FOX21 Secures Rights for VAMPYR Television Show

August 16, 2018 – FOX21 has secured the rights to DONTNOD Entertainment and Focus Home Interactive’s hit RPG video game, VAMPYR, for Wonderland Sound & Vision and DJ2 Entertainment to adapt for television.

VAMPYR launched worldwide last June, reaching #1 on STEAM, the internet’s largest video game distribution platform. VAMPYR is game developer DONTNOD’s follow-up to its Peabody and BAFTA Award Winning game, LIFE IS STRANGE, which DJ2 Entertainment is also set to executive produce.

As the developers of VAMPYR, DONTNOD CEO Oskar Guilbert goes on the record to say, “we believe it is a fantastic premise for a television show. This is a new and exciting way for fans of the game, as well as the uninitiated, to enter and engage with VAMPYR’S rich, deep story. We cannot wait to see how the talented team at FOX21 will bring out the darkly atmospheric universe of our game into television.”

D23 Expo 2019 Tickets Sale Date Announced

BURBANK, Calif. – August 16, 2018 – On Thursday, August 23D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will begin selling tickets for the next D23 Expo, which will take place August 23-25, 2019, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep Wishlist Initiative Announced

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Aug. 16, 2018 – inXile Entertainment, the studio led by Interplay founder and industry icon Brian Fargo, is proud to announce The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep Wishlist Initiative, an evolution in the relationship between an indie developer and its fanbase. In a project that is the first of its kind, gamers who wishlist The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep on either the game’s Steam or GOG.com pages add to an overall counter that unlocks bonuses which reward all purchasers of the game now and in the future.

At 100k wishlisters, inXile will partner with Red Hook Studios to provide an in-game version of the iconic torch from Darkest Dungeon. According to Red Hook Studios Co-founder Tyler Sigman, “Darkest Dungeon has its roots in classics like The Bard’s Tale, so to be a small part of helping to bring the series back is a real treat for us as fellow game devs and especially as fans.”

Secondly, a free DLC will be created and released for all game owners called “The Haernhold,” which finds characters adventuring in the dwarven realm of Kinestria.

In “The Haernhold” DLC, players gain the opportunity to travel beyond Caith to another dimension – Kinestria, realm of the Dwarves. Therein lies the Haernhold, home of Daeglish, one of the characters that can join the player’s party in the main game. All is not well – the tomb of a Dwarven king has been defiled, and only the heroes from Skara Brae have the power to face the darkness that has been unleashed. The only portal to Kinestria resides in Fort Garendon, and it is there where the player’s cross-realm odyssey will begin.

In 2012, inXile was in the vanguard of proving that crowdsourcing was a viable alternative for indie developers to pursue their dream projects. inXile then introduced the Kicking It Forward program, which created a pattern where successful indie devs could help others fund their own projects. Brian Fargo then joined the Advisory Board of Fig, which brought the power of investment to crowdfunding. Now, with this Wishlist Initiative, inXile is inviting their fans and RPG fans to take part in this collective effort to bring crowdsourcing to sales platforms.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts Announced

WARSAW, Poland (August 16, 2018) — Today, CI Games announced the next game in its acclaimed tactical shooter series: Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts. The title takes its genre-defining sniping gameplay to the harsh climates of the Siberian wilderness and introduces a brand new way to play – the contracts system. The game features both single player and multiplayer modes, and is set to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2019.

Drawing upon community feedback, Contracts delivers tense, mission-based scenarios with CI Games’ best sniping ever. This is all thanks to the new contracts system, which takes a step back from Sniper Ghost Warrior 3’s open world. In the single player campaign, players dive headfirst into tailor-made contract missions that offer a clear main objective with a fixed monetary reward, and have the option to complete secondary objectives for bonus payouts. Feel like you can do better? Jump back in and tackle the mission from a different angle — players can repeat every contract to earn more money.

Contracts distills the core sniping gameplay that series fans have come to love, offering dense, more focused maps that reward tactical thinking. With a wealth of optional objectives to complete, the combination of open-ended missions and emergent gameplay ensure these scenarios are wildly replayable. Couple this with the intense environmental obstacles presented by the harsh, modern-day Siberian wilderness, as well as hundreds of ways to take down a wide range of targets, and Contracts offers sniping gameplay at its absolute best.

Omen of Sorrow Gameplay Trailer

Rotterdam, The Netherlands – August 16, 2018 – SOEDESCO and AOne Games kicked things up a notch today, with their announcement that dark fighting game Omen of Sorrow will release for PlayStation®4 both digitally and physically on the 6th of November. A brand new trailer has been released to celebrate this milestone.

Conquer darkness
Omen of Sorrow is a four-button fighting game inspired by classical horror, fantasy and iconic myths and legends. Players can find themselves battling in various dangerous and gloomy places, such as a raging forest fire or a sinister castle. Omen of Sorrow also features 12 legendary characters, such as the half-angel Gabriel and the strong but unlucky hunchback Quasimodo.
