Insta360 Unveils Insta360 X4 Air Ultralight 8K 360 Camera

Insta360 is excited to announce Insta360 X4 Air, the newest addition to its acclaimed X Series. Compactultralight (165g), and packed with flagship-level features, including Emmy® Award-winning 360 technology, X4 Air brings 8K 360 video and AI-powered simplicity to creators who want to capture life as it truly happens: spontaneous and authentic.

A New Chapter

For over five generations, Insta360’s X Series has set the benchmark for 360 imaging, combining intuitive design, refined image quality, and powerful software that make immersive storytelling accessible to anyone. X4 Air carries that legacy forward, redefining portability and creative freedom.

Weighing just 165 grams, X4 Air is Insta360’s lightest-ever 8K 360 camera. It is built for the street, the trail, and everyday use, an ideal entry point for anyone looking to explore 360 storytelling for the first time. Dual 1/1.8-inch sensors and advanced image processing capture rich 8K detail and natural colors, while a sleek, travel-friendly body slips easily into a pocket or backpack.

“X4 Air is about capturing life as it happens,” said Max Richer, VP of Marketing and Co-Founder at Insta360. “It lets creators stay present while capturing everything around them. It’s for anyone who wants to film real life without the weight or complexity—a lighter, simpler way to tell stories.”

Sharper, Smarter, Smoother: Everyday Improvements That Matter

X4 Air takes everything creators loved about X4 and makes it lighter, smarter, and more intuitive. The upgrades focus on real-world performance rather than numbers, improving image quality and ease of use in every scenario.

Larger 1/1.8-inch sensors deliver crisper 8K footage with a 134% increase in pixel area per frame vs. X4, capturing better detail and more vivid color straight out of the camera. One of the biggest leaps comes from AdaptiveTone, Insta360’s intelligent exposure algorithm. AdaptiveTone analyzes light from both lenses independently to balance brightness and color across the full 360 image, protecting skies and shadow detail without heavy color grading.

Working in tandem is Active HDR. Now available up to 8K30fps, it boosts dynamic range in real time for lifelike highlights and shadows, even in challenging lighting. Portrait Mode complements this by automatically detecting faces and adjusting brightness and color to deliver smooth, natural skin tones without heavy editing. And when the light fades, enhanced algorithms and noise reduction keep night shots clean and detailed, producing vivid, usable footage long after the sun sets.

Durability gets an upgrade, too. X4 Air features user-replaceable lenses with an ultra-hard optical coating that doubles drop resistance compared to X4. Lenses swap in seconds if scratched, while optional lens guards add protection without glare. Waterproof to 49 feet (15 meters) and equipped with Insta360’s leading FlowState Stabilization and 360° Horizon Lock, X4 Air is ready for any adventure.

Portability Meets Performance

X4 Air blurs the line between everyday tool and professional camera. While X5 remains the flagship for creators who demand the highest image quality, X4 Air brings many of its best features to a compact, travel-ready design. Both sport 8K30fps 360 video, replaceable lenses, and a built-in wind guard, but X4 Air does it in a 165-gram body designed for movement and ease.

Where X5 is engineered for precisionX4 Air is made for freedom. It’s lighter, easier to handle, and compatible with most X5 accessories. For creators who want pro results without the bulk, X4 Air offers the ideal balance of performance and portability.

Your All-in-One Creative Companion

Real life doesn’t pause for perfect framing, and neither does X4 Air. Its dual fisheye lenses capture every angle, so you can stay in the moment while the camera records it all. Later, you can easily reframe footage in the Insta360 app to uncover new perspectives and share moments you didn’t even know you caught.

Designed to replace an entire kit, X4 Air lets you film sweeping 360 viewsimmersive 4K60fps POVs, smooth walk-and-talk vlogs, and dynamic drone-like shots with the Invisible Selfie Stick—without the bulk or setup. For added flexibility, InstaFrame Mode records both a shareable flat video and a full 360 version simultaneously, so you can post immediately and still have complete freedom to re-edit later.

Smarter Control, Simpler Shooting

X4 Air is built to keep creators in the moment, with intelligent tools that make capturing easier than ever. Twist to Shoot lets you start or stop recording with a twist of the selfie stick, no need to fumble for buttons or screens. Gesture Control recognizes quick hand signals for taking photos or videos—ideal for group shots or when the camera’s mounted out of reach. And with Voice Control, you can command the camera hands-free so you never have to break focus or stop the action.

