FINAL FANTASY XV – 101 Trailer

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 21, 2016) – To prepare for the launch of FINAL FANTASY® XV, SQUARE ENIX® today revealed a new introduction trailer highlighting everything players need to know before beginning their epic journey through the world of Eos on November 29. The trailer delves into the game’s deep story, real-time combat system, magic spells, summons, and introduces the four main characters.

Additionally, a free “Crown Update” will also be available for players to download automatically at launch. The update is the result of some additional time for development since mastering the full game, and provides a variety of updates, minor bug fixes and new features to greatly enhance the overall story and gameplay experience.

The upgrade provides enhancements for several elements within the game including:

  • Improvements to the camera with new options to better assist and track the action in tight space and to improve visibility during battles
  • New event scenes and scenes from KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV™ and the “Omen” trailer have also been added to the game to make the story and timeline of events easier to follow for newcomers
  • The addition of an ability tree for the “Wait Mode” function which improves the strategic element of this feature
  • Players can obtain the “Beast Whistle” which can be used to call monsters to battle
  • A wider variety of recipes and fish with an addition of a gallery for completionist players who enjoy collecting items
  • Implementation of social media support, allowing the photos Prompto takes along your journey to be uploaded to Facebook and Twitter

Following news of copies of the game going on sale ahead of the release date, Game Director Hajime Tabata issued the following message to the fans:

“The November 29th release date is approaching and I sincerely hope everyone enjoys this game with a fresh state of mind. Unfortunately, there has been an unauthorized distribution of the boxed edition of FINAL FANTASY XV in select regions and we have noticed that gameplay footage from people playing these copies has appeared online. Though this type of situation is brought on by various region specific circumstances and may not be something that is completely avoidable, we are very regretful of this situation.

One of the major goals of FINAL FANTAr3SY XV is for everyone to enjoy the story and to discover the surprises together through the simultaneous worldwide release. Due to these recent events, videos with unexpected spoilers could potentially be posted online, so we would like to warn everyone who has been waiting in anticipation for this game.

We will also do everything in our capacity to prevent unauthorized footage from appearing online. We would also like to ask anybody that has obtained an early copy of the game to be respectful to those that are looking forward to the official release and to not spoil the surprises for everyone.

A large and dedicated team have worked extremely hard to make this game and to create a FINAL FANTASY that everyone can enjoy. It would be a huge regret for us if the excitement of the launch was to be spoiled for so many when we are so close to release.

Your understanding and cooperation would be much appreciated so we can celebrate the best possible release together.”

ROCCAT Suora FX RGB Review

Recently, we got the chance to take a look at ROCCAT’s Suora FX RGB gaming keyboard. The Suora FX RGB features ROCCAT’s signature black and dark gray body and very little extra framing around the key area. With the Suora FX RGB, it’s all about the function and the form factor is very compact despite it being a full keyboard with numeric keypad.

The Suora FX RGB has some seriously impressive LED back-lighting that is capable of up to 16.8 million colors. How impressive is that? Well, according to Wikipedia, the human eye is only capable of distinguishing 10 million colors!

Setting up the Suora FX RGB is easy and utilizes ROCCAT’s integrated Swarm software suite. Unlike other multi-device control suites from peripheral-makers, ROCCAT’s Swarm even has an app for your smartphone that allows full control of your devices from your phone. There have been some reports of issues with the lighting system on Windows 10 machines, but a week ago ROCCAT released a patch for this problem, so you should be good to go.

Typing on the keyboard is very nice, and it has a great “clicky” action that pushes you forward to continue on. I put the keyboard through its paces with Star Wars: Battlefront, Dragon Age Inquisition (doing a replay of it), and Civilization VI. Whether it was the fast-paced combat of Battlefront or the slower gameplay of Civilization VI, the ROCCAT Suora FX RGB performed great.

Unfortunately, the ROCCAT Suora FX RGB does have a couple drawbacks. The biggest for me is the lack of a USB pass-through port on the back of the keyboard. These are space saving godsends when available, as it allows you to route your mouse or Bluetooth dongle on the keyboard directly. Also, while the minimalist design is beneficial in some cases, I found it rather uncomfortable without a wrist rest – your mileage may vary.

