But that’s not all. Now that we have your attention, it’s time for a new mind-blowing trailer.
Get to know more of the two warring sides – the good guys and the baddies, with their larger-than-life personalities all fatally locked into this extraordinary confrontation.
“The future hinges upon this fight”. Starting today, players can step into the Fog as Albert Wesker, Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers as the highly anticipated second installment of the Dead by DaylightTM and Resident EvilTM partnership takes flight. To celebrate the release of the Dead by Daylight: Resident EvilTM: PROJECT W Chapter, players are also treated to a rework of the iconic Raccoon City Police Department Map. They will also be able to get their hands on the impressive new Outfits from the PROJECT W Collection, which include the Carlos Oliveira, Sheva Alomar and Hunk Legendary Sets for Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine and The Legion, respectively.
Killer mains will be able to step into the shoes of the nefarious Albert Wesker, known in game as The Mastermind. A true icon of the Resident Evil franchise, Wesker is easily recognizable with his sleek blond hair, signature sunglasses, leather trench coat – and of course, his piercing orange eyes. Once a high-ranking official for Umbrella Corporation, his ambition and sense of moral superiority led him to create a powerful weaponized virus: Uroboros. Wesker’s Power, Virulent Bound, allows him to rush forward at an incredible speed, grabbing anyone that stands in his path and infecting them with Uroboros. Though he may appear cool and composed, his explosive power is unmatched.
Two Survivors are making their marks in the Entity’s Realm. Enigmatic and unpredictable, Ada Wong is a complete mystery; her true goal as elusive as she is. Her survival skills make her a valuable ally…provided interests remain aligned. Rebecca Chambers is a talented and gifted young woman who joined the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team as a field medic at 18 years old. An asset on any mission, Rebecca will go to great lengths to save a teammate in need – sometimes even risking her own life.
Starting today, players will also be able to set foot in the improved Raccoon City Police Department Map. Launched in 2021, the Map has undergone a complete quality of life update in response to player feedback. From now on, the Raccoon City Police Department will be split into two separate variations built around the West and East Wings, with both including the Main Hall. Additionally, more navigational paths have been added inside and outside of the building, leading to improved level design flow and gameplay.
“The Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil: PROJECT W Chapter marks an important milestone for us – as it is the first time we are creating a second Chapter in the same licensed universe,” explains Dave Richard, Creative Director for Dead by Daylight. “It’s an opportunity for our fans to continue immersing themselves in one of the most popular horror universes and it is such a treat for us to continue this prolific collaboration with Capcom.”
“The Capcom Team is delighted to collaborate once more with Dead by Daylight to expand The Resident Evil Story,” explains the publisher in an official statement. “Merging the many iterations of the iconic Resident Evil characters such as Albert Wesker and seeing them stand on their own in a new universe is a proud moment. Melding two iconic horror universes together is not an easy feat – but the results are wonderful and we hope the fans will enjoy.”
Transforming into Carlos Oliveira, Sheva Alomar and Hunk
In addition to Ada Wong, Rebecca Chambers, and Albert Wesker, players are also able to step into the shoes of Carlos Olivera, Sheva Alomar, and Hunk, thanks to the Legendary Sets available in the PROJECT W Collection.
An Umbrella mercenary with a troubled past, Carlos Oliveira is ready for battle with his messy mane of hair, his heavy camo-printed vest, and tactical cargo pants. Carlos Olivera is available as a Legendary Set for Leon S. Kennedy.
Sheva Alomar is a member of the BSAA on a mission to apprehend a black-market seller of Bio-OrganicWeapons. She is ready for action with her hair slicked back in a ponytail, her alluring and practical purple singlet, and smart knee-high boots. Sheva Alomar is available as a Legendary Set for Jill Valentine.
A mysterious Umbrella specialist whose laser-focus in combat makes him a powerful enemy, Hunk is the ultimate fighter. Donning his signature gas mask, Umbrella armor, and trusted Grim Reaper blade, Hunk is available as a Legendary Set for The Legion.
The PROJECT W Collection
On top of the three Legendary Sets listed above, fans would be remiss not to take advantage of the slew of outfits available, including 7 Very Rare Outfits. Players can dress Albert Wesker in the Albert Wesker S.T.A.R.S. Outfit, Leon S. Kennedy in the Detective Noir Outfit, Ada Wong in the Undercover Espionage Outfit, Rebecca Chambers in the Cowgirl Outfit, Jill Valentine in the S.T.A.R.S. Outfit, Feng Min in the Jill Cosplay Outfit and Felix Richter in the S.T.A.R.S. Uniform Outfit.
The Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil: PROJECT W Chapter is available now via Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store, Windows Store, Nintendo Switch and Stadia.

