Albion Online Reveals Major Visual Overhaul and Content Update

Albion Online, the free-to-play fantasy sandbox MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive has announced a new update, Radiant Wilds, launching 13 April 2026. Along with a number of performance improvements and new features, the update will bring a total visual overhaul to Albion’s open world to give a fresh new look while maintaining its characteristic style for veterans and new players alike.

Built for modern systems, Albion Online gains new lighting, new water shaders, improved textures and new details like vegetation and insects to bring even more life to Albion. The Sandbox Interactive team has focused on enhancing the individual feel of each biome, with regional vegetation, gusts of sand, snow and pollen, and detailed terrain.

The visual changes come with no increase to required specs. Players will also see improvements to the overall performance, especially in combat, and will gain access to a brand new feature called The Armory which will provide suggested builds for different gameplay modes based on real data. The Arena, which currently offers a 5v5 mode, will also add a 1v1 mode for players looking to get accustomed to solo PvP in a non-lethal space.

Ahead of the update’s launch, Albion Online will also host its Rites of Spring event beginning on 31 March 2026. The event will run for two weeks where players will be able to find Spring Treasure Chests popping up across the world, and get their hands on chocolate eggs for Fame Boosts, rare Cottontail eggs which can be raised into bunny mounts, and plenty more chocolatey treats.

Radiant Wilds Key Features:

  • Visual overhaul: To bring Albion up to a new visual standard changes will include improved lighting, better colouring and contrast, and new visual textures.
  • The Armory: A brand-new feature which uses player data to recommend builds for different game modes. It can be accessed directly or via other in-game UIs.
  • 1v1 Arena: A new version of the existing 5v5 Arena, allowing players to sign up to battle 1v1 in a timed, non-lethal arena to get accustomed to PvP without losing gear. The Crystal Arena will also receive a new map.
  • Enhanced Controller Support: Significant changes to controller support will ensure combat and UI navigation are smoother and more intuitive across all platforms.
  • Performance improvements: Technical improvements have been added aimed at delivering smoother gameplay, especially during large battles.

New Trailer for Aesir Interactive Open-World Action Survival Game EverRail

In EverRail, the world has frozen over, and humanity’s last hope is a massive battery-powered train roaring across an endless icebound frontier. Players must build, scavenge and survive across a vast, procedurally generated wasteland where mobility is everything, and momentum means life. If the train stops for too long, the cold closes in and the line ends for everyone the moment the train’s battery and the manifest hit zero.

Breaking the Loop: Tricore Gameplay

EverRail refuses to keep players locked inside their mobile base. Players will experience the game’s Tricore Gameplay, a threefold system requiring mastery of distinct modes of traversal, either as a single-player or up to four player co-op:

  • On Rails (The Train): Players must steer, upgrade, and maintain a massive, high-speed train. It serves as a fortress and lifeline in motion. The engine generates power only while in motion, creating constant pressure to push forward while managing resources, repairs, and passenger needs.

  • In Air (The Glider): Unlike survival games that keep players grounded, EverRail utilizes verticality. Players can take to the skies by deploying a glider for third-person scouting, harvesting energy resources and uncovering secrets hidden in the frostbitten landscape. Aerial reconnaissance is essential to planning safe routes and keeping the train’s battery charged.

  • On Foot (Expeditions): To gather resources and rescue survivors, players must stop the engine and brave the cold before it overtakes them. Third-person roguelike expeditions send players into abandoned settlements, frozen forests and lost ruins filled with enemies, environmental hazards and high-risk rewards.

Survival Is Momentum

At the heart of EverRail is a simple rule: move or freeze. The train runs on a battery that recharges only while driving, and drains whenever it stops, turning every expedition into a race against time. Players must weigh risk vs. reward as they decide when to halt for supplies, push forward into the unknown and how to allocate energy across the train’s expanding systems.

Your Crew Is Your Lifeline

The EverRail Steam Next Fest demo introduces players to the game’s take on a permadeath successor system, a high-stakes twist on traditional survival gameplay mechanics. In the game’s frozen world, the passenger manifest represents the player’s life counter. If a player falls to the elements or combat during an expedition, they are not revived as the same character and immediately assume the role of another passenger on the manifest. As long as there are survivors onboard, the journey continues; if the last soul on board perishes, the line ends permanently.

Every rescue matters. Every loss lingers. And every decision affects the fragile ecosystem aboard the train.

