Zen Studios Acquires Digital Rights to Williams and Bally Pinball Tables

San Francisco, CA – September 04, 2018  Zen Studios today announced it is bringing tables from the world-renowned Williams and Bally pinball collection to digital game stores. This global agreement grants Zen the digital rights to the full Williams and Bally pinball library, with the initial 2018 releases including Fish Tales, Junk Yard, Medieval Madness® and The Getaway® High Speed® II – all of which are now available in public beta form through Pinball FX3 on Steam. Committed to making pinball an exciting community experience, Zen also invites fans of all ages to its headquarters in Budapest, Hungary, to see this process in action with a studio tour.

Known for its celebrated Pinball FX series, Zen has established itself as one of gaming’s all-time greatest digital pinball publishers, committed to pinball excellence over the last 11 years with more than 70 acclaimed tables to its credit. The addition of Scientific Games’Williams and Bally tables will only strengthen this lineup that until now has been comprised entirely of designs created by Zen itself, including some inspired by powerhouse intellectual properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Jurassic World. In addition to Steam, these tables will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10 and MAC OSX.

“Most of our developers grew up admiring Williams and Bally pinball machines, and we at Zen are devoted to treating these beloved tables with the respect they deserve for years to come in digital form,” said Zsolt Kigyossy, Zen Studios’ Managing Director. “We have a grand vision for what we can add to these amazing tables on gaming and mobile devices. We are dedicated to providing an amazing experience and new challenges for all players around the world!”

“The classic Williams and Bally tables have always been the reference in designing and creating pinball tables. Having the opportunity to work with these is a dream come true,” said Peter Grafl, Pinball Designer at Zen Studios.

Zen has continuously innovated and evolved what is possible on a pinball table, perfecting physics, polishing gameplay, and – perhaps most importantly – building a pinball universe that connects players across the world. It is the studio’s mission to unite pinball players across the world, as well as help drive awareness of physical locations that still offer real-world gameplay. Zen welcomes players to visit its studio headquarters in Budapest, Hungary, where players can take a studio tour and check out the rotating selection of pinball games in the office, as well as meet the team behind the games. At the conclusion of the tour, players will be presented with a ticket to the Budapest Pinball Museum, home to Europe’s largest collection of pinball machines.

A Total War Saga: Thrones of Brittania Blood, Sweat, and Spears Trailer

August 29, 2018 – Combine an endless procession of nobles claiming “But of course I’m the rightful king!” with brutal edged-weapon warfare, and what do you get? Buckets of Anglo-Saxon claret, that’s what.

Watch history repeating – in glorious technicolor – right here:

Now available for A Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA, the Blood, Sweat and Spears pack uncorks the gore with limb-lops, beheadings and artisanal arterial arcs. It’s available to purchase now on Steam, and absolutely free to those who already own the Blood & Burning pack for Total War: ATTILA.

Also live now via auto-update is the Allegiance Update for Thrones of Britannia. This major overhaul updates and rebalances many areas of the game based on player feedback. Introducing greater depth and granularity to politics, improved battle AI and a new system for issuing decrees, the update also heralds the new Allegiance mechanic – a system which simulates the trials facing a faction that expands to capture new territory. For more on the update, check out this video.

The Anglo-Saxon era was truly a brutal one, and not just on the battlefield. Spare a thought for hapless Edmund Ironside, whose brief seven-month tenure as King of England was cut cruelly short on 30th November, 1016. No glorious death in combat for our Edmund however: he was knifed on the privy. What a way to descend from the throne.

In the Early Access release, players will be able to dive into a full one half of the final map, encounter five dangerous and hostile creatures, and learn how to inspect their bodies for all kinds of wounds, infections, and parasitic nasties. Not only that, they can get a sneak peek into the Story Mode with a fully voiced over tutorial introduction.

Beginning its journey with a huge amount of content, Green Hell players can also look forward to updates containing new tribal enemies, cool new death animations, a water update introducing diving and fishing, and even more languages beyond the initial offerings of English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Stay tuned for more updates on Green Hell’s development roadmap!

Key Features

  • Realistic Survival Simulator – Green Hell puts great focus on realism in both its world building and gameplay. Everything that is crafted or built is necessary for survival, and was consulted on with experts. The Amazon is not a typical forest; threats are literally crawling under your skin.
  • Psychological Thriller – Waking up in the middle of the Amazon with no recollection of how you got there or how you’ll get out, the hardest battle you’ll face is the fight against yourself and your weaknesses and fears.
  • Fully Alive Amazon Rainforest – Every effort has gone into recreating the lush world of the Amazon in painstaking detail. An exotic and dangerous place, this jungle is filled with many hazards beyond predators including toxic plants, illnesses and infections, all waiting to bring the player to their demise.
  • Body Inspection – Dangers lurk around every bend but they also live under your very skin. Paramount to your survival is checking your body for parasites, infections, and wounds. Take care or suffer the consequences.

Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies Launch Trailer

SAN FRANCISCO  August 28, 2018 — Today, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry® 5: Dead Living Zombies, the third post-launch adventure, is available now on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC. Dead Living Zombies can be purchased as add-on content for $7.99, as part of the season pass for $29.99 or the Gold Edition for $89.99.

Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies pairs players with Guy Marvel – the D-tier film director we first met in Far Cry 5 – as he pitches his vision for an epic zombie saga. In maps built from the powerful Far Cry Arcade editor, players will explore seven different film scenarios as they face hordes of the undead across rooftops, farmlands, military bases and more. After completing each map, players can unlock Score Attack to achieve three-star ratings, which will unlock weapons and gear to bring back to Hope County.

Additionally, a new title update available now introduces new features to all Far Cry 5 players, including:

  • New Game +: The highly anticipated New Game + allows players to restart the Far Cry 5 story after completing the main campaign, keeping their character progression. New Game + contains new elements such as upgradable perks in the main campaign and the higher-difficulty Infamous mode, in which AI have more health, take more damage and react more quickly to a player’s presence.
  • Destructible Objects: Destructible Objects are generic building blocks that shatter into small cubes when shot or otherwise creatively destroyed. Objects range from geometric shapes to building elements – and players can combine different shapes and textures for nearly endless destructible fun.
  • Scripting Tool: The Scripting Tool allows mapmakers to trigger different actions in their maps based on player behavior. For example, when players perform specific actions  like killing enemies, reaching a location or looking at specific objects mapmakers can then change the time of day, teleport the player, add slow motion, change the music and add or remove enemies or gameplay objects. These tools open up a new realm of possibilities, allowing mapmakers to add an entirely new layer of visual storytelling to their creations.

StarFlight 3: Universe Launches Fig Crowdfunding Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 28, 2018) – HumaNature, founded by Greg Johnson, the original designer of the “Adventure Game of the Year”* Starflight and “Role-Playing Game of the Year” Starflight 2: The Trade Routes of Cloud Nebula, announces the long awaited sequel StarFlight 3: Universe. HumaNature has launched a Fig campaign for $800K USD, which allows them to hit their planned Q4 2020 launch. Supporters can pledge at https://www.fig.co/campaigns/starflight-3? for a reward or invest in Starflight Fig Game Shares that pay a return based on the sales of the game.

ABOUT STARFLIGHT 3
Starflight 3 is the next chapter in the Staflight universe. It is a sci-fi single-player, sandbox role-playing game that focuses on exploration, diplomacy, resource gathering, and combat. Players will have solar systems with tons of planets to discover and explore, mine for necessary resources, catalog new creatures, trade and use diplomacy with locals, all while saving the universe. Starflight 3 is a true free-form experience.

Starflight 3 will feature new and previous alien races, uncharted solar systems to discover, and never before seen planets to explore, all within the same genre-defining gameplay mechanics of the original games. Players will assemble and train their crew and be responsible for their health at all times. Upgrade and customize your starship to make sure you can traverse all of the new star systems. Visit planets and find trade centers, mine for minerals, harvest plants, capture animals, and discover mind-bending clues scattered across the solar systems. Interact with aliens by deciphering their life, culture, and their standing in the universe. And combat, there is no avoiding it. Upgrade your ship and improve your crew because in battle, you will need to decide whether it is best to engage or retreat.

STARFLIGHT’S LEGACY
The original Starflight, developed by a five-person team at Binary Systems and published by Electronic Arts in 1986 for PC and in 1991 for Sega Genesis, is considered a ground-breaking game. Starflight was one of the first open-world space exploration games, one of the first instances of a sandbox game, and one of the first to use procedurally generated content. StarFlight is considered a master class in blending procedurally generated exploration, crafted storytelling, and deep world building to create a free-form experience. Its legacy can been seen today in games such as Star Control, Mass Effect, and Dwarf Fortress.

Starflight sold more than 1M copies, and it spawned a sequel in Starflight 2: The Trade Routes of Cloud Nebula, which combined space exploration with role-playing and strategy. Release in 1989, players commanded a spaceship capable of traveling to over 150 solar systems. Starflight 2 received Computer Gaming World’s “Role-Playing Game of the Year” in 1990.
