Caffeine TV Social Broadcasting Platform Announced

Palo Alto, CA (Jan 31, 2018) — Today, Caffeine announced the unveiling of its new social broadcasting platform and tools for games, entertainment, and other artistic content. Caffeine is a completely reimagined broadcasting platform. It is social, real-time, more personal and requires no third-party software or plug-ins. This makes it simpler, safer, and the best experience for live broadcasting. The Caffeine broadcasting platform and tools are currently in “pre-release” and are available at caffeine.tv on the web and via the Caffeine.tv iOS app.

Backed by a total of $46M raised in two rounds of funding led by Andreessen Horowitz and Greylock Partners, Caffeine was co-founded by two former Apple executives, Ben Keighran (Product Design Lead for Apple TV) and Sam Roberts (Senior User Experience Designer). Simple to Use

Straightforward to use, Caffeine makes broadcasting 1-click easy and requires no additional software. Caffeine has been designed with simplicity, safety, and quality at its core and offers three ways to broadcast: PC game broadcast software, webcam from a Mac or PC browser, and the Caffeine iOS app. There is no need to configure bitrates, stream keys, IP addresses, or other time-consuming details.

Live-Action Series Metropolis Announced for Upcoming DC Digital Service

BURBANK, Calif. (January 30, 2018) — Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment today announced that Gotham executive producers John Stephens and Danny Cannon will explore the world of Metropolis in an all-new live-action drama series to air exclusively on the upcoming DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital service, operated by Warner Bros. Digital Networks. Metropolis has received a direct-to-series order for a first season of 13 episodes and will go into production later this year for a debut on the service in 2019.

Set in the wondrous and awe-inspiring City of Tomorrow before the arrival of Superman, Metropolis follows Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets.

John Stephens (Gotham, Gossip Girl, The O.C., Gilmore Girls) and Danny Cannon (Gotham, Nikita, CSI series) are the executive producers of Metropolis. Danny Cannon will direct the first episode, from a teleplay by John Stephens, with story by Cannon and Stephens. Based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, published by DC, Metropolis is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

The order for Metropolis marks the fourth announced series for the new DC digital service, which will deliver an immersive experience designed just for DC fans. Additional programs include Warner Bros. Television’s live-action drama Titans, as well as Warner Bros. Animation’s Harley Quinn and Young Justice: Outsiders.

The Battle for Azeroth Begins this Summer

Disney XD, NFL, and ESPN to Air EA SPORTS Madden NFL 18 Championship Series

REDWOOD CITY, CA and NEW YORK, NY – January 26th, 2018 – Today, Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and the National Football League (NFL) announced they are teaming up with ESPN and Disney XD for exclusive broadcasts of the upcoming EA SPORTS Madden NFL 18 Championship Series. This starts with the final rounds of the EA SPORTS Madden NFL 18 Club Championship and the brand-new EA SPORTS Madden NFL Ultimate League, marking ESPN’s first-ever long-term, multi-event competitive gaming agreement.

The Madden NFL Ultimate League is the first ever competitive gaming sports league of its kind featuring one-on-one competition between 16 of the best Madden NFL 18 players and will run from Friday, February 2nd for two and a half months of thrilling esports entertainment, culminating at the NFL Draft on April 28th. Six players qualified by finishing in the top two at one of the three EA Majors: the Madden NFL 18 Classic, Madden NFL 18 Challenge and Madden NFL 18 Club Championship, with the remaining 10 selected as top series points earners.