Whether you’re skiing, cycling, or simply recording with friends, X4 Air makes shooting effortless, giving you full creative control even when your hands are busy.

Effortless Editing, Instant Sharing

360 footage once meant hours of complex editing. With X4 Air, it takes minutes—or less. The Insta360 app turns raw 360 footage into dynamic, polished clips using AI-powered tools like Auto EditFlashCut, and AI Frame, which automatically identify highlights, apply transitions, and sync footage to music. Preset Perspectives let creators export perfectly framed videos in seconds, no manual reframing required.

X4 Air also integrates seamlessly with brands like AppleGarmin, and HUAWEI, syncing location, movement, and performance data directly into your videos. Whether tracking your morning ride or a city run, your stats stay in sync across devices, making it easier than ever to tell the full story.

With Insta360+, the integrated cloud service, creators can back up footage automatically, edit from any device, and share their favorite moments instantly via a customizable link. Interactive 360 playback lets friends, family, and followers explore scenes as if they were there with you. Footage stays safe and ready to share, whether from your phone, tablet, or desktop. For a limited time, every X4 Air purchase includes a free one-year Insta360+ subscription with 200GB of storage.

For Every Creator, Everywhere

X4 Air is built for creators who want to capture more and carry less: travelers, vloggers, parents, athletes, and anyone who sees the world as a story waiting to be told. It balances simplicity for first-time users with the features and performance creators demand.

Insta360 X4 Air will be available starting October 28 in Graphite Black and Arctic White from store.insta360.com, Amazon, and select retailers, with US and Canada availability coming soon. The Standard Bundle retails for US$399.99, while the Starter Bundle, including a 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick, Lens Cap, and extra Battery, is priced at US$439.99. Both include a complimentary one-year Insta360+ subscription for a limited time.

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Contraband Expansion Announced

astragon Entertainment and Aesir Interactive are excited to announce the Contraband Expansion for Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, releasing on November 19, 2025 for PC, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

The Contraband Expansion introduces a major map expansion into the State of Franklin, where officers assist at two inspection stations connected to the highway. Players will take on new duties involving new types of inspection, document verification, and cargo checks.

Watch the Teaser Trailer for a first glimpse into the new expansion:

Inspect, Analyze, and Protect

With the opening of Franklin’s inspection stations, the Brighton Police Department takes on additional responsibilities. Officers check passports, driver’s licenses, and cargo manifests, looking for errors or forged details. When suspicion arises, vehicles can be redirected for detailed searches of trunks, interiors, and engines to uncover contraband or safety violations.

Work doesn’t stop outdoors: inside the administrative building, officers handle desk inspections and question individuals to verify travel and cargo details.

Advanced Tools and Equipment

With the Contraband Expansion, Officers gain access to advanced inspection technology including the biometric kiosk, inspection mirror, X-ray scanner, and substance analyzer. The Titan Police SUV joins their fleet, ready for patrols and pursuits.

Observation towers and binoculars help monitor the area, while new watchtower duties allow officers to oversee the border zone, report incidents, maintain perimeter safety and repair the fence if necessary.

Dynamic Scenarios and Cooperative Gameplay

Every check holds the risk of escalation when suspects try to flee, resist, or start a pursuit. These moments can become even more intense when combined with the Highway Patrol Expansion, resulting in high-speed chases on the highway. Officers can also use the new non-lethal shotgun to safely detain resisting suspects when necessary.

All new features can be experienced solo or in multiplayer, with full DLC sharing support, ensuring every partner can participate in the new duties regardless of ownership.

Key Features

More Than Just RGB: A Brutally Honest Razer Nommo V2 Review

We’ve all been on that endless quest, haven’t we: The search for the perfect desk audio. You build a monster rig with a GPU that costs more than a used car and a monitor that could probably see into the future, but your sound is still an afterthought. You’re using a headset that’s seen better days or, and I shudder to even type this, the speakers built into your monitor. You don’t just want to see your games; you want to *feel* them.

This is the exact feeling the Razer Nommo V2 speakers try to capture. They look like they mean business, promising floor-shaking bass and audio so precise you can hear an enemy reload from across the map. For a while, though, they had a bit of a reputation. The sound was big, but the experience was sometimes held back by shaky software. But things change. Razer has been busy, and after spending some quality time with the updated system, I can tell you this: it’s time to give them a second listen.