Solasta II Early Access Launch Trailer

The wait is over, Solasta II is out now. The first chapter of the epic adventure is available via Early Access on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2975950/Solasta_II/

Built from a deep-rooted love of traditional pen-and-paper TTRPGs, Solasta II places player choice, tactical mastery and the spirit of exploration at the heart of the experience. Early Access marks the beginning of a shared journey, inviting players to help shape the game alongside the developers as it evolves towards its full release.

Watch the brand-new Early Access launch trailer here:

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM EARLY ACCESS DAY 1

  • A substantial opening portion of the campaign covering the majority of Act 1, placing players into the heart of Neokos, an unknown continent caught in escalating political, ideological and divine conflict.
  • Tactical turn-based combat based on the 2024 D&D ruleset that tests players’ ability to prepare, adapt and react to varying encounters.
  • Deep party creation and customization, with four fully player-controlled characters shaped through appearance, background, personality and class choices. There are also four different ancestries to choose from – Dwarf, Elf, Halfling and Human.
  • Six playable classes, and 13 different subclasses available at launch (a deep dive on all of these subclasses can be found here):
  • Cleric
  • Battle Domain
  • Life Domain
  • Oblivion Domain
  • Fighter
  • The Aether Warden
  • The Commander
  • Paladin
  • Oath of Judgement
  • Oath of Liberation
  • Rouge
  • The Scavenger
  • The Shadowcaster
  • Sorcerer
  • The Mana Painter
  • The Star Child
  • Wizard
  • The Court Mage
  • The School of Ruin
  • Level cap set at level 4 for Early Access launch.
  • Fully voiced player character dialogue, with reactive conversations and party interactions.
  • Key NPCs voiced by award winning voice actors – Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3, Hades 2), Ben Starr (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Final Fantasy XVI), Devora Wilde (Baldur’s Gate 3, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Ellen Thomas (Arcane, Doctor Who).
  • A hex-based world map, where brave explorers will march into the unknown on their journey through Neokos. Hidden encounters, timed events, unmarked areas and some of the toughest combat clashes via random elite boss spawns are all only ever one hex away from being discovered.

In this epic tactical RPG, players will take control of a party of four adopted siblings, reunited and drawn back home following the death of their mother. Their return soon becomes something far greater; an ancestral conflict tied to forgotten covenants, fractured faiths and supernatural forces that shape the fate of the world. The truths uncovered along the way, and the choices players make in response, will determine how the story will ultimately end – and who will be standing with you when it does.

Developed by a core team of fewer than 40 developers, Solasta II is a hugely ambitious labor of love by Tactical Adventures. Early Access reflects the beginning of the development roadmap, with future updates like multiplayer and level cap increases already announced.

Community feedback will play a central role in shaping future updates as the game progresses toward its full release, so Tactical Adventures invites those interested in being part of that conversation to join their official Discord server.

Subnautica 2 Dev Vlog Dives into Building Bases

Unknown Worlds has revealed an expanded base-building system for Subnautica 2, introducing a modular construction approach that gives players greater freedom to design and grow their underwater habitats.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the new system introduces modular construction tools that allow players to build and expand their seabases piece by piece. This approach offers greater flexibility for both exterior structures and interior layouts, letting players personalize elements such as windows, corridors, and other fine details, supporting everything from compact survival shelters to expansive underwater habitats and exploration hubs.

The feature is showcased in the latest Subnautica 2 developer vlog, where members of the development team walk through the design philosophy behind the system and demonstrate how the tools work in-game. The video features Kiel McDonald, Base Design Lead, and Carolyn Lu, Engineer, who share insights into the creative and technical process behind building a system designed to give players more control over how their seabases evolve during their journey.

“Base-building is fundamental to Subnautica as a franchise,” said Anthony Gallegos, Design Lead at Unknown Worlds. “With Subnautica 2 we wanted to increase player expression, and leaned into a sculptural base-building system that provides far more flexibility than anything we’ve done before. We can’t wait to see what players create and how they push the system to its limits.”

The developer vlog also showcases the system in multiplayer, demonstrating how players can collaborate to construct intricate seabases together. Subnautica 2 introduces optional four-player cooperative gameplay, allowing friends to build, explore, and survive side-by-side while developing shared bases.

Subnautica 2 is latest entry in the genre-defining Subnautica series. The game takes players to an entirely new alien world within the Subnautica universe, introducing new ecosystems, modular vehicles, and cooperative gameplay while bringing the series’ signature exploration and survival experience to life using Unreal Engine 5. The game is scheduled to enter Early Access on PC and Xbox Series consoles in 2026.

Unknown Worlds will continue sharing updates through its ongoing developer vlog series, which highlights major gameplay systems and development milestones. Fans can watch the latest vlog on the official Subnautica YouTube channel and stay updated through the game’s website and Discord community.
