Blood Bowl 3 Announcement Trailer

Strap on your boots, don your helmet, adjust your shoulder guards and chest plate… and slip a sharpened dagger into your belt (it’s the rules): NACON and Cyanide studio are pleased to announce Blood Bowl 3, the new video game adaptation of the cult Games Workshop board game. Planned for release in early 2021, the game will be available on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Blood Bowl 3 is the videogame of fantasy football. A turn-based strategy game inspired by American football in the Warhammer fantasy world where elves, humans, orcs and other creatures fight for the ball with shoulder charges, kicks, punches and weapons of varying degrees of lethality (and legality by the ref). As the coach, you must give instructions to your players: hinder the progress of your opponents by positioning them in your tackle zone, knock down those who get in your way, and break through to your opponents’ end zone to score a touchdown!

All your units can gain experience and receive statistic bonuses or new skills. However, be careful: injuries are common, especially when the referee is a goblin who tends to overlook most forms of violence. Some players may even leave the field limp and lifeless, putting an early and definitive end to their careers.

Blood Bowl 3 is a faithful adaptation of the Games Workshop board game, which is to receive a new edition this year. The game will use the new edition rules, teams (including the new Black Orcs and Imperial Nobility), units and associated skills. The best strategists will obviously be at an advantage, but will that be enough? All it takes is one unfortunate roll of the dice to change the course of a match.

Funnier, bloodier and more spectacular than ever, Blood Bowl 3 will be a hit with fans of the universe and competitive players alike. At launch, the game will include 12 races, each with their own arena and team of cheerleaders, campaign and multiplayer modes, and loads of customization options. Regular content updates will be added after launch.

Outbreak: The New Nightmare PS4 Release Date Trailer

Paying homage to the classic Resident Evil Outbreak games, Outbreak: The New Nightmare is the first fully 3D title in Dead Drop Studios’ Outbreak series – and the sequel to Outbreak (released in 2017). Prepare yourself for an unforgiving survival horror experience that’s seldom seen today as you scavenge for supplies, explore environments with multiple characters (each with their own attributes), and struggle to survive against the undead – now more horrifying than ever!

“Retro survival horror games don’t really get made any more. The recent Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes are the closest we’ve come. Games like Resident Evil: Outbreak weren’t made at all … at least not until now! I happen to love retro/classic games and survival horror games in particular, so I knew there was a market for this type of unforgiving, hard-as-nails experience. That’s the genesis of the first Outbreak (originally a top-down 2D game) and now Outbreak: The New Nightmare.”

– Evan Wolbach (Founder, Dead Drop Studios)

Outbreak: The New Nightmare has been massively updated since its original Steam release. New features include:

  • Local split-screen co-op (vertical or horizontal)
  • Huge performance and graphics improvements (FPS, memory usage, real-time shadows and lighting, volumetric lighting, and more)
  • New scenarios/game content
  • New characters (Elena and Hank)
  • Nightmare difficulty mode
  • Radical weapon rebalancing (handguns/shotguns heavily buffed, random enemy spawns extremely reduced on Normal and Hard modes, hit detection from enemies greatly improved – and power weapons spawn in much earlier waves in Onslaught mode)
  • Improved animations
  • New weapon (DMR)
  • Enemy pathfinding/AI improvements (e.g., enemies don’t attack through doors – opening them instead)

Outbreak: The New Nightmare is now available on PS4 for $12.99.

Netflix Announces Resident Evil Live Action Series

Netflix’s home of all things geek – confirmed today that a scripted live action series inspired by Capcom’s massive Resident Evil franchise is coming to Netflix.

Building on one of the most popular, best selling survival horror video games of all time, Resident Evil will tell a brand new story across two timelines:

In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.

Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past – about her sister, her father and herself – continue to haunt her.

ANDREW DABB, Showrunner/Executive Producer/Writer, said: “Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time. I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world. For every type of Resident Evil fan, including those joining us for the first time, the series will be complete with a lot of old friends, and some things (bloodthirsty, insane things) people have never seen before.”

  • EPISODES: 8 x 1-hour episodes
  • SHOWRUNNER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/WRITER: Andrew Dabb (Supernatural)
  • DIRECTOR/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead, The Journey Is The Destination) will direct and executive produce the first two episodes
  • EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film and Mary Leah Sutton
  • PRODUCER: Constantin Film CEO Martin Moszkowicz
  • STUDIO: Constantin Film
