Spaceland New Screenshots

July 15, 2019 – Danger lurks around every corner on far-flung alien worlds, and today, developer Tortuga Team is releasing an overview of just some of the deadly alien aggressors in their upcoming tactical adventure — Spaceland. In the new overview, you can download images and info about monsters like the Creeper, Roach, and the big bad Bronton. Each alien species has distinct combat tactics and abilities, challenging players’ tactical skills as they make the best use of cover, line-of-sight, and good old fashioned firepower to take down these fearsome foes.

Spaceland, set for release on PC later this year, drops players into the boots of a tough-as-nails tactical team of Space Rangers as they explore a hostile world and defeat its vicious denizens in turn-based combat. Shoot, kick, hide, blast, crush — do whatever you can to outsmart and defeat the alien menace!

In the classic traditions of the science-fiction genre, you’ll be tasked with gathering a team of fighters to unravel secrets of the mystical planet your valiant team has landed on. Rich dialogues will reveal the true colors of your teammates, and if you’re lucky, you’ll uncover special details of their individual backstories.

Features of Spaceland Include:

  • We’re Going Old-School: Inspired by classics of the genre such as X-COM, Laser Squad, and Incubation, Spaceland turns up the heat on the battlefield by offering a playstyle that is familiar, yet uniquely exciting
  • Quick N’ Fun: Fast and furious battles focus on the action and only take 10-15 minutes. Planning is good, but blasting is better!
  • Packing the Heat: Equip your team with futuristic weapons such as Dash Thrusters, Grenades, Teleporters, Mines, Power Shields, and much more! Scavenge surroundings for equipment and ammo in a hostile environment with scarce resources.
  • Explore and Exterminate: Discover the secrets of alien bases as you explore them, unlocking new data and expanding your digital encyclopedia of alien info — all of which will help you annihilate them with ease!
  • A Beast for Every Occasion: Fight for your life against alien lifeforms that feature speed, strength, armor, and more — all challenging your tactical mettle as you figure out the best way to defeat each type of foe with the equipment at-hand

HASBRO Reveals Massive Unicron Transformers Figure Campaign

July 15, 2019 – Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro revealed their largest TRANSFORMERS figure ever – The Lord of Chaos. The Planet Eater. The Chaos Bringer – UNICRON! After last year’s crowdfunding success, HASLAB is back with this exciting new creation – the first ever TRANSFORMERS HASLAB project – TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON.

UNICRON stands alone as the most menacing figure in TRANSFORMERS lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees. But his legacy transcends both space and time.

The gigantic UNICRON would be the largest TRANSFORMERS figure ever created, taking the title from the previous record-holder, FORTRESS MAXIMUS. Artists and designers from Takara Tomy and Hasbro are working to capture the intricate details and features of the relentless Chaos Bringer to make this the most accurate UNICRON fans have ever seen.

In his immense robot mode, this version of UNICRON is over 27” tall and has more than 50 points of articulation. Includes fine pose-ability, such as movable eyes, fingers, mouth, and even teeth. He converts into a terrifying planet mode that is a stunning 30” in diameter. The planet mode features the iconic planet-eating jaws, geared to open so UNICRON can devour unassuming worlds. The planet mode also features a series of posable planetary rings. Comes with a stand for posing both planet & robot mode.

If this campaign is backed with a minimum 8,000 backers before August 31, 2019 at 11:59 PM EST, fans will be able to awaken the mighty UNICRON!

To support this campaign for TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON head to the HASLAB tab on HasbroPulse.com.

The Saturn Awards Get A New Location for 2019

LOS ANGELES (July 11, 2019) – The 45th annual Saturn Awards will take place on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. For the first time in its history, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, the organization that founded and owns the Saturn Awards, has made a multi-year partnership deal with veteran television producer Justin W. Hochberg. This new highly sought-after collaboration has immediately resulted in the upcoming, newly produced and reinvigorated Saturn Awards show. The traditionally non-televised Saturn Awards has always been a favorite event among the most groundbreaking creators. This new production will be an exciting evolution of the beloved award show and, for the first time since the one-time TV airing in 1978, it will be available to global fans via a streaming partner to be announced shortly. Hochberg’s additional plans to expand the brand creating a home for fandom year round will include a slate of co-marketing deals and brand partnerships all for the first time in the show’s 45 year history. With new content in development and decades of never before seen exclusive archival awards show footage with fandom’s legendary icons the Saturn brand will provide fans with unprecedented innovative experiences impossible to duplicate.

“For 44 years, The Saturn Awards show has been the ONLY award show to exclusively recognize Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror feature films and television,” said Robert Holguin, the President of the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. “Today genre fans make up the most powerful portion of today’s global entertainment audience but our rich history started long before it was mainstream and includes everyone from J.J. Abrams to Gale Anne Hurd, George Lucas to Jason Blum, Jordan Peele to Gal Gadot, Ryan Coogler, Zoe Saldana and legends like Rod Serling. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin and the team he has assembled as they take this to infinity and beyond.”

The reinvigoration of The Saturn Awards also includes the creation of an Awards Advisory Board with members of the TV, film, animation and fan community. The board’s role will be to help produce the annual presentation and ensure it rigorously honors fans and fan culture. Board members that have joined the advisory board thus far include writer/producer Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers 1-3), Christina Steinberg producer of the Oscar winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, filmmaker Dean Devlin (Independence Day), producer Roy Lee (It, Bates Motel), Director Robert Rodriquez (Alita: Battle Angel, Cannes winner Sin City) and Oscar winning director Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) among others.

“I’ve been a fan of the Saturns my entire career,” says Orci. “I cannot wait to roll up my sleeves to help celebrate pop culture’s most impactful storytellers. For every geek, cosplayer, nerd and underdog, this one is for us.”

“I am a life-long fan and the opportunity to reinvent the show for today’s social media age and further develop this unique brand for fandom with innovators like Bob Orci, Dean Devlin, Christina Steinberg, Roy Lee, Peter Ramsey and Robert Rodriguez, whose work has generated billions and thrilled millions, is a chance to work with real life superheroes,” says Hochberg, who has brought all of these new elements together.

Nominations for the 45th Saturn Awards will be announced on July 15, 2019.
