Event[0] to Release in September

PARIS – July 13, 2016IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU TYPE… Event[0], the award-winning sci-fi narrative exploration game in which players must build a relationship with a lonely spaceship computer to get home, is coming to Windows PC and Mac this September via Steam and the Humble Store by Humble Bundle. A new teaser trailer for the game that poses the question, “What would you say to a computer if your life depended on it?” can be viewed at event0game.com.

The indie game first drew attention as a concept demo that won multiple indie gaming awards, including Innovation at BIG 2015 and Student Award winner at EIGD 2014. The first-person narrative exploration game transports players to the desolated spacecraft, Nautilus. As a player, your only companion is an insecure AI entity named Kaizen with whom you interact by typing messages on computer terminals throughout the ship. The game’s multi-layered story emerges organically as players communicate with Kaizen, freely explore 3D environments, gather information and solve hacking puzzles.

Set in a retrofuture inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey, Solaris andBrave New World, Event[0] is a game about building a personal relationship with a machine using natural language. Kaizen can procedurally generate over two million lines of dialog and the AI entity has a strong personality influenced by human input. Players communicate by typing messages into a computer, and Kaizen responds. As in any relationship, there can be gratitude, disappointment or jealousy, and Kaizen reacts differently depending on its mood. By working through the fears and anxieties of your virtual companion you can ultimately find your way back to Earth—while unraveling the cryptic history of the ship and the 1980s society from which it emerged.

Event[0] began as a six-month student project before evolving into a full title under the auspices of Ocelot Society, which was founded by key members of the team. The game is backed by France’s CNC public arts organization and by the Indie Fund, a funding source for independent developers launched as an alternative to traditional publisher models.

Event[0] takes me back to the kind of magic I felt playing Zork as a kid,” said Ron Carmel, Co-Founder of Indie Fund and Co-Creator of World of Goo. “There are moments where I can suspend disbelief and feel like I’m actually having a conversation with an advanced AI, probing its inner workings with words.”

The game is created using Unity Engine 5 and utilizes physics-based rendering and advanced lighting techniques to create richly detailed environments inside and outside the ship (players can leave the ship for breathtakingly scary spacewalks). Eschewing a traditional game score, all sound, including incidental music, comes from items in the environment. The ship is essentially the AI computer’s body, and reacts to Kaizen’s mood by making different sounds—which can give the player valuable clues.

Event[0] is like our AI child: over the past two years it has grown from a vibrant but limited concept into a fully realized narrative exploration game,” said Léonard Carpentier, Co-founder and CEO of Ocelot Society. “Our team has created an evocative world for players to explore and Kaizen can’t wait to find new humans to become best friends with!”

More information on Event[0] will be released in the coming weeks if Kaizen can be convinced to cooperate.

LA Haunted Hayride Lets Riders Off the Cart with Multiple Paths

(July 8, 2016) Ten Thirty One Productions (TTO) is excited to announce the return of the most popular Halloween attraction in the country, the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride coming this October. TTO will be bringing its biggest and best scares to both coasts for the most unique and immersive Halloween experience in town.

LAHH

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride returns to its darker and more disturbing roots with the announcement of this year’s brand new and most innovated theme to date, Secret Society. The Secret Society will unveil two different experiences, Elite or Deranged. Your status will choose your path and experience throughout this 30 acre live attraction.  For the first time ever, Hayriders will leave the safety of their wagons to confront their secret society initiation on foot, closer than ever to the inhabitants of the corn maze.  Hayride regulars may recognize some ghosts of Hayrides past which will benefit them in making it to the end of their initiation.

“I feel like a kid at Christmas.  Our Hayriders are going to have the time of their lives being part of our Secret Society of Halloween.  We’ve just raised the bar so high on ourselves. The moment our guests enter our gates, they are members, part of our secret society, our world,” explains TTO CEO and Haunted Hayride Founder, Melissa Carbone.

Fan favorite, Trick or Treat will be returning in double the size this year and three times the mischief as the suburb of Hell welcomes trick or treaters to knock on their doors! House of Shadows will also take on a new sinister force as NBC Universal takes over the space in the newly named Ouija 2, House of Shadows. In the first partnership of this kind that the LA Haunted Hayride has ever allowed, unsuspecting patrons will be trapped in an extremely dark, almost blacked out walk through of a colossally possessed demonic house.

If you’ve ever thought about going to Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, this is the year to do it.

The terror of Los Angeles Haunted Hayride starts on October 1, 2016 and will be open from Thursday through Sundays from October 1st – October 31st, 2016. General Admission is $44 and VIP passes that surpass the line are $61, and there are a limited number of Hayride Only Passes $32, that are expected to sell out during the pre-Sale. Pre-sale for tickets will begin July 15th. Visit www.losangeleshauntedhayride.com for complete details.

