Borderlands 3 Out Now

Today, 2K and Gearbox Software are proud to announce that Borderlands® 3, the next installment in the award-winning, genre-defining shooter-looter series, is now available worldwide on PlayStation® 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.

This release marks the culmination of nearly five years of development and re-establishes the series as a true genre leader, with best-in-class shooting, deeper-than-ever customization, irreverent humor and memorable characters, and intuitive, innovative cooperative multiplayer gameplay. To see the official cinematic launch trailer, please click here. To see recording artist The Heavy perform the game’s title sequence track during the recent Borderlands 3 launch party, see here:

“There is something special about seeing an idea start and watching that idea go through multiple people who each contribute their effort and their talent to make the idea a reality,” wrote Borderlands 3 Creative Director Paul Sage in an open letter to fans published earlier today. “I cannot stress enough how the team has come together to make sure we have produced a worthy successor to Borderlands 2, but I hope more than just feeling the team’s passion, more than getting to experience the next Borderlands, you get to sit down, laugh a little, and just have a damn good time.”

Early critics agree, Borderlands is back and better than ever. IGN awarded Borderlands 3 a 9/10, noting “its arsenal of fun is unmatched.” Meristation proclaimed the game is “destined to become a classic,” while Shacknews deemed it “an absolute masterpiece.” Destructoid described Borderlands 3 as “a hallmark of excellence,” and USgamer called the game “an absolute blast.”

The franchise, which combines the exhilarating action of a first-person shooter with the rich progression and loot systems of a role-playing game, has sold-in more than 48 million units worldwide to date. The most popular title in the series – Borderlands 2 – still draws in more than one million unique monthly users more than six years after the game’s initial release in 2012.

Borderlands 3 expands and improves many of the key features that made the series a critical and commercial success, while also introducing innovative new concepts to its proven formula, including:

  • A Mayhem-Fueled Thrill Ride: The fanatical Calypso Twins have united the bandit clans and are closing in on the galaxy’s ultimate power. Only you, a thrill-seeking Vault Hunter, have the arsenal and allies to take them down. Uncover the rewarding mysteries, memorable inhabitants, and deep lore of the extensive Borderlands narrative universe.
  • Your Vault Hunter, Your Playstyle: Become one of four extraordinary new Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities and playstyles, deep skill trees, and tons of personalization options.
  • Lock, Load, and Loot: With multiple distinct weapons manufacturers, a revolutionary content generation system, and special legendary drops to uncover, your ever-improving arsenal comes with near-infinite possibilities. Shotguns with bullet shields? Rifles with multiple elemental damage types? SMGs that grow legs and chase down enemies? All of the above!
  • New Borderlands: Discover new worlds beyond Pandora, each featuring unique environments to explore and enemies to destroy. Tear through hostile deserts, battle your way across war-torn cityscapes, navigate deadly bayous, and more!
  • Quick & Seamless Co-Op Action: With the new “level-sync” system, the experience seamlessly scales for each individual player. That means you can play with anyone at any time online or in split-screen co-op, regardless of your level or mission progress. Plus, when you take down enemies and challenges as a team, “loot instancing” ensures you reap rewards that are yours alone – no one misses out on loot.

With multiple editions chock-full of digital bonus content, fans can pick the loot-splosion that’s right for them: the Borderlands 3 Standard Edition is available for $59.99 and includes the base game. The Borderlands 3 Deluxe Edition is available for $79.99 and includes the base game, as well as the following bonus digital content: Retro Cosmetic Pack, Neon Cosmetic Pack, Gearbox Cosmetic Pack, Toy Box Weapon Pack, and XP & Loot Drop Boost Mods.

Developed from the ground up with AMD, Borderlands 3 will take full advantage of the most powerful PC hardware available, and is optimized for top performance and incredible gaming experiences on AMD Radeon™ graphics cards and Ryzen™ processors. Please note that, while Borderlands 3 is currently available on PC exclusively through the Epic Games Store, the game will be available on additional PC digital storefronts in April 2020.

For fans, launch is only beginning. As revealed at PAX West, 2K and Gearbox Software will continue support Borderlands 3 with free seasonal content updates and free raid-like events called Takedowns, the first of which are scheduled to go live this fall. In addition, 2K and Gearbox plan to release four major downloadable campaign expansions, available collectively with purchase of a “season pass” or individually upon release. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Ember Rise DLC Out Now

SAN FRANCISCO — September 12, 2019 — Today, Ubisoft announced that Operation Ember Rise, Season 3 of Year 4 of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege, is now available for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC. Operation Ember Rise brings two new Operators, Amaru from Peru and the Mexican Goyo to the game that recently reached 50 million players worldwide. The Kanal map has also been completely reworked to improve playability and aesthetics, alongside many improvements.

Owners of the Year 4 Pass can play with the new Operators immediately while the rest of the players will be able to unlock these Operators starting September 18 using Renown or R6 Credits. Additional seasonal new content, including the Kanal map rework, are available for free to all players.

In Operation Ember Rise, players will meet two new Operators:

  • Amaru is the new Attacker from Peru. She uses the Garra hook that allows her to grapple onto ledges, balconies, skylights and windows, and hoist herself up in record time. Amaru’s opponents now not only have to worry about attacks from above, but also attacks from below. When timed right, hooking the Garra onto a window can result in Amaru’s infamous Garra Kick, which instantly takes out an opponent standing behind the window.
  • Goyo, the new Defender from Mexico can deploy Volcán Shields. Like the ordinary Deployable Shield, the Volcán Shield provides cover and allows Defenders to block pathways, but Goyo turns up the heat with an attached incendiary bomb. From the front there’s little indication of which it might be, and Attackers can easily be surprised when the Volcán Shield explodes.

