Wrightwood, Calif. – (Nov. 21, 2017) – Mountain High, Southern California’s closest winter resort, recently tested its snowmaking equipment in anticipation of its 2017-18 season. Opening day is expected as soon as snowmaking conditions permit.

“Winter is coming soon and we’re ready to ramp up our snowmaking efforts the moment conditions allow us to,” said John McColly, Mountain High chief marketing officer. “We have one of the largest snowmaking operations in the region and can’t wait to get this season started.”

With nearly three times as much water available for snowmaking compared to last year, Mountain High expects to open new lifts and trails faster than ever once things get started. Historically, Mountain High has opened by Thanksgiving weekend, but Mother Nature always has the final say on that.

Mountain High offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing throughout its three resorts and North Pole Tubing Park. It is the only regional area with night skiing available seven nights-a-week during peak season. Mountain High’s winter season traditionally runs from mid-November to mid-April.