MilitAnt Launch Trailer

July 12, 2016 – Created by Xibalba Studios for the PlayStation®4 and PC (Steam™), MilitAnt is a fast twitch side-scrolling blastacular action platformer that launched worldwide today on Steam. Its PlayStation®4 version hits the US today while the European invasion is set for July 14. The PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®Vita launches will be announced at a later date and will support Cross-Buy and Cross-Save with PS4.

“We are proud to launch MilitAnt on PS4 and PC. MilitAnt is the type of shooter armed with nostalgia and advancing difficulty. It should feel both familiar and completely exotic at the same time. Most importantly, MilitAnt brings the fun back into side-scrolling shooters, which has been sorely missed recently,” said Ricardo Villarreal, CEO, Xibalba Studios.

Spawned from an incubation program, MilitAnt has earned numerous awards, such as the “Best Shooter” award from the Intel Level Up Game Demo Contest. The game was also selected as a nominee for Game Connection America’s “Best Project” award. Xibalba won ESA’s (Entertainment Software Association) Professional Developer category at Video Juegos MX for MilitAnt.

In MilitAnt, you play as an Ant. Deep underground, the Ants guard Crystalite which is the most precious resource. It is the chief fuel behind most modern Insect technology, from day-to-day tools to advanced weaponry. Fair trade among the many kingdoms has brought about long years of peace and prosperity, but there grows tension over the resource with some factions wanting to control it. The more envious factions have been gaining influence. War looms on the horizon.

MilitAnt opens with a sudden invasion. Termites have overrun the Ants’ colony! All seems lost. And yet, one brave Ant warrior (you) rises to the challenge. From the familiar depths of the colony’s mines, you must venture into the strange world above. When not soaring through the sky or visiting the Beetles’ mysterious realm, you’ll find yourself escaping from the jungle or being stalked in a bleak wasteland: each stage of the journey is beautiful yet dangerous, exotic and unique. Massive bosses stand in your way, each with an amazing battle theme composed by award-winner Gerard K. Marino.

In MilitAnt, players can gather quite an arsenal, from flamethrowers and sentry guns to electric beam rifles and more! And as an Ant, the warrior can carry weapons in all four hands. Preparation is key: only by unlocking and equipping the best combinations in each situation can he win victory and save the colony.

The Solus Project Xbox One Launch July 15

Prague/Uppsala  11th July 2016 – Publisher Grip Digital and developer Teotl Studios are excited to announce today that their ever-evolving exploration-adventure game The Solus Project, already a hit on Steam, will touch down on Xbox One on Friday 15 July. The totally updated final version of The Solus Project offers every player a rich single-player story, packed with deep exploration and adventure, and an exciting and harsh extra terrestrial environment that challenges every player’s survival skills from beginning to end.

The Solus Project strands players on an alien planet and challenges them to get to grips with changing, hostile environment while struggling to find a way to send a signal home – and save the human race in the process. Planet Earth has been destroyed and what remains of mankind lingers on in a small fleet of ships near Pluto. As the last hope for our species, players are sent to scout a distant planet as a potential location for a colony.

After years of drifting through space, when the right new home seems to have been found, disaster strikes, and your ship is destroyed on entering the mysterious planet’s orbit – only you survive. With team members dead and all your equipment gone, you must cope with the stark reality that you are completely alone and must learn survival tactics to explore, gain vital information in secret locations, and send a message for help.

Key Features in The Solus Project include:

·         EXPLORATION: Unlock the depths of the uncharted planet, and discover the secrets buried deep below. Delve into huge cave systems and tombs and uncover more than 200 secrets.

·         ADVENTURE: Spelunk through 10 large, entirely handcrafted levels including five islands and five large tombs/caves.

·         ROLE-PLAYING: Be a pioneer, an archaeologist, and an astronaut to explore a mysterious alien planet. The adventure has a beginning and an end, but it is a harsh world. Your death means the end of mankind. Save humanity and rebuild a communication device to phone home, by scavenging useful items.

·         ATMOSPHERE: Soak in the rich, fully dynamic environment. An alien day and night cycle and a dynamic weather system are synchronized to calculate everything from temperature, wind, humidity, cloud coverage impact on the climate, and more. It handles ocean tides. Plants respond to the climate. Storms form. Earthquakes happen. Watch out!

·         SURVIVAL ELEMENTS: Survive the extreme climate, tornadoes, storms, meteors, lightning, and the dark secrets buried beneath the surface.

·         GEOLOGICAL DEPTH: Plants grow and rot. Ocean tide rises and recedes based on the moon. Your body responds to everything from getting wet to lack of sleep or the humidity, or even walking uphill. There are secret areas within secret areas within secret areas, and hundreds of upgrades to be found and used to complete your quest.

The Solus Project is a single-player exploration adventure with survival elements. The adventure is set on a mysterious planet and is the spiritual successor to The Ball, which was voted as the 2010 PC Gamer Action/Adventure Game of the Year.
