Paramount+ Unveils Huge Lineup for Comic-Con 2022

Paramount+ will bring a mountain of entertainment to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with a weekend filled with unforgettable panels from fan-favorite series and franchises, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes conversations and reveals.

The mountain of entertainment continues with a “Star Trek”-themed activation and immersive experience, a Beavis and Butt-Head photo opportunity, and a chance to step inside the iconic Paramount Mountain at the official Paramount+ booth. The celebrations kick-off on Thursday, July 21 and go through Sunday, July 24.

“STAR TREK” RETURNS TO SAN DIEGO!

  • “Star Trek” Universe Panel in Hall H. The fan-favorite “Star Trek” universe panel returns to San Diego Comic-Con, featuring exclusive back-to-back conversations with the casts and executive producers from STAR TREK: PICARD, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS and STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS as they discuss the latest seasons of their hit series and tease what’s ahead, along with a few reveals and surprises. Moderated by actress and STAR TREK: PICARD season two director, Lea Thompson (“Back to the Future”).

STAR TREK: PICARD cast members scheduled to appear include Patrick Stewart and Gates McFadden, alongside executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Rod Roddenberry.

  • Paramount+ will be coming to the convention floor with an interactive booth space for fans to experience “a mountain of entertainment.” Fans can scan a QR code located on a mountain sculpt on the outside of the booth to watch their favorite characters come to life from their phone. Once inside the booth, fans will have the opportunity to experience a mountain climb led by some of their favorite characters from “Star Trek,” SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS and HALO. CBS Original GHOSTS Announces Comic-Con Presence

CBS Original GHOSTS, television’s number one new series and the number one comedy on Paramount+, will make its San Diego Comic-Con debut for a panel discussion, a marketing activation and a Web3 Metaverse experience.

The Panel:

The full cast, including “livings” Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, as well as “ghosts” Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocky and Devan Chandler Long, and executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, will take part in a panel discussion from 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, July 21 in Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center. The panel will be moderated by series guest star Matt Walsh and will treat fans with never-before-seen footage.

The Activation:

As part of CBS’s “Summer of GHOSTS” immersive marketing campaign honoring the “recently departed” first season and its upcoming sophomore season this fall, GHOSTS will show up in San Diego with Pinecone Trooper Pete’s “Friend Zone,” an activation with a campsite feel in honor of scout leader ghost Pete, whose unfortunate archery accident left him with an arrow through his neck for eternity. The activation will be set up at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park from July 21-24, and will feature a “scare-free” archery activation – but nothing is what it seems at this campsite setup on ‘the lawn’ of The Woodstone Mansion – the show’s setting and home to the ghosts. Fans can connect with Ghosts and ‘the other side’ through psychic mediums and programming that’ll give attendees insight into their past, present, and future lives.

The Metaverse:

Fans who can’t make it to San Diego can still enjoy the GHOSTS experience in the Metaverse, which, beginning on July 21, will take fans on an immersive journey through the haunted Woodstone Mansion to solve puzzles, undertake quests and earn limited edition, collectible NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). The GHOSTS mansion was meticulously recreated using actual blueprints and features surprising interactions with the show’s main characters.

Season two of the critically acclaimed #1 new comedy/series and breakout hit GHOSTS will premiere Thursday, Sept. 29 in its new time slot at 8:30 PM on CBS. The entire first season is available to stream on demand on Paramount+. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions. Coming this fall from Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., THE DARK PICTURES ANTHOLOGY: THE DEVIL IN ME opens its doors to a whole new cast and terrifying story. This trailer gives a short but disturbing tour of what’s to come for its unsuspecting cast.

The Lonnit Entertainment TV crew receive a pressing and mysterious phone call from a man called Granthem Du’Met, with a promise of a tour around a faithful recreation of the H. H. Holmes murder castle, an idea that Lonnit Entertainment founder Charlie Lonnit believes might just save his show.

Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley stars as a member of this ill-fated crew that visits this strange hotel location, a place that quickly turns into a deadly trap made by their disturbed host Granthem Du’Met. Observed, isolated, and manipulated like rats in a maze, it soon becomes clear that the crew’s checkout is compromised, and they will have to make some impossible choices that they might live to regret or just not live at all!

Celebrating the momentous return to an in-person event after two years, HBO Max and Cartoon Network announced today a jam-packed kids & family lineup of panels for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The four panels will include special guests, signings, interactive fun for all ages, sneak peeks, and first looks at fan-favorite and upcoming series.

On Friday, July 22, check-in with the Looney Tunes Looni-verse for an all-star panel and enjoy sneak peeks of the new series Bugs Bunny Builders, Tiny Toons Looniversity, and a new season of Looney Tunes Cartoons. In a first of its kind experience, players can load up The Oregon Trail on Apple Arcade and transform their daily walks and runs, or wheelchair pushes, into a westward journey across a digital United States. With the all-new The Oregon Trail: StepTracker app for Apple Watch, players can set their own pace, walking, running, or wheeling in a way that best suits their daily routine.

