AOC Announces Availability of Two New Agon Gaming Monitors

Fremont, Calif. – February 23, 2017 AOC, a worldwide leader in monitor display technology, today announces the U.S. availability schedule of five new monitors within their premium line of AOC gaming monitors, the Agon series. The first two from the series, which are available in the U.S. now, are the AG241QX (24-inch Class Adaptive-Sync) and the AG241QG (24-inch Class NVIDIA® G-SYNC), both featuring QHD resolution and a 1 ms response time. While the AG241QG comes with 165 Hz, NVIDIA G-SYNC technology and NVIDIA ULMB, the AG241QX differentiates itself by having 144 Hz and Adaptive-Sync technology. Both monitors made for the enthusiastic and highly competitive gamers, allowing them to race through games without stutter, screen tearing and motion blur. The AG241QX and the AG241QG are available at Amazon for $499 and $699 respectively.

The additional displays coming soon to the U.S. include the AG271UG, a 27-inch NVIDIA G-Sync™ Gaming Monitor with 4K resolution and rapid 4ms response time ($799.99 – Available late March); the AG352UCG, a 35-inch Curved NVIDIA G-Sync™ Gaming Monitor that offers a highly immersive gaming experience, thanks to a small 2000 mm curvature radius and a 3440 x 1440 pixel resolution ($999.99 – Available late March); and the AG251FZ, the 240Hz and fastest Agon Gaming Monitor coming to market ($499.99 – Available in May).

Eye comfort is one of the most important consideration for outlasting the competition. And since the Agon displays are designed specifically for the competitive gamer, they feature eye-protecting AOC Flicker-Free Technology to reduce eye strain, discomfort, and fatigue during long gaming sessions. The AG241QX Adaptive-Sync model goes even further with its Low Blue Light mode, reducing adverse short wavelength blue light without sacrificing color quality.

Additional powerful gaming features of the AG241QX are the AOC Low Input Lag, AOC Shadow Control and the AOC Game Mode Presets on the special Qwick Switch KeyPad. Gamers that play competitively not only rely on fast and smooth images, but also on instantaneously-executed commands and perfect visuals in every situation. The AOC Low Input Lag mode disables picture post-processing on the monitor’s electronics and, therefore, accelerates the command pass-through from mouse, keyboard and gamepad to result in immediate actions.

While the low input lag ensures gamers’ commands are executed without delay, the AOC Shadow Control provides quick contrast adjustment for a better view of pinpointed areas, as to not jeopardize the already well-balanced screen areas.  Monitor settings are key features when it comes to individuality and performance, and they need to be easily accessible. The AOC Settings KeyPad allows users to switch effortlessly between modes and adjust brightness, contrast and other gaming features to comfortably switch between various image settings, save presets and activate them when needed.

Finally, the AOC Agon series’ ergonomic base provides plenty of comfort so gamers can adjust height, tilt and swivel, and is accurately marked by a scale, so gamers can always jump back to their preferred settings. The stand is also equipped with a carry-handle for easy transportation of the monitor to and from eSports events. There is even a headphone holder at the side of the display to support the headset when it’s not in use.

Serial Cleaner Announced

LONDON – February 22, 2017 — Sneak around bloody crime scenes and dispose of incriminating evidence all while avoiding police in fast-paced stealth action game Serial Cleaner from indie publisher Curve Digital and developer iFun4All. Launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam (PC, Mac and Linux) this summer, Serial Cleaner is currently available as a prototype in Steam Early Access and will have hours of additional content at launch. For those interested in a sneak peek of the launch content, Serial Cleaner will be playable at PAX East in booth 22125 and at EGX Rezzed.

Set in the 1970s, Serial Cleaner has players clean up murder scenes by disposing of bodies, covering up bloodstains and hiding murder weapons and other incriminating evidence from the police. To succeed players must explore, experiment and make swift decisions in order to avoid detection by police. Get caught and players earn a black mark on their protagonist’s career.

Players must also be wary of their environment as Serial Cleaner uses real-world data to modify levels accordingly with the current time of day in a player’s whereabouts. Noise detection and “sneakability” will vary between night and day, and mean the difference between freedom and jail.

“Serial Cleaner was inspired by lose-fast/reload-fast games that demand players retry a level several times to learn how enemies react and figure out which zones of the map are the safest,” said Krzysztof Zięba, designer and writer at iFun4all. “If caught, the level generates the crime scene with the bodies moved, ensuring that players can’t rely on just muscle memory to get through a stage. The game is tough, but fair, so players need to plan their moves accordingly, or just get in there and improvise: both approaches work.”

