s fixed. It doesn’t move. It can still use AI to crop in and follow your face (digital zooming), but it won’t physically turn.

Honestly? For 90% of us who just sit in a Secretlab chair for 8 hours straight, the 2C Pro is the smarter buy. Save the fifty bucks. Buy a new game. Unless you really need that physical movement, the static version is sleek, low-profile, and less likely to break if you accidentally smack it.

The Audio Surprise

I usually tell people to never, ever use a webcam microphone. They usually sound like you’re talking from inside a tin can located in a bathroom down the hall.

But Insta360 actually put some work in here. The noise cancellation is aggressive (in a good way). I did a typing test with my mechanical keyboard (Blue switches, sorry not sorry), and the camera managed to cut out a good chunk of the clatter while keeping my voice clear. It’s not going to replace my Shure SM7B, obviously. But if you’re just hopping on a Discord call or a quick work meeting? It’s totally passable.

The “What Were They Thinking?” Moment

Okay, I have to roast them for a second. It’s 2026. We have USB-C everywhere. Thunderbolt is standard. So why, why does the Link 2 Pro series use USB-C USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.X?

I’m serious. The data transfer speeds are capped at 480Mbps. Because of this bottleneck, the camera can’t send uncompressed 4K video to your PC. It has to compress the footage using H.264 or MJPEG before it leaves the cable.

Does it look bad? No. To the naked eye, it looks crisp. But if you’re a pixel peeper like me, or if you record locally for YouTube reviews, you lose a tiny bit of that raw editing flexibility compared to something like the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra, which uses USB 3.0 for uncompressed video.

It’s not a dealbreaker for streaming (Twitch is going to compress your stream anyway) but it feels like a weird corner to cut on a “Pro” device.

The Heat and The Mac Struggle

Another thing to keep in mind: these things run hot. Like, toasty hot.

If you’re running 4K with HDR and tracking turned on, the chassis gets warm to the touch. It has overheat protection, so it’ll shut down before it melts, but maybe don’t leave it in direct sunlight during a summer marathon stream.

And for my macOS friends… grab a drink before you set this up. The software can be a bit finicky on Macs, specifically with getting the “Virtual Camera” driver to show up in other apps due to Apple’s security permissions. It works, but you might have to dig through your System Settings to grant it permission. It’s annoying, just giving you a heads-up.

The Verdict

So, should you buy it? If you want the absolute best raw image quality and don’t care about size or smart features, there is a more expensive alternative on the market.

However, the Insta360 Link 2 Pro (and especially the 2C Pro) offers a much better package for the average human. The AI features like Whiteboard Mode (which flattens and enhances a whiteboard view) and the incredible autofocus make it a joy to use.

It captures the vibe. It handles tricky lighting like a champ. And it stops you from looking like a potato.

If you’re just sitting at your desk? Get the Link 2C Pro. It’s the sweet spot. If you’re a pacer, a teacher, or a chaotic streamer who moves around? Get the Link 2 Pro.

Just remember to check your USB ports, and maybe keep a fan nearby.