Something Wicked Games, a brand-new studio from 15-year Bethesda Game Studios veteran Jeff Gardiner was just revealed at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. With initial seed funding of $13.2mm from NetEase, Something Wicked Games is a new, globally dispersed AAA games studio with creative and leadership talent from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, The Outer Worlds and more. Their first game, an open world AAA preternatural RPG, Wyrdsong, is currently in development.
Today’s announcement is coupled by an animatic teaser trailer for the studio’s first game, Wyrdsong. Wyrdsong is an occult historical fantasy RPG set in a fictionalized Portugal in the middle ages. Players will be challenged to question both their reality and the choices they make as Wyrdsong is set to expand, question, and re-define aspects of what makes up the current Role Playing Game genre.
Gardiner’s career in games boasts some of the most well known franchises in the RPG space. Gardiner served as lead producer and project lead across several of Bethesda’s flagship titles in the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls franchises. Before making the difficult choice to leave Bethesda Game Studios following a 15-year career, Gardiner’s efforts on Fallout 76 saw its transformation into one of the most successful, robust examples of the games-as-a-service model.
The studio’s talent roster also includes Co-Founder & Design Director Charles Staples (Obsidian Entertainment). Staples’ 15-year tenure at Obsidian was highlighted with his Design Director role on The Outer Worlds, as well as his work as Lead Level Designer on Fallout: New Vegas.
“Our goal with Something Wicked Games is to utilize our independence and creative autonomy to create the next evolution of open world RPGs,” said Something Wicked Games CEO and Founder Jeff Gardiner. “Our first project, Wyrdsong, has been my dream game for some time now, and I’m thrilled to finally share it today.”
Developed on Unreal Engine 5, Wyrdsong immerses fans in a dark historical fantasy where every decision has a consequence, both in this world and others yet to be discovered.
Headquartered in the capital region of Washington, D.C., Something Wicked Games is fully remote and hiring across all positions. Currently staffed with 12 developers, the studio hopes to achieve a full roster between 65-70 as development continues to ramp up.

Dovetail Games, developer and publisher of authentic simulation titles, today released the second development diary video for Train Sim World 3, coming to PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Game Pass on Sept. 6. Power defines trains, railways and locomotives across the world as they haul endless lines of freight cars and whisk passengers long distances at high speed. Train Sim World 3 includes some formidable, powerful locomotives and units that the team at Dovetail Games have worked hard on to ensure that the real-world sights and sounds come through to players.
U.K. Power
In the game’s U.K. route, power translates directly to speed as players take control of Britain’s fastest domestic passenger service between London St Pancras and Ashford International. Southeastern Highspeed utilises the Class 395 ‘Javelin’ EMU which draws power from overhead wires during its 140 mph runs from the capital, before switching to third-rail power for the slower, winding sections through Medway to the town of Faversham. These impressive units adorn the names of famous British Olympians in the real world, expressing their speed and power.
German Power
Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel – Würzburg, Train Sim World 3’s German route, also converts electrical power to high speed, courtesy of the iconic ICE trains. Players can stretch both ICE 1 and ICE 3 units to a mind-boggling 186 mph. Keeping this power tamed is crucial however, with massive viaducts and dynamic weather affecting the handling of these trains along with long tunnels to burst out from between Kassel, Fulda and Würzburg. Freight services can also be operated in-game, slotting between the high-speed passenger services and running well into the night.
U.S.A. Power
American locomotives have always been powerful, being larger and louder than their European counterparts. Train Sim World 3 places players at Cajon Pass, California where some of the steepest gradients requires maximum throttle going up and careful application of the brakes coming down. BNSF’s 4400hp ES44C4 joins the SD40-2 locomotives in hauling some of the U.S.A.’s longest trains through this challenging stretch of railroad between San Bernadino and Barstow, often working in multiples to provide even more power to those in the cab.
Deluxe: Steam Power
In Train Sim World 3: Deluxe Edition, players can experience a form of power like no other, with an updated version of the popular “Spirit of Steam” add-on bundled into this release. Nothing says power more than the hissing, steaming presence of the LMS 8F and Jubilee locomotives as they prepare to chuff both passenger and freight services out of Liverpool Lime Street and onto the famed railway town of Crewe.
Development
Bringing this power onto the screens has been hugely important for Train Sim World 3 and as well as feeling the grunt behind these trains, players can see the sizzling sparks and crackling pantographs of the game’s electric trains. Realistic and layered in-game sounds simulate everything from the squeal of the brakes to the coupling of wagons blasting raw power through the speakers and adding overall to the experience – Big sounds for big trains!
