The Medium 14 Minutes of Gameplay Video

Bloober Team, the studio behind acclaimed horror games including Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux and Layers of Fear, today debuted an extended look at gameplay from its upcoming psychological horror title The Medium, that showcases the different perspectives, environments and powers players will experience when the game is released on Jan. 28 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The 14-minute video sees the titular medium Marianne explore the real and spirit world both alternatively and simultaneously; showcasing the unique split-screen dual reality gameplay system that will see you play in two locations at the same time. Throughout the game, players will be pushed and pulled seamlessly between these two worlds – with about a third of the action taking place in the real world, a third solely in the spirit world and a third in both realms simultaneously.

Marianne is gifted with a number of psychic abilities she must combine to overcome the threats and obstacles of both worlds, such as the protective Spirit Shield and the more potent Spirit Blast. As she uses her powers to untangle the mystery of the Niwa resort, her investigation eventually takes her beyond the walls of the haunted hotel to other locations, including the mysterious Old Fort showcased for the first time in the new gameplay.

The video also gives players a taste of gameplay encounters against The Maw, the main antagonist voiced by Troy Baker, and reveals one of its unique abilities. Deceitful and insatiable, The Maw just like Marianne can travel between the real and the spirit world, thus chasing Marianne across both realities. In the spirit world, The Maw is visible and can easily spot Marianne, while she can defend herself with the Spirit Blast. However, travelling to the material world makes The Maw invisible but also blind, so it relies solely on hearing to locate its prey there.

The Medium is Bloober Team’s largest and most ambitious project to date and players can head to www.themediumgame.com to preorder on Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store at the price of $49.99/€49.99/£41.74 with a 10% off discount before launch. Players who preorder via Steam will receive The Medium Original Soundtrack (by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski) and The Art of The Medium (digital artbook).

Developed and published by Bloober Team, and rated “M for Mature” by the ESRB and PEGI 18, The Medium will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store on Jan. 28.

WandaVision Gets A New TV Spot

A new TV spot airs tonight featuring Marvel Studios’ upcoming new Disney+ series “WandaVision,” a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The spot reveals an original theme song written by Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (“Frozen”), who penned unique songs for several episodes, spanning from the 1950s to the early 2000s.

“‘WandaVision’ is such a cool, strange, one-of-a-kind project,” says Lopez. “When the director, Matt Shakman—an old friend from my college days—pitched it to us, we didn’t have to think about it. We loved the bright feeling of American sitcoms mixed with the deep sense of unease the story had, and it was a really inviting challenge to help set that tone.”

Adds Anderson-Lopez, “I grew up in the ’80s watching shows from every decade on the networks all day long. Episodes from ‘I Love Lucy,’ ‘Brady Bunch’ and ‘Family Ties’ shaped who I am and how I move through the world. So this project was a dream come true.”

“WandaVision,” the first Marvel Studios series created exclusively for Disney+, stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Paul Bettany as Vision, Kathryn Hahn as Agnes, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, who was introduced to audiences in “Captain Marvel.” Kat Dennings will reprise her role as Darcy from “Thor” and “Thor: The Dark World,” and Randall Park will reprise his role as Jimmy Woo from “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The series is directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer. Composer is Christophe Beck, and theme (for certain episodes) is by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Featuring nine episodes, “WandaVision” kicks off on Disney+ on January 15, 2021.

Now, pet parents have two additional weeks Jan. 4 through 17 to enjoy this pet-friendly activity featuring festive holiday theming and seasonal music favorites. “Keeping pets warm and dry is important during these cold winter months. If you’re looking for a fun and safe activity that includes the companionship of your beloved pet, the entire family can drive through the theme park together,” said Six Flags Veterinarian Dr. Ken Keiffer.

“We loved being able to enjoy the lights with our dogs from the warmth of our car. Both of our dogs were mesmerized, one dog propped up on each of our laps gazing out the window,” said Six Flags guest AJ Nicholas of dogs Tucker and Leo. “Whenever we’re able to include our dogs in our activities, we jump at the opportunity, and so do they.”

“She loved it, as you can see,” said Six Flags guest Tammy Pohero of her pup, Zoey.

As one of the largest holiday drive-through events in the Northeast and the only one inside a theme park, the Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience includes 12 immersive, distinctly different areas throughout the 140-acre theme park filled with an exquisite palette of colorful twinkling lights, live entertainment, and festive music. Guests enjoy distanced greetings from beloved holiday characters decked out for the holidays, popular iconic holiday decorations, a drive-by featuring Santa’s elves, a custom soundtrack available for streaming from the park’s website, and much more.

The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience debuted Nov. 30 and ran Monday through Thursday evenings through Dec. 17. Due to overwhelming demand, the season was extended twice to include Jan. 4 through 17, 2021. All guests are required to make a reservation at www.sixflags.com/reserve. Admission tickets for this first-ever event are available on a first come, first served basis and are sold per person for each night. Pets are free. Admission is also free with active Memberships and Season Passes, and reservations are required. Ticket sales are not available at the gate. The event and its live entertainment are weather permitting.

The safety of guests and team members is always Six Flags’ top priority. The new Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience offers a contactless experience that follows CDC, state, and county health and safety guidelines. To prevent overcrowding and provide proper social distancing, a limited number of cars are allowed each night.

Event requirements include use of masks if windows are down, no smoking, littering, stopping, or exiting vehicles. Due to the limited size of certain areas and terrain within the theme park, only cars, SUVs, vans, and pick-up trucks are permitted. No busses, RVs, commercial vehicles, dually pick-up trucks, trailers, or motorcycles will be allowed. A maximum speed of three mph, and maintaining a safe distance between cars, is strictly enforced.

As part of Six Flags’ comprehensive safety procedures, all employees are required to wear masks and are temperature-checked and health-screened each day. Gloves are worn as appropriate, per guidelines. Six Flags encourages guests to plan accordingly for restroom breaks, gasoline, and food. Portable restrooms are available at the entrance and exit. For the full Holiday in the Park experience, including world-class thrill rides, festive treats, holiday shopping, fire pits, live entertainment and more, guests are encouraged to plan their visit through Jan. 3, 2021.