That Fresh-Out-the-Box Feeling

Unboxing the Nommo V2 gives you that signature Razer experience. It’s all sleek, matte-black hardware that looks incredible… until you touch it and it becomes a shrine to your fingerprints. The two satellite speakers are these solid, cylindrical units on wide stands, angled perfectly to fire sound right at your ears. They do have a bit of a footprint, so if your desk space is at a premium, you might need to play some Tetris to get them to fit.

Now, here’s a design choice that shows you what Razer was thinking: connectivity is clean and simple. You get a USB-C port for your PC and Bluetooth 5.3 for everything else. That’s it. No tangled mess of old-school analog cables. It’s a modern, streamlined approach, though it does mean you can’t hook them up to some older gear without an adapter.

Let the Games Begin

Alright, let’s get to why we’re really here. In-game, the Nommo V2 speakers are nothing short of spectacular. This isn’t just about hearing the game; it’s about being in it. I booted up Diablo IV, and the first crack of lightning from my sorcerer was so visceral I almost checked the weather outside. The down-firing subwoofer is the star of the show here, using your floor to spread out those low frequencies and create a physical rumble you can actually feel. Explosions in Warzone 2 don’t just make a sound; they shake your feet. It’s just plain fun.

But it’s not all brute force. The real magic is the THX Spatial Audio. This is some seriously clever software that creates a virtual 7.1 surround sound experience from just two speakers. And you know what? It’s shockingly effective. In a tense match of Counter-Strike 2, I could clearly pinpoint the direction of enemy footsteps, giving me a real competitive edge. It creates a wide, believable soundstage that makes every game world feel more alive. For gaming, these speakers are an absolute triumph, delivering that powerful, cinematic punch we’re all chasing.

How Does It Handle the Real World?

So, the games sound incredible. But what happens when you close Steam and open Spotify? This is where the Nommo V2’s personality really comes through.

That same massive bass that makes explosions feel epic can be a little… enthusiastic for music. It’s powerful, no doubt, but it’s not the most detailed. Some have called it “muddy,” and I can see why. It tends to focus more on the *feeling* of bass rather than the subtle notes of a bassline in a song.

The good news? The vocals and high notes come through with fantastic clarity, so it’s not a lost cause. Here’s the thing: you just have to be willing to pop into the software and tweak the EQ. Out of the box, it’s tuned for a blockbuster movie, not a delicate acoustic set. With a few adjustments, you can dial in a sound that’s really pleasant for music. It might not be the flat, neutral response an audiophile craves, but for many, the sound is just “different,” not worse.

The Software’s Redemption Arc

Now, I know what you might be thinking. “But what about the software?” Let’s be honest, Razer’s Synapse software used to be the elephant in the room. It was powerful, but had a reputation for being more than a little frustrating.

Well, that elephant has learned some new tricks. Razer has clearly been listening. With the rollout of the new Synapse 4 and a series of firmware updates for the speakers themselves, the experience is night and day. Razer claims the new software architecture is up to 30% faster, and honestly, it feels like it. It’s snappier, more stable, and far more reliable than its predecessor. The connection is solid, the features work as they should, and the whole system just feels more mature. You still need it to access all the best features, like that glorious THX Spatial Audio and the custom EQs, but it no longer feels like a necessary evil. It just feels… necessary. And it works.

The Final Verdict: Is It Time to Buy?

Here’s the thing: if you’re already all-in on the Razer ecosystem, this is pretty much a no-brainer. The rear-projection Chroma RGB is genuinely gorgeous, casting a beautiful ambient glow that syncs flawlessly with your other gear. It’s the kind of finishing touch that completes a true “battlestation”. And if you’re the type of player who lives for those big, cinematic, action-packed experiences and wants audio with a real physical kick, these speakers deliver that in a huge way.

On the other hand, you might want to look elsewhere if you’re a bit of a music purist. That bass-forward sound signature is a very specific flavor, and if you want a perfectly neutral, flat response for critical listening, you might be happier with something from a more audio-focused brand like Edifier. It’s also a tougher sell if you’re a dedicated console gamer. Sure, they work with a PlayStation 5, but the all-important THX Spatial Audio feature is PC-only, and you’d really be missing out on the system’s best feature.

The Razer Nommo V2 has always been a phenomenal gaming speaker system. Its biggest weakness was the software that powered it. Now that Razer has put in the work to fix that, the Nommo V2 is finally the complete package it was always meant to be. It’s a fantastic choice for any gamer looking to bring some serious thunder to their desk.
