Midsummer Scream 2018 tickets are now on-sale! If you have yet to experience Midsummer Scream and are a fan of Halloween or horror movies, you owe it to yourself to go. Here is our photo gallery from the 2017 Midsummer Scream, which also was held at the Long Beach Convention Center. Some interesting highlights for this year’s event include:

Commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelly’s “Frankenstein”.
Confrmed special guests include Kimberly J. Brown, star of the “Halloweentown” series of Disney Channel Movies; Buzzfeed Unsolved hosts Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej; and the hosts of the Shock Waves podcast.
Slashback Video, the art exhibit which recreated an ’80s era video rental store inside of Bearded Lady’s Mystic Museum, will be making an appearance all weekend long at Midsummer Scream.

LONG BEACH, CA – Midsummer Scream, the largest Halloween and horror fan convention in the world, returns to Southern California July 28-29 for an unforgettable weekend of thrills, chills, and frightful fun all under one roof at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.

Tickets for Midsummer Scream 2018 are now on sale at MidsummerScream.org including single-day General Admission passes to the brand-new, limited-edition Gold Bat Weekend Pass, which enables guests to access the show floor and other aspects of Midsummer Scream an hour early each day before the convention opens to the general public; front of line priority access to panel presentations and attractions throughout the venue; a collectible lanyard and credential; and a Gold Bat enamel pin.

Marking its third year, Midsummer Scream is expected to draw nearly 25,000 fans of all things Halloween and horror to Long Beach, where they will find a huge show floor featuring more than 200 unique vendors, a children’s activity area, a wide variety of live entertainment performances, celebrity appearances, a black cat adoption lounge, educational classes and programs, thousands of cosplayers in amazing costumes; world-class panels and presentations; and more than a dozen haunted attractions and elaborate displays for guests to experience.

Midsummer Scream is thrilled to announce the return of industry giants Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Scary Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest, and Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. These cornerstone presentations will take place throughout the weekend on the main stage, attended by thousands of hard core fans ready for the latest and greatest season announcements from these juggernauts of Halloween!

The vendor floor and Hall of Shadows will now each have their own individual halls at the Long Beach Convention Center. Featuring more than a dozen walk-through haunts and attractions, as well as creepy displays, roaming monsters, billowing fog, dark vendors, and a large performance stage, Hall of Shadows is once again the home of the Decayed Brigade sliders team, which will perform several shows daily throughout the weekend.

#WarGames Season 1 Trailer and Launch Date

NEW YORK – Mar. 1, 2018 – Eko today announced that “#WarGames,” the interactive series that reimagines Metro Goldwyn Mayer’s (MGM) three-time Academy Award-nominated 1983 feature film, will launch online on March 14, 2018. The six-episode season will be available at HelloEko.com, the Eko iOS app, Vudu.com, Steam, and is coming soon to Xbox One.

Created by Sam Barlow (“Her Story,” “Silent Hill”), an executive creative director at Eko, “#WarGames” puts viewers in the middle of a tale of hacktivism, modern-day espionage and military intrigue. Through the point of view of a young woman seeking justice for her family, viewers will shape the story. #WarGames is produced by Eko and m ss ng p eces. Viewers will follow Jess Nurse (“Scandal,” “Grace and Frankie”) as Kelly, an ex-military brat turned hacker activist, as she and a team of international hackers band together in an attempt to bring about peace. As events escalate, they may have done more harm than good. Viewers influence the story by switching between video feeds and the series “learns” from their choices, resulting in experiences that are unique and personal.

World of Warplanes Introduces Invasion and Attrition Game Modes

February 28, 2018 — Take to the skies in the six-week Operation Westwall event, kicking off March 2. Following in the wake of the greatly successful relaunch of World of Warplanes late last year, players can take two innovative modes for a spin—Invasion and Attrition Warfare—for Tier IV and higher warplanes.

Players can expand their tactics and experience the battle like never before in the new Invasion mode, which pits a defending side against an attacking force. At the start of battle, the defending team owns several sectors and must defend them while the other team’s mission is to capture those sectors before time runs out. After capturing each sector, the attacking team accrues additional time to assault the remaining the sectors in search of victory. Both teams have a limited number of respawns, so communicating with your teammates and playing smart is key.

Attrition Warfare missions are centered around destroying enemy aircraft and controlling sectors. The more sectors a team controls, the more important the loss of each aircraft is for an opponent. Attrition Warfare has no respawn limit.

Playing these new modes and completing battle missions will give pilots a chance to earn two brand-new Tier VIII vehicles: the Dornier Do 335A-1 Pfeil and the Curtiss XF-15C. The Dornier Do 335A-1 Pfeil was Germany’s fastest piston-engine aircraft, armed with devastating bombs. The Curtiss XF-15C was one of the US Navy’s fastest fighters and shooters of its time; only 3 such aircraft were built.