Additionally, Operation Ember Rise includes a complete map rework of Kanal, significantly altering the core gameplay experience with an emphasis on easier rotations. A new bridge has been added to create an alternative path to the objective areas. Additionally, a staircase has been added in both buildings to make vertical movement more accessible and indoor playable areas have been added or extended. Finally, bomb sites have changed: The bomb on Kitchen has been moved to the Security Room, with a brand new doorway connecting it to the Map Room. The site in the Radio Room is now found in the expanded Lounge Room, across the hall from the usual Coast Guard site. Radar and Server remain unchanged, though these areas have been reorganized. Finally, a new pair of sites has been put in. At last, Bomb can be played on Supply Room and Kayak, although the area just outside has been turned into an indoors Diving Room.

Additional Operation Ember Rise updates include the following:

  • An all new unranked playlist containing the same rules as Ranked without affecting players’ rank or MMR.
  • An all new Champions rank
  • Map rotations have been reworked in Ranked, Casual, and Unranked
  • Player Behavior updates to combat in-game toxicity
  • The Operators menu has been reworked
  • The shop interface has been improved

Finally, new skins have also been added: The Mira Elite skin is an homage to her grandmother’s service in hard times, and the Eternal Wind and Eternal Sun weapon skins are inspired by the Aztecs and Inca respectively.

The Mini Battle Pass “Call me Harry” centered round Director of Rainbow, Dr. Harishva “Harry” Pandey, will launch later in the season. Phase 1 of Battle Pass deployment in Rainbow Six Siege, it will last only one week and be completely free. Players will be able to progress through 7 tiers by playing and earning Battle Points. Completing this Pass will award the unique Harry Chibi charm. The Mini Battle Pass is a technical test for the development team and we would love to have the community’s feedback about it. Please share your feedback on Twitter, Reddit and R6 Fix.

Capcom Unveils Project REsistance

September 12, 2019 – Today at Tokyo Game Show (TGS), Capcom unveiled a new type of survival horror set in the Resident Evil universe, Project Resistance (working title). This asymmetric online five-person multiplayer game combines both cooperative and competitive dynamics, with the opportunity for players to create their own survival horror experience. Four Survivors must work together to escape an insidious experiment and outsmart the twisted Mastermind behind the scenes. Capcom is developing Project Resistance in partnership with NeoBards Entertainment, utilizing the proprietary RE Engine known for high quality gameplay and remarkable visual fidelity in games such as Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5. It is currently being developed for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, and Steam.

In each 4v1 match, one Mastermind player tracks the four Survivors through a network of security cameras, staying one step ahead at every turn to prevent their escape. The Mastermind plots a deadly course by wielding a strategic deck of cards to create dangerous obstacles for the Survivors, such as summoning vicious creatures, setting traps, manipulating the environment, and weaponizing security cameras. He or she can also directly control zombies in play. In addition, Mastermind players can even step into the trench coat of the towering, deadly Tyrant for the first time in franchise history. In turn, the Survivors must cooperatively work together as a team to fend off the Mastermind’s attacks and complete puzzle style mission objectives to escape the map before time runs out. Each Survivor possesses unique skills to help their team overcome the Mastermind’s challenges and survive the sinister experiment.

There will be a special early access opportunity to playtest this working project at TGS. In addition, Xbox Insider Program members and RE Ambassadors will be eligible for a chance to participate in the Project Resistance closed beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The closed beta will run from October 4 through October 7. Registration will be open between Sept. 11 and 18 at https://www.project-resistance.com/en/. More details on Project Resistance and the closed beta will be revealed at a later date.

Endless Space 2 Awakening Expansion Out Now

Paris & Buenos Aires, September 12 – We here at Amplitude, in collaboration with NGD Studios, are happy to announce today that “Awakening”, the latest expansion for Endless Space 2, is available now. If you’ve never played ES2 before, allow us to fill you in: it’s a galactic turn-based strategy game that puts you at the helm of your very own space empire. The Endless universe is full of different factions vying for control, each with their own stories and unique characteristics that make for radically different gameplay depending on which faction you’ve selected as a player.

We’ve pushed this asymmetry even further with “Awakening”, by introducing the all-new Nakalim faction. Typically, what ES2 factions have in common is that they start the game focused on growth and expansion. As the Nakalim, however, you will begin as an extremely technologically advanced society that has recently been awakened from a dormant state. Your mission will not be to expand, but rather to seek ancient relics and reconquer lost lands, and to maintain your lead all the while staving off decline.

But the Nakalim are just one element of this jam-packed new expansion. Here’s the rundown of everything that’s included:

EXPANSION CONTENT

  • Nakalim – The aforementioned new playable faction has a large technology head start, balanced by weak science per turn. They depend on discovering lost Relics to learn new technologies. Their relationship with the Academy allows them to gain control over other systems through the Influence of their temples.
  • Four new Heroes – The Nakalim are explorers, warriors, and believers. Use these heroes to master exploration and for developing systems and diplomatic influence.
  • New fleet – Re-discover and take control of your ancient territories with heavily defended exploration-oriented fleets.
  • Minor Faction – Xirmisala – Dust-sensitive philosophers whose skills were defined by the community via a Games2Gether vote.
  • Academy empire – The Academy has always been the training ground for Endless Space’s legendary heroes. In “Awakening”, the Academy becomes an empire with the ability to manage star systems, fleets, and colonize new worlds. Contribute to their expansion, and you will be duly rewarded with special Academy roles that will give you special powers and bonuses, as well as access to the Academy’s own fleet of impressive ships.

Awakening is available now on Steam for [$12.99/€12.99/£10.99].
