May 7, 2014 – Trilobyte Games announces a newly signed agreement with Angel Valley Media to license The 7th Guest for film and television treatments.

“The 7th Guest is a landmark in gaming history,” said Angel Valley president Matthew Lewis. “Bringing Henry Stauf and the rich universe of the series to life in film was inevitable. We’ll be working side-by-side with Trilobyte Games to give players a new look into Stauf’s world, with new storylines and characters tightly interwoven with the game series.”

Also revealed is the launch of a new crowdfunding campaign for the next installment in the historic series of puzzle games; The 7th Guest 3: The Collector (PC/Mac/Linux/iOS).

Using CrowdtiltOpen, a new platform from the team behind Crowdtilt for Reddit, Trilobyte Games is able to divide funding- and development-goals into stages. The first stage, already over one-third toward completion due to early support from fans, will fund a playable beta of The 7th Guest 3: The Collector.

“We’ve reconstituted much of our original team and received ringing endorsements from all, including a ‘greenlight’ from the Steam community” said Rob Landeros, cofounder, creative director and CEO of Trilobyte Games. “We’re asking fans and puzzle game lovers everywhere to pledge $65,000 to fund our beta; The 7th Guest 3: The First Story.”

Original team members, including Robert Hirschboeck (Henry Stauf), Tommy Tallarico, David Wheeler, and John Fricker, have returned to the team. Even “The Fatman” (George Alistair Sanger) has consented to allow his original music to be incorporated into The 7th Guest 3: The Collector.

Trilobyte Games chose CrowdtiltOpen due to its flexibility. Instead of a one-size-fits-all solution, CrowdtiltOpen gives developers the ability to ‘own’ their crowdfunding platforms and to customize campaigns to meet the unique needs of their games.
