Team17 Digital and Covenant.dev have today announced that dark fantasy strategy game Gord will emerge from the shadows and launch 8th August on Steam, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. Adventurers and strategy enthusiasts alike can pre-order their copy now for all platforms. Physical edition pre-orders for consoles and digital pre-orders on Steam will receive the additional ‘Hold Your Ground’ scenario for the game’s Custom Scenarios mode, a digital soundtrack, and a digital art book; digital pre-orders for consoles will receive the ‘Hold Your Ground’ scenario only.

Created by a team that includes former Frostpunk and The Witcher 3 developers, Gord is a single-player dark fantasy strategy game where, to survive, you must build, but to prevail, you must conquer the darkness beyond the gates. Those who can’t wait until launch to test their mettle in Gord’s ruthless world of horrific beasts and rich lore inspired by Slavic folktales, can sink their teeth into an English language-only demo from next week, 19-26th June, during Steam Next Fest. After a catastrophic shipwreck, players awaken, marooned on a fog-shrouded and mysterious island. Its shores and jungles teeming with both prehistoric life and a shadowy private army intent on keeping the island’s secrets to themselves. A battle is about to erupt in this forgotten world, and only the fittest will survive. Inspired by classic pulp adventure stories like King Kong and modern tactical shooters such as Crysis, FEROCIOUS plunges players into intense jungle combat. Stalked by deadly predators and well-equipped soldiers alike, it’ll take cool nerves, a steady aim and an arsenal of customizable weapons to come out on top. Mastery of the jungle also reveals new tactical options, including stealth, evasion and even working alongside the native animals. Not everything here wants to take a chunk out of your hide.

Developed using Unity, FEROCIOUS is a testament to what a small independent team can achieve. A rich, detailed environment, textured with a mixture of hand-crafted and photo-sourced assets. The island’s shores are hammered by simulated waves, and the forests are dense with destructible foliage and physics-driven trees just waiting to be split by a hail of gunfire.

While many of the creatures living on the island are lifted straight from paleontology books, not everything here is immediately familiar. Dead Island 2 DLC Roadmap Announced

Publisher Deep Silver and developer Dambuster Studios today announce the first wave of DLC for Dead Island 2, with a number of free and paid for additions to the game’s zombie-infested world, along with a quality of life patch that improves an already bloody brilliant game.

Giving a hint of what’s to come gameplay-wise, two expansions will feature brand new missions, weapons and skills, and areas to explore, with its first titled Haus. How does a billionaire prepare for the zompocalypse? With a techno-death cult and a healthy splash of debauchery and gore. Haus is slated for a Q4 2023 release.

The second expansion will welcome players to the “SOLA” festival, where LA’s party people can greenwash their way to ecstasy and save the planet in true LA fashion, one rave at a time. SOLA Festival will launch in Q2 2024. Haus and SOLA Festival are included in Dead Island 2’s Expansion Pass and will also be available to purchase separately.

Starting with today’s update, players will be able to access the new Cosplay feature. This feature is unlocked during the “Call The Cavalry” quest, after which players can select cosplay via the main menu or by visiting any storage locker in the game. Cosplay houses a brand-new collection of character skins to customize slayers:

Premium Character Packs: These include a unique skin for the slayer named in the pack and a weapon that can be used by any of the slayers, from the HELL-A Catwalk Collection. There is a total of six character packs, all available to purchase from digital stores today:

Character Packs 1 (Silver Star Jacob) and Pack 2 (Cyber Slayer Amy) are included for owners of the Deluxe, Gold, and HELL-A Editions of Dead Island 2.
Four further character packs – Gaelic Queen Dani (included for owners of the Expansion Pass), Jungle Fantasy Ryan, Steel Horse Carla, and Venice Vogue Bruno – are also available to further enhance your Slayer’s stylish look.

“Til Dawn” Collection: Features a brand-new skin for each of the six slayers, free for all players. These will automatically appear in the cosplay section after the latest update has been downloaded and players have reached the unlock point for Cosplay.

Additionally, players will be able to get “From Dusk” Collection skins through Prime Gaming Rewards (for Amazon Prime members) throughout 2023. From Dusk Dani is first and available from June 15to July 17. This collection includes the Legless FOMOrian skin which can be selected when playing as Dani, and the FOMOrian Claws, which can be used with any of the six slayers. High On Life Gets High On Knife DLC

Squanch Games is thrilled to announce the first DLC for its breakout hit High On Life with a new teaser trailer. High On Knife gives Knifey his chance to shine (and stab) on a fully realized new planetary environment loaded with all-new characters, hazards, and spooky surprises. Players will have a chance to check out the mayhem when High On Knife is released later this fall.

“We’ve been humbled and grateful for the fan reaction to High On Life, and we’re excited to continue working within this crazy universe,” says Mike Fridley, Squanch’s Studio Director. “We’re looking forward to incorporating more of a horror-comedy vibe in High On Knife, and we can’t wait to hear what fans think of it when it’s released later this fall.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Board Game is the newest game from Awaken Realms, creators of many critically acclaimed games such as This War of Mine: TBG, Tainted Grail, and Nemesis. One of the most anticipated games of this year is launching today at 5 PM CEST with their crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound.

The game is created in a collaboration with Ukrainian developers from GSC Game World, a studio working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and sci-fi writers Marcin Mortka and Michał Gołkowski – authors of multiple S.T.A.L.K.E.R. books on GSC license.

Moreover, Polish board game producers and Ukrainian developers are working on other projects for all the fans of the Zone and Stalker universe. A big box of collectibles with masterpiece craftsmanship and a bunch of Stalker inspired goodies packed into the themed metal chest. “This is a set that every Stalker fan should definitely look forward to! Inside the box you will find awesome pieces of the finest craft from Awaken Realms” – the producer says.

Ashborne Games & THQ Nordic announce its debut, Last Train Home – an epic survival strategy game about Czechoslovak legionaires inspired by real events after World War I.

The Great War is over – the fight continues. Command a legion of soldiers desperately trying to make their way home amidst the chaos of civil war. Lead them through the unforgiving wilderness onboard an armored train. Manage your crew and resources and try to survive.

The game was first shown to the world at the PC Gaming Show on June 11. It is now possible to add it to the wishlist on Steam, where it will be released in 2023. The title is being created by a 50-member team cooperating with the Czechoslovak Legionary Community providing historical consultations and support.
