Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) returns to the North American continent! June 3-5, 2022, fans are invited to enter the arena of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center during DreamHack Dallas to cheer on the world’s best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) teams.
IEM Dallas 2022 marks ESL’s first live event in the Americas in almost three years and will take place at the first full-scale DreamHack festival in nearly 2.5 years. The most recent ESL events on U.S. soil were IEM Chicago and ESL One New York in 2019. At both previous events, a U.S. team eventually secured the trophy. We will know whether this is bound to happen again in just one month.
What’s at Stake
While battling it out for a share of the $250,000 total prize pool, 16 top CS:GO teams will face off starting May 30 to earn a spot in the playoffs and play on stage in front of a live audience. The IEM Katowice 2022 runner-up G2 Esports, the ESL Pro League Season 15 runner-up ENCE Esports, the Danish powerhouse Heroic, the recently signed Cloud9 roster, and the remarkable Australian squad LookingForOrg are all among the qualified teams.
Having a chance to compete on their home turf, Complexity Gaming has also secured its spot in the tournament. They are joined by the two Brazilian squads FURIA Esports and Imperial Esports, who will show whether it’s new blood or the veterans who make the biggest impact. Ninjas in Pyjamas also has a shot at manifesting the effect of their latest roster addition: the young Swede Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin. The Czech organization Entropiq and the German organization MOUZ are the latest two additions to the list as they secured a spot for IEM Dallas by finishing in the top two of the EU Closed Qualifier on May 4.
Furthermore, by securing their spot for IEM Dallas, FaZe Clan will have a chance to earn their third title in the race for the Intel® Grand Slam IV and its $1 million cash prize. To add this desired third out of the four needed wins to their name, they will need to compete with the previous Intel® Grand Slam winners — Astralis, Team Liquid, and Natus Vincere — who all qualified for IEM Dallas as well. In addition, former IEM title holder Team Vitality will also participate in the tournament, offering them the chance to go head-to-head with FaZe Clan in the race to mark their name in CS:GO history.
Finally, the competing teams will be facing off to earn ESL Pro Tour (EPT) points. These EPT points are needed to qualify for and join the already qualified FaZe Clan at IEM Cologne, which will take place in Cologne, Germany, July 5-17.

When and Where to Watch
The group stage of IEM Dallas kicks off on Monday, May 30. Until June 1, two groups of eight teams will battle it out in a double-elimination Bo3. After that, the top three teams of each group will proceed to the playoff stage, taking place live at DreamHack Dallas in the arena of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, on June 3-5. The playoff matches will be single-elimination, with the quarter and semi-finals played out as Bo3, and the Grand Final as Bo5.

IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) today announced that starting this summer, the cinematic thrill of the world’s biggest and best video games are set to arrive in IMAX theaters for the first time when Summer Game Fest Live!, the game industry’s mid-year digital fan celebration, and The Game Awards, the video game industry’s annual year-end awards show, air live in IMAX theaters in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom.

Animal Shelter Simulator is one of the biggest premieres in recent months in Games Incubator’s portfolio. It received a warm welcome and gained many positive reviews. Now the developer has announced a DLC for the game.
Animal Shelter Simulator: Puppies & Kittens will be additional content for the main game. It brings new challenges which will test the players’ skills.
Players can expect a lot of new content with this DLC. It will bring new buildings and decorations to the main game, as well as new healing mechanics. But the most important aspect of it will be the addition of puppies and kittens. These small animals will steal your heart and make you happy when you will find a new home for them. Also, new animations for pets will be added – mostly focused on the mechanics of feeding and playing.

Today, to kick off Star Wars Day, Disney+ released a brand-new trailer and key art for “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” offering a riveting look at the highly anticipated limited series. “Obi-Wan Kenobi” will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on Friday, May 27, with the first two episodes. Following the premiere, the series will stream weekly on Wednesdays, until the finale on Wednesday, June 22.
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. The award-winning series returns on May 26 as Sniper Elite 5 releases simultaneously on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5, Epic, Steam and the Windows Store.
The game’s expansive campaign is set in France in 1944 and centers around the events of D-Day. Elite marksman Karl Fairburne uncovers a Nazi plot called Operation Kraken that could turn the tide of the war back in their favor. Working in the shadows behind enemy lines, Karl has to use all the skills at his disposal to destroy Operation Kraken and the mastermind behind it Abelard Möller. The full Campaign is playable in two-player online co-op, allowing players to team up as they fight the Axis force and track down Möller.
However, human players can also try to thwart Karl’s progress as the new Invasion Mode allows an opposing player to join your game as an Axis Sniper tasked with hunting Karl down and taking him out. The invading player can make use of AI Axis soldiers to help them find Karl’s location, creating a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Meanwhile, Karl can utilize phones placed within the level to gather intel on the invader and their location. Invasion Mode can be toggled on/off in the game menu.
Multiplayer is not restricted to the campaign as a suite of tense multiplayer combat modes are also available. Complete with all format crossplay, Sniper Elite 5’s multiplayer features four core game modes each with a host of customization options, allowing players to create their own matches.
The Sniper Elite franchise has always been recognized for its advanced gun physics and this has been elevated even further for Sniper Elite 5. With weaponry painstaking recreated from real-world references to ensure maximum authenticity, the guns in Sniper Elite 5 contain a meticulous level of detail and all have their own unique feel and characteristics to the player.
The series defining Kill Cam has also been elevated. Clinical kills with pistols and SMG will now trigger the Kill Cam in addition to rifle and takedown kills. Bullets will ricochet off bone, causing increased devastation which is shown to the player in even more gory detail than ever before.
Weapon customization has also been greatly enhanced with players now able to change a weapon’s stock, magazines, receiver, barrel, scopes and iron sights as well as its materials. This allows every player to create a suite of weapons that perfectly suit their individual playstyle as well as the mission that they are undertaking. Customization options are unlocked in the game by discovering workbenches that are hidden within the maps. At these benches, players can then customize their loadout meaning that they can adapt their playstyle and approach on the fly without having to restart a mission.
New traversal mechanics have unlocked even more playstyle options. The routes you take can define if you are stealthy and stay in the shadows or go loud and take the fight to the enemies head-on. The ability to climb vines, for example, allows Karl to reach new areas of the map giving him sneaky routes, great vantage points and access to secret locations further adding to each mission’s replayability.