Overall, the ROCCAT Suora FX RGB is a terrific gaming keyboard for $139.95 and will provide you with the performance and response you need to be successful in your gaming efforts. It might be a bit too bare bones for gamers who need all the bells and whistles, such as on-keyboard profile switching, but the Suora FX RGB is stylish, responsive keyboard with an impressive back-lighting system.

Space Hulk: Deathwing 17 Minutes of Single Player Gameplay

November 18, 2016 – Space Hulk: Deathwing, the upcoming first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, features a solo campaign written in collaboration with Black Library author and Dark Angels specialist, Gav Thorpe, as well as cooperative multiplayer. With only one month left until release, you can now watch 17 minutes of uncut gameplay from the solo campaign. Clocking at around 15 hours of gameplay in normal difficulty mode – more when playing on harder difficulty and if players take time to explore, finding hidden relics on the way – the campaign boasts huge environments, with lots of optional areas and secret rooms to discover.

In the solo campaign you play as a Librarian of the Dark Angels’ 1st Company, the Deathwing, taking on swarms of Genestealer in the Space Hulk Olethros with Storm Bolter and Force Sword in hand. The Librarian is a Psyker, granting him access to powerful psychic abilities such as chain lighting, a powerful lightning bolt, which arcs between multiple enemies; and Shockwave, which blasts enemies back from you. You will need to utilize the full armory of the Deathwing company, your powerful psychic abilities, as well as the squad members under your command to fend off the xenos threat.

The Genestealers adapt their behaviour, based on their numbers, their type, and your actions. Commanding your teammates to cover you, block doors to prevent genestealers from flanking you, heal you, or hold a key position, is vital to survival in the depths of the Space Hulk. By playing the campaign you also unlock new weaponry for use by you and your squadmates, along with gaining experience to spend on three skill trees to unlock powerful new abilities.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is available for download on PC, December 9 before landing on consoles in early 2017. Pre-purchasing through Steam will gain you access to the pre-order beta, beginning end of November.

Pre-order now the game on Steam and get access to the pre-order Beta, 15% off and one in-game weapon – the Lost Mace of Corswain.

Master of Orion Gets Revenge of Antares DLC on Dec 1

November 18, 2016 — The battle to conquer Orion is set to become even more challenging. On December 1, Master of Orion’s anticipated “Revenge of Antares” DLC will become available, giving access to independent civilizations, a new victory condition and more. The expansion also introduces three new playable races to the massive galaxy. Arriving in the DLC expansions are the Trilarians, Gnolam, and Elerians—formidable aliens that will open up new paths to victory as commanders strive for dominance of the galaxy.

“We’re excited to introduce new content for players of Master of Orion,” said Jacob Beucler, Publishing Product Director for Master of Orion. “They will find themselves in a new environment, filled with new challengers, adventures and enemies to face off with or forge an alliance with. This content will add new dimensions to the game’s already robust lore.”

Three of the newly available races (Trilarian, Gnolam and Elerian) can be purchased in a single bundle. With the addition of these playable races, the possibilities and strategy multiplies as players forge their galactic destiny in even more unique ways.

Additionally, as a response to the dedicated Master of Orion player community, a free expansion will also be offered to all players. This expansion deepens the gameplay by allowing them the ability to recruit new leaders to their side, battle the fourth new, non-playable race, the Antarans, and interact with independent civilizations.

So, just who are these new alien races and what roles do they play in Master of Orion? The aquatic Trilarian are a peaceful race that has abandoned the concept of war. However, when a true threat presents itself, their resolute honor compels them to fiercely fight for their objective.

The Gnolams are known as the most skilled traders in the galaxy, basking in the decadence that their wealth and luck brings them. This charmed race is the constant benefactor of good fortune, making them great allies or cunning enemies.

The elegant yet xenophobic Elerians, present an interesting and exclusive aspect to the game. They will trade and communicate with other races, yet reject any potential negative alien influence on the Elerian culture. This resistance to all outside cultures makes them uncompromising foes.

The Antarans are a mysterious race genetically engineered by ancient and unknown masters. In time, they have become deeply war driven, bent on a fervent path of galactic expansion. Heavily militarized and despotic, the Antarans move through the galaxy bending all they encounter to their will.

Master of Orion DLC will be purchasable for $9.99 via Steam and GoG.com