For more information on Serial Cleaner, please visit the game’s website, or Curve Digital’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Anarchy Online Now on Steam

Oslo, Norway – February 22nd, 2017 The world’s first ever science fiction massively multiplayer online game is now on Steam! Almost sixteen years after the first human gamers planted their feet on the alien planet of Rubi-ka, a wormhole opens up for a whole new audience. Set 30,000 years into the future, Anarchy Online sends you off into space and puts them on a faraway planet filled with monsters, warring factions, and other players.

“Anarchy Online is one of the longest living online games in the world and millions of players have made the planet of Rubi-ka their home,” said Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “Bringing the game to Steam is something we have wanted to do for a while and we hope this will bring in new players as well as inspire veterans to come back now that it is easier than ever to travel to Rubi-ka again.”

Today, the game is free to play with optional membership and in-game purchases.

Anarchy Online launched in 2001 and has since seen many updates and expansions, including Notum Wars, Shadowlands, and Alien Invasion. With Anarchy Online, Funcom pioneered both features and business models that have since become commonplace in the genre including randomly generated dungeons and going from subscription to free-to-play. Anarchy Online even was the first MMO to feature a band concert delivered live on a video feed inside the game. Today, Anarchy Online is one of the most content-rich and challenging MMO experiences available, and still hosts a dedicated community that carry on the torch for either Omni-tek or the Rebels.

Belko VR – The Escape Room Experience Gets A Trailer

Los Angeles – “Belko VR – The Escape Room Experience” is being released for free, for one day only, March 3, 2017 in celebration of “National Employee Appreciation Day”. The game was inspired by the upcoming horror thriller, Orion Pictures’ THE BELKO EXPERIMENT, to be released in theaters by BH Tilt, on March 17, 2017.

Belko VR – The Escape Room Experience, created by filmmakers David Yarovesky and Dan Clifton, will be available to play on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets through the Steam Platform.
Exploring the themes in THE BELKO EXPERIMENT, the Belko VR – Escape Room Experience provokes the question: “What does it take to survive at work?” Players are prompted to solve a series of challenging puzzles in order to escape from their office before a microchip in their head explodes.

“We felt that we had a unique opportunity to do something a little crazy by taking the core idea of being trapped in the Belko Industries building and distilling that down to a Roomscale experience,” states Dan Clifton, who co-produced the film and also developed the game. “Players will become a Belko employee and be immersed into a fight for survival. It’s fun, at times threatening and scary and fully interactive.”

“Because I was there for the shoot in Bogota, Colombia and worked extensively with director Greg McLean and the cast and crew, it felt very natural for us to extend the experience and story into a VR game. The film leaves you with the question, “What would I do?” and we knew we could have some fun building that into a VR experience.”

David Yarovesky, who also served as a post-production consultant on the film, is the co-creator of the game. “Having been an extremely early adopter of Vive, I was thrilled that Orion Pictures and BH Tilt were bold enough to allow Dan and I to run with this idea. Other films have done 360 Video experiences, but this is a truly interactive standalone playable game set in the extreme Belko universe.”

Yarovesky added, “We were tired of VR experiences that felt like tech demos. We wanted to make something that was fun and engaging and set a new bar for how VR and film can work together.”

James Gunn said, “The Belko VR – Escape Room Experience is scary as hell with lots of insane puzzles and moral choices. As an active gamer, I’m so excited about where VR is going, and this is a step in the right direction. David Yarovesky and Dan Clifton did an amazing job capturing the film’s unique tone and the game is just as twisted and fun as the movie.”

John Hegeman, President of Marketing of BH Tilt noted, “The Belko VR – The Escape Room Experience is complete insanity and to have the game available for free on Employee Appreciation Day is an incredible treat.”

To bring their vision to life, Clifton and Yarovesky partnered with developers Paper Crane Games out of Los Angeles, CA, who recently developed the Call of Duty Jackal Assault VR Experience for Playstation VR.

Clifton and Yarovesky previously collaborated on The Exorcist 360 Experience for 20th Century Fox Television in the fall of 2016.

Presented by Orion Pictures, an arm of MGM, THE BELKO EXPERIMENT is directed by Greg McLean (The Darkness, Wolf Creek), written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and produced by Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Annabelle) and Gunn. The film stars John Gallagher, Jr. (“The Newsroom,” 10 Cloverfield Lane), Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal”) and Adria Arjona (“True Detective”), John C. McGinley (“Stan Against Evil,””Scrubs”), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Josh Brener (“Silicon Valley”) and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy). Director of Photography is Luis Sansans, A.M.C. (“Narcos”). Production designer is Carlos Osorio (“Homeland,” “24”). Costume designer is Camila Olarte Suárez (The Wind Journeys).