These new modes also launch with new maps inspired by real locations—Lighthouse and Winter War, so get prepared to master new challenges and air spaces. Winter War sees players tackle multiple altitudes in the dead of night so pilots need to keep their heads on a swivel to combat low visibility. It’s key to be extra cautious near heated occupation points that provide advantages to every craft, too.

Lighthouse transports players to a map rife with cloud cover and lashing rain. Smart players will use cover wisely to get the drop on opponents or drift above the downpour for an advantage in all-out dogfights.

Animation (WBA) unleash their heroes, DC Super Heroes and antiheroes (both animated and live action), as well as a fully sparkled Unikitty, when four WBTV series and three WBA series attend the fan fest in Anaheim March 23–25. Special Video Presentations, panels and Q&A sessions with The 100 (premiering Tuesday, April 24 at 9/8c The CW), DC Super Hero series Teen Titans Go! (Fridays 6/5c Cartoon Network) and Unikitty! (Fridays 6:30/5:30c Cartoon Network) take place on Friday, March 23. BATTLETECH Pre-Orders Are Now Live

STOCKHOLM – Feb. 27, 2018 – Paradox Interactive and Harebrained Schemes today announced pre-orders for BATTLETECH are now live. The first modern turn-based, tactical combat game set within the MechWarrior universe will launch this April on Steam for Windows PC and Mac.

In the first of a three-part video series, Jordan Weisman (creator of BattleTech), Mitch Gitelman (Studio Manager) and Mike McCain (Game Director) detail BATTLETECH’s unique combat system and the tactical challenges players will face commanding building-sized war machines on the battlefield. There’s also a fair amount of ‘Mech-punching, naturally.

Corsair Gaming HS60 Wired Surround Headset Review

The Corsair HS60 wired surround sound gaming headset features classy style and a fairly comfortable fit. In terms of its design, it takes all of its technical specs, looks, and style from the Corsair HS50 wired stereo headset – in fact, it’s actually the same headset. Where the HS50 and HS60 differ is that the HS60 comes with a USB surround sound dongle that provides virtual 7.1 channel audio as well as is offered in a slightly different color combination. Really, the surround sound dongle is what the extra $20 dollars is for in the jump from the HS50 to the HS60, and it is well worth the upgrade. I got the chance to test out the HS60 using my PC gaming rig, over the course of a variety of situations, but more on that later.

In terms of design, the Corsair HS60 features dark style with large, comfy ear cups that I wore for a few hours in each of my play sessions and did not feel any ear discomfort. I did feel a little sore spot on the top of my head where the headband was touching it, but nothing too bad. Overall, it feels great to wear and, while not as comfortable as more expensive Corsair headsets, it can easily be donned for a few hours without too much issue. The removable boom microphone is flexible, and allows for a lot of customization in making sure it is placed for best audio pickup.

The Corsair software suite that controls all their peripherals now, the CUE (Corsair Utility Engine) allows gamers to customize the HS60’s sound profile in a virtual sound equalizer and even comes with a variety of presets that you might find viable. It should be noted, however, that the CUE software will only work with the HS60 when connected to your computer with the USB dongle. If connected to your computer via 3.5mm jack, it will just be used as any other set of stereo headphones.

According to the manufacturer, the HS60 is “Discord Certified”. This means that the microphone and audio have been tested for quality communication and sound. What exact testing methodology was used in this determination is anyone’s guess. However, it seems to be legit as I had no issues at all communicating with Discord and the audio seemed good. I was able to hear others without issue and others said my audio came in loud and clear.

As far as gaming with the Corsair H60 headset goes, I have no big complaints. The virtual surround sound was nice and I experienced fine audio from Metal Gear Survive, Fallout 4, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, and other titles. In fact, I was very impressed with the HS60’s sound separation – especially at its $70 dollar price point. Where I wish the headset had been a bit better was in listening to higher quality music tracks. When doing so, I noticed that sometimes the audio sound a bit, for lack of a better term, “muffled” at the higher end of the sound spectrum. Not bad, but you could definitely hear it. For regular MP3 playing though, I doubt the average person will notice. On the low end, the 50mm drivers do a fine job of pumping out the bass without overpowering everything else.

Overall, the Corsair HS60 wired surround gaming headphones are a great option for those gamers looking to have good virtual surround sound while not breaking their bank accounts. At $69.99, it is right in line with other headsets in this category and is extremely comfortable to wear. In addition, its low-key, dark style will not serve as a distraction when playing, making it a good choice for tournament play.
