The refresher video is narrated by Red XIII, a beast with a flaming tail who offers words of wisdom to Cloud’s party from time to time. Red XIII recaps the events of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, the first installment in the critically acclaimed FINAL FANTASY VII remake project.

Today brings exciting news for fans of physical media! Celebrating a record seven awards at last week’s Golden Joysticks, along with eight nominations at The Game Awards later this year, Larian Studios is delighted to announce the physical Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, coming in Q1 2024 for $79.99.
On both PS5 and Xbox, the game will be playable on disc, with the PS5 version sporting two discs, and Xbox a whopping three discs to house the chonky epic. On PC, a DVD hosts a custom installer and arrives with a Steam key.
“This experiment is what we feel the future of physical media looks like, at least for us at Larian,” said Michael Douse, Director of Publishing at Larian. “We spent the last few months learning how to do it from scratch and put everything we learned from the Collector’s Edition into what we hope is unbeatable value for what we’re considering our standard physical version going forward. If it works out, we’ll keep doing it this way. We understand the value of physical media, and while there are clearly increasingly significant challenges when it comes to the archiving of games, we truly believe it’s worth experimenting, even if it means a fuck-ton of discs.”
Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition will be sold exclusively by and restocked on Larian’s dedicated store. It is not a Collector’s Edition, so players needn’t panic if they lose out on the initial batch.
While each version of the Deluxe Edition is scheduled to ship in Q1 of 2024, Larian notes that the release date for the long-awaited Xbox digital version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be revealed at The Game Awards on December 7.

The Victoria series is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a major update and a very colorful region pack for the latest game in Paradox’s celebrated strategy and simulation of the exciting century around the Victorian Age. Today sees the launch of Colossus of the South, an add-on full of new flavor for South America, especially the dramatic course of Brazilian politics in the era.
This release is paired with the official launch of the 1.5 update to Victoria 3, a major update to many game systems including a rework of the military system, adding Companies to national economies, new Laws and new diplomatic relations.
“Even though it was something of a cult hit, Victoria has always had a special place in the heart of our community and it presents unique challenges and opportunities for a designer,” says Martin Anward, game director for Victoria 3. “I am not sure anyone expected the series to still be a going concern 20 years on, but here we are, one year after the launch of Victoria 3, full of exciting ideas for the future.”
Publisher Kalypso Media and development studio The Dust S.A. have announced their upcoming dark fantasy adventure game, The Inquisitor, will be released on February 8, 2024, on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. For those eager to plunge into the darkness, a behind the scenes video has been released from inside the recording studio where voice actor Jamie Maclachlan recorded the voice of the protagonist for the game, Mordimer Madderdin.
This first developer diary will focus on Maclachlan’s enigmatic performance as Mordimer Madderdin, the titular inquisitor of the game. Delving into his interpretation of the character and giving special insights into how he performed the role. Two additional developer diaries will be released leading up to launch, further exploring the team behind The Inquisitor and the world (and Unworld) of the game’s story.
The Inquisitor is a dark fantasy adventure game set in an alternate-history version of the 1500s, in which Jesus did not die for our sins, but instead broke free from the cross and sought vengeance on the non-believers. Players will take on the role of Mordimer Madderdin, an Inquisitor in the service to the Church of Christ Vengeful. The Inquisitor is at its core a story-driven fantasy adventure game with a focus on detective elements, blending action and puzzle mechanics into the mix.
The Inquisitor will be released on February 8, 2024, on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