Developed and published by Dovetail Games, Train Sim World 3 will release for Windows PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles on Sept. 6, 2022, and will also be available via Game Pass. The title is available for pre-purchase digitally now on Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation®Store, and Microsoft Store with a Deluxe Edition available for £49.99/€59.99/$59.99 and four ‘Starter Packs’ each available for £29.99/€35.99/$39.99.
For more information about Train Sim World 3 fans can visit www.trainsimworld.com, and follow along on social media on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, Discord, YouTube, and Twitch.

Red Barrels, the independent game development studio based in Montreal, today presented the new gameplay trailer for The Outlast Trials during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022. This whole new take on the Outlast survival horror experience enters a Closed Beta playtest over Halloween weekend, from Friday October 28th to Tuesday November 1st, 2022.
Set in the height of the Cold War era, players take on the role of test subjects abducted by the shadowy Murkoff Corporation. Imprisoned in a secret Murkoff facility, players will be thrust into a series of physical and mental ordeals, tormented by iconic characters, and challenged alone or in teams to survive with their sanity intact.
“Last year, we debuted the first gameplay trailer for The Outlast Trials at Opening Night Live, and were overwhelmed by the positive reception,” said David Chateauneuf, Red Barrels co-founder and designer. “So it’s fantastic to be back again this year, and be able to provide a date for when test subjects… sorry, I mean fans, can enter the Closed Beta trials.”
The Red Barrels development team is hard at work to deliver an all-new experience with The Outlast Trials, but with the Outlast flavor fans know and love. Stay tuned for more news and updates on how to sign up for and what to expect from the Closed Beta.

DJI, the world’s leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, today introduces DJI Avata, a transformational new drone that offers an unparalleled experience of immersive flight. DJI Avata creates a new paradigm for first-person view (FPV) drone flight, allowing every pilot to race through the skies and feel its astonishing performance, agility, and easy control. Coupled with the new DJI Goggles 2 and the intuitive DJI Motion Controller, DJI Avata delivers a flight experience that was unimaginable until now.
“DJI Avata was built to awaken a desire to fly in everyone, with immersive flight technology that allows anyone to explore the almost out-of-body experience of FPV flight,” said Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director at DJI. “DJI Avata is breathtaking to fly for even a novice pilot, and includes enhanced safety features that give anyone the freedom to try creative aerial moves. Paired with the DJI Goggles 21 and the DJI Motion Controller, DJI Avata seems to ride with the wind. Whether you fly for the fun of it, to make great clips for social media, or to dazzle viewers in the production studio, DJI Avata will show you why its engrossing flight experience pulls you into a new world of soaring possibilities.”
DJI Avata opens new creative directions for beginners and professionals alike. Its unique and compact design strips down the chassis of a traditional drone into a body built for speed and agility, weighing only 410 grams while still integrating aerodynamic propeller guards for added safety. Its powerful stabilized camera, featuring a 1/1.7” CMOS sensor with 48 million effective pixels, delivers premium imaging features like 4K/60fps and 2.7K/50/60/100/120fps2 video, giving creators a scorching new tool for smoothly capturing premium video content. And with a flight time of up to 18 minutes, it can deliver a thrill ride full of power on every flight.
DJI Avata is designed to be paired with DJI Goggles 2 – DJI’s newest flight control technology – and the DJI Motion Controller, which steers the drone according to the movement of your hand. Users can also control the drone with the existing DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 and the DJI FPV Goggles V2. DJI’s unequaled flight technology means DJI Avata can hover like a traditional drone, accelerate like a racer, zoom in and out of tight spaces, and stop in a fraction of a second. If DJI Avata is pushed beyond its limits and lands upside down, a new Turtle mode allows it to flip back up and take off again. Together, DJI Avata’s flight control and stabilization technology make it the ultimate drone for fun, all while capturing vivid, professional-quality video:
DJI Goggles 2: High Resolution and Low-Latency Transmission
DJI Goggles 2 is a next-generation video headset that offers a smaller, lighter, and more comfortable fit, with a crystal-clear FPV image comparable to those from other DJI drones.3 DJI Goggles 2 features a clearer Micro-OLED screen with adjustable diopters, so people who normally wear glasses do not need to use them with the goggles. When used with the DJI Motion Controller, you can control the aircraft and the gimbal camera freely to meet your shooting needs in various scenarios. An intuitive touch panel on the side of the goggles enables you to easily control its settings with only one hand.
DJI Avata and DJI Goggles 2 connect using DJI O3+ transmission, the most powerful and reliable technology for precise control, ultra-low latency, and detailed video at 1080p/100fps with H.265 decoding. It offers the lowest transmission delay of approximately 30 milliseconds, the longest transmission distance of 10 kilometers,4 auto-switching dual frequencies, a high bitrate of 50 Mbps, and state-of-the-art anti-interference methods to ensure a reliable feed. DJI Goggles 2 also offers a Wireless Streaming function to view the live feed from your mobile phone or computer on the goggles screen, bringing you an immersive viewing experience.
