Kenshiro’s exciting reveal was made at AnimeJapan 2026, one of the world’s largest anime events. Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) is a Japanese manga franchise created by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. It centers on Kenshiro, sole successor to the ancient Hokuto Shinken martial art, and his fight against evil in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by nuclear war.

Baobab Studios Acquires Exclusive Rights to Top Roblox Titles

Baobab Studios, the Emmy Award-winning animation studio led by Eric Darnell (Madagascar franchise) and Maureen Fan (FarmVille), has acquired exclusive rights—including film and television—to a broad slate of the most widely played Roblox titles. The studio is unveiling the first three properties heading to market: Natural Disaster Survival, Barry’s Prison Run, and Deepwoken.

Baobab is actively developing these properties as animated feature-length films and series, working in collaboration with the original creators to expand these worlds for global audiences.

Together, the three titles have generated nearly 10 billion visits. The studio’s slate focuses on games with long-term staying power, active multi-generational communities, and strong foundations for storytelling, prioritizing deep, prolonged engagement over short-term spikes.

“We’re not just looking at scale—we’re looking at what sustains,” said Maureen Fan, CEO and co-founder of Baobab Studios, who previously oversaw the $3 billion FarmVille franchise as VP of Games at Zynga. “Having built our own Roblox games, we sought titles that combine reach with retention, deepen engagement, and clear world-building that can carry powerfully into film and television.”

Natural Disaster Survival: Created by iconic games maker Stickmasterluke (Luke Weber) in 2008, this game is one of the platform’s earliest breakout titles having amassed more than 4.1 billion visits and remains one of the longest-running titles on Roblox. Known for its replayable, physics-driven survival scenarios, it’s an environmental survivalist game located on an island using the engine’s physics to create chaotic, unscripted moments. Astoundingly, the game has remained in the top 50 of all Roblox experiences for 16 years and successfully courted new generations of fans for over a decade and a half, resulting in billions of visits and an evergreen audience spanning current kids to Millennials and Gen Z players driven by deep nostalgia.

A top 50 game of all time and a prominent favorite among YouTubers and streamers that spawned a wave of story-driven platforming imitators. A core differentiator is its strong comedic engine, driven by an iconic main character and a cast of sidekicks who resonate deeply with younger demographics. Its broad appeal recently led to an official partnership with LEGO.

Halloween Breaks GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS at PAX East

Halloween, the upcoming asymmetrical stealth horror game developed and published IllFonic, co-published Gun Interactive, alongside partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front, had a major impact this past weekend at PAX East, drawing thousands of attendees to experience its first-ever playable demo, attend a highly anticipated panel, and take part in a successful GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title attempt for the “Largest gathering of people dressed as Michael Myers (Halloween franchise).”

Throughout the weekend, eager fans–inspired by the terrifying character from master horror filmmaker John Carpenter’s 1978 film–lined up to get hands-on with the show-exclusive demo, which offered an intense 1v4 multiplayer experience set in the shadowy streets of Haddonfield Heights. Players stepped into the roles of either the relentless Michael Myers or desperate Civilians, navigating a tense, stealth-driven game of survival that faithfully captures the atmosphere of the 1978 classic.

On Saturday, March 28, IllFonic hosted a packed panel exploring how developers and original creators collaborate to build authentic interactive worlds. The discussion featured Ryan Freimann of Compass International Pictures, alongside IllFonic’s Jared Gerritzen and Jordan Mathewson, with legendary filmmaker John Carpenter joining virtually. The panel offered fans rare insight into the creative process behind adapting one of horror’s most iconic films into an interactive experience.

Later that afternoon, IllFonic, Trancas International Films, and fans made horror history. In front of the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, 254 attendees dressed as Michael Myers gathered to officially break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest assembly of the iconic slasher. Donning the signature mask, blue jumpsuit, and prop knife, participants united in a chilling tribute that transformed the streets of Boston into a sea of “Shapes,” marking one of the event’s most memorable moments.

The Baltic Battalion is a new army specialisation that can be combined with any existing U.S. specialisation to create the game’s first coalition battlegroup, increasing tactical options by representing the combined forces of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

With very limited air power, the Baltic States compensate by fielding a strong mix of motorised and mechanised troops equipped with European-made vehicles and weapons. The Baltic Battalion brings cutting-edge European weaponry, sophisticated infantry formations, and next-generation vehicles built for layered defence, mobility, and quick reaction battles. This provides a wide variety of tactical options.

Designed for both newcomers to the genre and RTS veterans alike, Broken Arrow features large-scale, real-time modern warfare tactics in both a single-player campaign and intense 5v5 multiplayer PvP battles, all set in the Baltic region. With a unique army-building system, deep unit customisation tools available to players from launch, and over 350 realistic military units, the possibilities are endless and replayability is guaranteed.
