Plex Announces New Plex Box with Nvidia Shield

June 9, 2016 – Today, Plex announced some significant news from both a consumer offering, as well as a tech advancement that offers an even greater (and easier) experience for organizing and streaming your personal media collections. In short, Plex is heading toward the mainstream.

Coming in late June, people will be able to use the popular Android TV entertainment device, NVIDIA SHIELD, as a Plex Media Server, which means you no longer need an always-on, dedicated PC, Mac or NAS to use Plex (although it still works great with these!). Square Enix Celebrates 20 Years of Tomb Raider at E3 2016

REDWOOD CITY (June 9, 2016) – Crystal Dynamics®, Square Enix® and Tomb Raider® fans around the world continue to celebrate 20 years of Lara Croft, the gaming world’s iconic heroine. The video game industry’s international landmark event, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will feature multiple #TombRaider20 activities along with festivities continuing throughout 2016.

At this year’s E3, Square Enix is hosting a special episode on Square Enix Presents, the live broadcast from the show floor, featuring a fun look at fan-favorite tombs from the past two decades of Lara’s adventures. The Square Enix E3 booth will also feature a customizable impact engraving machine. Show attendees can secure a limited edition, custom-engraved medallion with the 20-year celebration logo.

As the next highpoint for Lara’s 20-year celebration as an icon, Square Enix is providing fans with the opportunity to answer the question, “What does Tomb Raider mean to you? ” Fans are able to submit a video explaining how the series has influenced their lives, recalling their favorite franchise moments, a story of how Lara Croft has inspired them, or other memories from the past two decades. Videos can be submitted here.

In addition to the video testimonials, Square Enix’s Fan-Art community can be immortalized in Tomb Raider history by submitting their original works to the #TombRaider20 community art contest. The Fan-Art can cover any of the iconic elements of Tomb Raider: breathtaking landscapes, long-forgotten tombs, dangerous enemies, and of course, Lara Croft. Classic and modern interpretations of the character are encouraged! Entries can be submitted here and the contest is open until June 17, 2016. The winners will each receive $1,000 and will have their works featured in a special print art offering to be revealed later this year.

The 20 Year Celebration has already seen a number of exciting announcements. During this year’s PAX East, April 22-24, in Boston, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics hosted a panel – “Lara Croft: The Undisputed Queen of Gaming” – along with a cosplay celebration featuring a variety of fans dressed as the iconic Lara Croft. Square Enix also revealed that there will be a one-of-a-kind epic biography focusing on Lara Croft available later this year. Written by lifelong Tomb Raider fan and Crystal Dynamics Senior Community Manager Meagan Marie, 20 Years of Tomb Raider will explore the groundbreaking, rich and diverse history of the iconic gaming franchise. This special edition hardcover book includes unpublished images, information on the rich lore, iconic characters, epic fan community, developer history, and, of course, insights into the games that started it all. Included are: exclusive interviews from Core Design, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, official voice actors, composers, live action models, comic artists, and an in-depth look at all games in the franchise with insights into unreleased titles as well.

Also revealed at the panel was that original franchise composer Nathan McCree is returning to his roots with a new musical endeavor entitled The Tomb Raider Suite. The collection will include all classic compositions, as well as extensions and variations of original tracks from the first three Tomb Raider games. The Tomb Raider Suite will be available for purchase through digital download and CD this fall.

Along with the album, a live performance of the suite is scheduled for a major London venue to correspond with the official 20^th anniversary of the original Tomb Raider’s release from 1996. More details and ticketing information will be announced at a later date. The entire process – from re-composing the tracks to the final live concert – will be showcased in a TV documentary called Tomb Raider: Remastered, also airing later this year.

LEGO Dimensions Unveils Year 2 Content and E3 Trailer

River City: Tokyo Rumble (3DS)

River City: Tokyo Rumble comes to the Nintendo 3DS this summer. River City: Tokyo Rumble continues the partnership established last year with Arc System Works. Originally launched as Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun SP: Rantou Kyousoukyoku in Japan, the game is part of a long-running series of side-scrolling RPG brawlers, sports games, and more. North Americans were first introduced to the series with River City Ransom on the NES, with an updated take on the game arriving several years later on the Game Boy Advance. Multiple spinoff games, including volleyball and fighting games, have followed.

River City: Tokyo Rumble follows the story of a hot-blooded high school student named Kunio and his good friends. When a nefarious gang moves into Tokyo to try to take it over, it’s up to this self-proclaimed “fighter for justice” and his buddies to make sure the streets stay safe!

Punch, kick, use weapons such as soccer balls, iron knuckles, chains, and even bicycles to knock some sense into those devious gang members. Take on jobs, level up your abilities, and don’t forget to stop on occasion for a snack or two at the local food joints. Luckily, smiles are free!

Wild Guns: Reloaded (PlayStation 4)

It has been 22 years since the release of Wild Guns on the Super Nintendo. Natsume Inc. is bringing Wild Guns: Reloaded to the PlayStation 4 for the first time by teaming up with Natsume Atari Inc. (Formerly Natsume Co., Ltd.)!

Wild Guns is a fast paced gallery style shooter mixing the Wild West with steampunk. Players can play as Clint, Annie or two new characters, or all together in multiplayer action! Each can jump, dive and roll to get out of the way of the barrage of bullets enemies let fly – or shoot them down with their own gun!

Wild Guns: Reloaded adds numerous improvements to the original, including:

June 7, 2016 – Today Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) reveals the latest details about EA PLAY including the press conference and all the games that will be playable at the show. EA will broadcast its press conference live across Los Angeles and London June 12 at 9:00pm BST, kicking off the events of EA PLAY LA at The Novo in L.A. Live and EA PLAY LONDON at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. Hosted by CEO, Andrew Wilson, in LA and Chief Competition Officer, Peter Moore, in London, the press conference will showcase some of EA’s most anticipated games launching later this year and next, with a few surprises from games beyond that.