DJI Motion Controller
The DJI Motion Controller is a completely reinvented flight control device that allows the pilot to precisely fly complex maneuvers based on the natural motions of one hand. The system is so intuitive that even complete beginners can get started quickly and learn to fly in continuous fluid motions, even when swooping close to the ground, whizzing past obstacles, and gliding through tight enclosures into open spaces.
Upgraded 4K Imaging System With Super Stabilization
DJI Avata has an outstanding imaging system that outstrips that on any FPV racer – a 1/1.7-inch 48MP Photo CMOS sensor with f/2.8 aperture, and an ultra-wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of up to 155°. The wider field of view enables immersive aerial photography and videography at up to 4k/60fps, as well as slow-motion footage at 2.7K/100fps. Equipped with D-Cinelike color mode, DJI Avata allows a broad color palette that enables detailed chromatic adjustments to your works.
Even during high-pressure aerial maneuvers, DJI Avata keeps your video sharp and stable with two flagship stabilization technologies. DJI RockSteady eliminates overall picture shake, and DJI HorizonSteady keeps the picture oriented toward true level. All that data flows to 20 GB of internal storage space, allowing extra freedom and spontaneity when the opportunity for a creative shot arises, even without a microSD card installed in the onboard drive.
Fly Safe With Confidence
DJI Avata’s built-in propeller guards make the fuselage more durable and greatly reduce the probability of risk, allowing you to fly more confidently with a craft that can withstand minor collisions and even right itself after a flip in Turtle mode.
When DJI Avata is in the air, pilots can rely on a suite of safety features that make flying a memorable and safe experience. A dedicated Emergency Brake and Hover feature is available in all flying modes, stopping the drone and hovering in place at any time during the flight. Failsafe Return to Home brings the drone back to its home point automatically with a press of a button, or in the event that transmission is lost or the battery reaches a critically low level.
Even at its small size, DJI Avata includes the industry-leading safety technology that DJI pioneered and has kept the world’s skies safe in the drone era. DJI Avata uses DJI’s GEO 2.0 geofencing system to advise pilots of airspace restrictions and potential hazards, and to automatically prevent drones from flying near certain high-risk locations, such as airports. DJI Avata also features DJI’s AirSense ADS-B receiver system to warn drone pilots when airplanes or helicopters are nearby, and broadcasts DJI’s AeroScope signal to help authorities monitor airborne drones in sensitive locations. The overwhelming majority of drone pilots fly safely and responsibly, and DJI Avata’s high-speed performance can warrant extra attention and care from drone pilots to be aware of their surroundings. Drone pilots flying with FPV goggles should pair with a visual observer to act as a spotter, and many jurisdictions require a visual observer to watch for airspace hazards. Always fly safely and responsibly, and be sure to understand and follow the legal requirements for flight.
DJI Avata is equipped with both an Infrared Sensing System and a two-camera Downward Vision System. They help the aircraft maintain its current position, hover more precisely, fly indoors or in other environments where satellite navigation is unavailable, and identify areas such as bodies of water that are not suitable for landing. To remain oriented during flight while wearing goggles, DJI Avata and DJI Goggles 2 also display the Home Point where the drone took off from. This Augmented Reality (AR) perspective gives an extra sense of orientation to help the pilot locate the immediate environment in seconds.
An Immersive Flight Experience for Every Skill Level
DJI Avata allows pilots from beginners to professionals to choose from multiple flight modes to match their skill level:
Normal (N) Mode: During N mode operation, DJI Avata operates similarly to other DJI drones, hovering in place with the use of satellite navigation and/or visual positioning systems (VPS) on the bottom of the drone.
Manual (M) Mode (only with the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2): Fly in M mode for complete, limitless control and the full FPV immersive flight experience. Experienced users can customize parameters and enjoy flight and footage unlike anything else.
Sport (S) Mode: A new hybrid blend of M and N mode, S mode offers some of the dynamic movement capabilities that come with M mode along with some of the key safety features of N mode. S mode is the middle step between the three modes and was developed to give pilots more room to explore their skills as they get accustomed to the drone.
Become an FPV Master With the DJI Virtual Flight App
DJI Avata is controlled with the DJI Fly app, which includes detailed tutorials on how to operate the drone. The DJI Virtual Flight App is a free simulator app that familiarizes new pilots with drone flying movements in an easy, fun and risk-free environment. The simulator allows pilots to fly DJI Avata in various settings using the dedicated controller.
Accessories to Boost Your Flight
An array of new DJI Avata accessories offers pilots extra technology to get the most out of every flight and make the most of their equipment5:
