Throughout Dying Light 2 Stay Human’s record-setting launch and last year’s intense production, Techland continued working on its mysterious upcoming title and now prepares to significantly grow the development team.

Click me to make big!

“We’re very happy with what we have accomplished with the Dying Light franchise so far. Moreover, our journey with Dying Light 2 Stay Human has only just begun as we plan to support this game for at least 5 years, with its scope and size matching, if not exceeding, what we have provided our community with during post-launch support for its predecessor. At the same time, our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP that is vastly different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity. While we cannot share more details about this project now, we’re all truly invested in it and looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time is right.” – said Paweł Marchewka, CEO at Techland

  • Arkadiusz Borowik – Narrative Lead who previously worked with CD Projekt Red on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, plus its DLCs

Bohemai Interactive Unveils Road to Arma 4 with Arma Reforger

Today, Bohemia Interactive invites Arma fans to experience the future of the series with a work-in-progress version of their next release, Arma Reforger. Simultaneously, the Czech-based game company officially confirms the development of the highly anticipated Arma 4 in a new cinematic video recounting the franchise’s most significant milestones.

Arma Reforger, available now on PC (Early Access) and Xbox Series X/S (Game Preview), will showcase the studio’s progress on their new Enfusion engine and offer a glimpse of things to come. Functioning as a creative platform, Arma Reforger will provide multiple tools and services for users to modify and adjust the experience.

As a standalone installment, Arma Reforger serves a platform for players to enjoy the new capabilities of Enfusion as well as to provide valuable feedback for the ongoing development of Arma 4. Besides this, Arma Reforger hopes to empower Bohemia Interactive’s dedicated community of modders with an exciting new suite of integrated, in-house Enfusion tools.

Drawing on the success of Bohemia Interactive’s debut game Arma: Cold War Assault, Arma Reforger returns players to the island of Everon and a familiar fictional 1980’s setting. The terrain itself, part of the fictitious Malden Islands archipelago, has been reimagined and faithfully recreated, with added improvements, such as lakes, ponds, and flowing rivers; each a popular feature request, made possible through Enfusion. The terrain, spanning an impressive 164 km2 area containing 51 km2 of landmass, offers players a stunning environment to discover, replete with dense forests, low-rolling hills, mountains, patchwork fields, and idyllic towns, inspired by the former state of Czechoslovakia and embellished with some necessary overtures towards the nation’s historic French heritage and maritime flavor.

In terms of playable content, Arma Reforger comes with two multiplayer game modes. The first of these is Conflict— a team versus team deployment, where players are compelled to work together in order to capture strategic positions from the enemy. By base-building and completing tasks, combatants can earn battlefield promotions and rise up through the ranks. There are two factions to choose from, American or Soviet, and each comes with its own era-authentic weapons, vehicles, and equipment. There is also a smaller independent force, with unique apparel that community veterans will quickly recognize from the first game in the company’s mil-sim legacy.

The second game mode is a real-time scenario editor, known as Game Master. In this dynamic sandbox, one or more curators take on the role of Game Master, creating responsive combat encounters for other players. Designed with both newcomers and long-standing Arma gamers in mind, this fast-paced, mod-compatible mission-maker ensures playthroughs are different every time.

In addition to all this, Arma Reforger is launching with access to an exclusive, in-game platform for sharing user content, named Workshop. Here, mods generated by PC users can be published for everyone to enjoy, including those playing on console. Furthermore, Bohemia Interactive is supporting the game’s release with Workbench; a software package that provides the community with the very same tools used for development. Any user, with a fair knowledge of C# scripting, should be able to add custom AI behaviors, audio and visual assets, or even completely new gameplay mechanics. Artists too can import their creations using intuitive, streamlined workflows. Essentially, imaginative players will be able to explore Enfusion to its limits and receive a crash course in Arma 4 modding, well ahead of schedule.

Main features of Arma Reforger are:
  • Game Modes
Take to the battlefield in one of Arma Reforger‘s two multiplayer game modes. Select a side and fight for the island of Everon in Conflict, or edit scenarios in Game Master and manage events as they unfold, guiding players through the chaos of war
  • Multiplatform
Experience authentic combat on both Xbox and PC, for the first time in the Arma series. Modded content is no longer exclusive to PC players and can be downloaded by console owners from the content creation repository on the Workshop.
  • Multiplayer
Join other players in the Conflict game mode and fight for the island of Everon across a massive open-world terrain, or create your own scenario as a Game Master in Arma Reforger‘s real-time editor.
  • Reforging Arma
Arma Reforger is a versatile platform for player exploration — powered by the all-new Enfusion engine. Every aspect of the game can be modded using Workbench, a suite of in-house development tools, designed specifically for the Arma community.
  • Workshop
Expand the game with original modded content or make and share your own! The Workshop is Bohemia Interactive’s own integrated, repository service, meaning console players can also enjoy add-ons created by PC users.
  • Workbench
Thanks to the Enfusion engine, you can mod Arma Reforger using the exact same tools used to make it. Introduce new mechanics, assets, and more. The only limit is your technical abilities and imagination. Reshape the game and share your own creative vision!