Players will find more than just a simple step tracker: other features include digital representations of real-world locations, statistics and progress data, daily summaries, avatar customization, in-game rewards, and more. Players can walk the full 2,000 miles of the Oregon Trail, with five journey legs, 64 locations, seven forts, 15 river crossings, and eight pony express stations, meaning there is a lot to see and do as they “journey” along the trail. The impressive graphics of The Oregon Trail are also front-and-center, with players able to see the animated environments change as they follow the trail from Independence to Oregon. If players walked 10,000 steps every day, it would take more than a year for players to complete this epic journey.

AMC Unveils Comic-Con 2022 Lineup of Panels and More

AMC Networks announced today its lineup of panels and events at this year’s Comic-Con International, which runs from July 21 to July 24 in San Diego, CA, including the final series panel for the cultural phenomenon The Walking Dead ahead of its must-see last eight episodes this fall; the Comic-Con debut panel for Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, along with panels for Tales of the Walking Dead, the new episodic anthology within The Walking Dead Universe debuting August 14, and Shudder’s new docu-series Queer for Fear, premiering this fall.

In addition to its panels, AMC Networks is returning to the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Hotel this month to transform the Skylight Terrace and Gaslamp ballroom into The Walking Dead Fan Celebration, the ultimate fan destination for The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead Fan Celebration

  • Located at the Hilton Gaslamp Hotel (4th Avenue and L Street, across from the Convention Center), The Walking Dead Fan Celebration is an in-world activation hosted by AMC Networks on Friday, July 22 at 7:30pm PT, reuniting Comic-Con and TWD fans to relive some of the most iconic moments and characters from the past eleven seasons.
  • Fans will be treated to a variety of exclusive experiences, designed specifically for San Diego Comic-Con, including an impressive collection of series set pieces, props and artifacts from all seasons, showcasing the series’ artistry and craft, and offering fans the chance to capture photos and videos amongst their favorite elements from the series. Custom video content will also highlight memorable TWD moments, and include special messages from cast and crew, honoring this ground-breaking television series.
  • AMC will distribute custom-designed TWD enamel pins, representing iconic images from the show’s eleven seasons, plus one bonus design pin commemorating the The Walking Dead Fan Celebration.
  • Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from four custom-designed screen-printed t-shirts honoring the series, available exclusively that evening; transform themselves into the undead after visiting a Walking Dead-inspired walker make-up station; enjoy the Commonwealth’s “Taste of Tradition” ice cream flavors, along with themed beverages and food; and participate in a Commonwealth-inspired lottery for additional giveaways.

AMC Networks Comic-Con Panels

  • Tales of the Walking Dead panel on Friday, July 22 at 12:30 PM PT, Hall H

The panel will introduce fans to this new episodic anthology consisting of six original one-hour standalone episodes focused on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse. The stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations as we get to see the apocalypse through different eyes, discovering more worlds, mythos, and mysteries of the Walking Dead.

Moderated by Chris Hardwick (Talking Dead), the panel will feature Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner and Executive Producer Channing Powell, Director and Executive Producer Michael Satrazemis, and cast members Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead, Harlots), and Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick) with additional cast pending.

  • The Walking Dead Season 11C panel on Friday, July 22 at 1:30 PM PT, Hall H

Chris Hardwick moderates the final panel for the hit series ahead of its last eight episodes this fall. This must-watch panel will feature Gimple, Showrunner and Executive Producer Angela Kang, Executive Producer, Director and Special Effects Makeup Supervisor Greg Nicotero and cast members Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Seth Gilliam, Josh McDermitt, Michael James Shaw, Cailey Fleming and Lauren Ridloff as they answer fan questions, share behind-the-scenes stories about filming the final season, and reveal the highly anticipated trailer for season 11.

Join a discussion for the upcoming Shudder Original four-part documentary series about the history of Queer people in the thriller/horror genre, featuring Executive Producers Bryan Fuller and Steak House, interviewee and filmmaker Kimberly Peirce and interviewee and podcaster Renée “Nay” Bever.

From its literary origins with authors Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and Oscar Wilde to the pansy craze of the 1920s that inspired Universal Monsters and Hitchcock, through the “lavender scare” alien invasion films of the mid-20th century, and the AIDS-obsessed bloodletting of 80s vampire films, Queer for Fear explores the role the LGBTQ+ community played in front of and behind the camera. Through this rainbow lens, we will re-examine genre stories not as violent, murderous narratives but as tales of survival that resonate thematically with queer audiences everywhere.

  • Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire panel on Saturday, July 23 at 2PM PT, Ballroom 20

The highly anticipated first series in AMC Networks’ Anne Rice collection  makes its Comic-Con panel debut with Executive Producer Mark Johnson, Creator, Writer and Showrunner Rolin Jones, cast members Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Bailey Bass and Eric Bogosian and Production Designer Mara LePere Schloop discussing this new iteration of Anne Rice’s revolutionary and bestselling novel, stepping into the role of these iconic characters, bringing the world of early 1900s New Orleans to life and debuting a first official series trailer.

Interview’s first season consists of 7 episodes and is an emotionally charged, character-driven series that follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid) and Claudia (Bass)’s epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality.