At present, Arma Reforger has no official v1.0 release date, although it will leave Early Access/Game Preview once it’s considered complete. Bohemia Interactive is also pledging continued support for the title, even as their teams shift their focus and resources towards Arma 4.

Explore Bohemia Interactive’s web pages that present the past, present, and future of Arma. ArmaPlatform congregates all the Arma titles, easy access to the games themselves, and information. Arma Reforger website addresses the latest installment in the Arma series. Arma 4 website will outline the upcoming title in the future.

Halloween Horror Nights Unveils Universal Monsters: Legends Collide Maze

Universal Pictures’ most notorious horror icons, The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy, come together for the first time ever in the all-new “Universal Monsters: Legends Collide” haunted houses as part of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort – where these infamous classic monsters invite guests to join them in an epic battle beginning this September.

Halloween Horror Nights continues to expand on the thrilling legacy from Universal Pictures – the movie studio that birthed the classic horror monsters on screen – with this original haunted house debuting at Universal Studios’ theme parks from coast-to-coast.  Inspired by the event’s previous Universal Monsters attractions, this year’s unique experience resurrects the monstrous triple threat of The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy for one harrowing haunted house.

This bi-coastal experience will transport guests to the 19th century with the trio of monsters seeking one thing: The Amulet of Ra. The Wolf Man believes this ancient relic contains the power to finally lift his dreaded curse, while Dracula and The Mummy have nefarious plans to use it to bring humankind to its knees. With the full moon on the rise and a race against time, guests find themselves entangled in a bloodthirsty battle between the terrifying titans – and only one will survive.

Elevating the mayhem, GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, SLASH, returns to collaborate with Universal Studios Hollywood with an original composition for their haunted house.

Halloween Horror Nights begins on Friday, September 2 in Orlando with 10 terrifying haunted houses and Thursday, September 8 in Hollywood with eight frightening haunted houses. Both events will run select nights through Monday, October 31, and additional details will be revealed soon.

Tickets and vacation packages are now on sale for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort,  and tickets for Universal Studios Hollywood will be available soon. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com.

Toy Soldiers HD Gets Big Update

Toy Soldiers HD is the digital embodiment of our childhood imagination mixed with strategy and military action. WWI era toy soldiers and military vehicles locked in strategic combat filled with authentic sights and sounds.

Relive your childhood Toy Soldiers HD is a diorama of military action set in a child’s bedroom, a library, lounge, and more. At your command are toy army soldiers, tanks, biplanes, bombers, machine guns, mortars, fixed upgradeable emplacements to defend your base from waves of increasingly challenging attacks. These ingredients make Toy Soldiers HD a lot of fun to play.

Like many strategy games, you carefully build your defenses and plot your offensive moves, but one of the things that makes Toy Soldiers HD unique is the ability to instantly pop in and out of the battlefield from both third-person top-down strategic perspective and first-person POV shooter perspective in both single and multiplayer. Watch the battle play out as you build, upgrade, and repair your defenses or jump feet first into it and wage war against your opponent. Don’t worry, when you go full first-person POV, AI takes over your units.

Hunt: Showdown Gets New Quest System

Crytek has expanded Hunt: Showdown by adding a new quest system to the game with the launch today of Update 1.8.1 on PC. Players will be able to “summon” quests to complete when they enter the bayou, with challenges like taking down specific enemies, killing grunts, locating boss lairs, and more. There are five quest categories to choose from, ranging from Simple to Legendary. Players will earn more stars for completing more difficult challenges. Each week players can earn up to 30 stars, which will offer a maximum reward of 25 Blood Bonds. Additional rewards for completing quests will include in-game items like explosives and pistols, and available quests will rotate and reset every Monday.

The Hunt: Showdown community is invited to help shape the development of this new feature by giving their feedback on the game’s social channels. Players have the chance to see their ideas for quests come to the game. Ideas can be submitted on social media channels using the hashtag “#SuggestAQuest.” Qualifying quest ideas will be collated by the Hunt: Showdown team and a community vote will be held based on a shortlist. The winning idea will be added to a future update to the game.

“The new quest system will give players more control over the in-game challenges they wish to take on and the chance to earn more rewards every day,” said Fatih Özbayram, Senior Producer for Hunt: Showdown. “Hunt is a community-driven game, and this exciting new system will expand and evolve as we progress, shaped by player feedback. We’re also delighted to offer fans the chance to see their idea for a quest implemented in the game. The Hunt community is full of creativity, and we can’t wait to see what ideas players come up with!”

Find out more about the new quest system by checking out the full update notes on Steam.

Update 1.8.1 is expected to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this week.
