The Thaumaturge Now Launches on March 4th

An important note from Fool’s Theory and 11 bit studios: We’re happy to share that the game is now complete, and numerous reviewers already have it in their hands. At the same time, taking February’s busy launch period into account and the opening for a better release window, we’ve decided to take this opportunity to give The Thaumaturge more breathing room so it receives the attention we believe it deserves.

We want you to have enough time to enjoy the game in full, and we feel that the current release window is not the perfect moment for it. With that in mind, we are moving the launch date to March 4th, 2024.

The additional time we’re getting will be used to polish the game further so that your journey through the streets of 1905 Warsaw is even more enjoyable.
We truly can’t wait for you to play it, and thank you for your patience!

The Thaumaturge will be released on PC on March 4, 2024, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions at a later date.

The Oregon Trail Now Available on PlayStation

Gameloft, a leader in the development and publishing of games, and HarperCollins Productions, an award-winning media production company within HarperCollins Publishers, are thrilled to announce that The Oregon Trail™, the multiple award-winning official successor to the global phenomenon, is now available to play on PlayStation®4 (PS4®) and PlayStation®5 (PS5®) for $19.99 for PlayStation®Plus subscribers until February 25, and $29.99 for non-subscribers and once the special sale period has ended.

In The Oregon Trail, players are put at the center of all the trials and tribulations of the journey westward. They must stock their wagon, choose their traveling party, and make sure they all arrive safely to Oregon by making tough choices in dangerous and unexpected situations. Players will also learn the real history behind the trail, including Native American stories, which is a first in the franchise.

The release of The Oregon Trail on PS4® and PS5® is a faithful adaptation of the Apple Arcade version and has been created with the support of Gameloft Lviv. The PS4® and PS5® versions include all five previous Apple Arcade content updates, events, visual filters, and accessibility options such as an updated high contrast mode that increases the visibility of certain elements to better assist players with low vision. The PS5® version specifically offers DualSense® controller support to make use of its adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and its internal speaker, runs at 4K at 60FPS, and supports PlayStation Activities and Trophies.

Prospective pioneers that want to keep adventuring beyond the base The Oregon Trail experience can purchase its “Cowboys and Critters” DLC for $5. The DLC includes thirteen new stories that explore some of the more fearsome critters and animals on the trail and additional stories that focus on the Horse Creek Treaty, the Chisholm Trail Journey, and a select Native American story about the legend of “The People Eaters,” a cannibalistic, fearsome red-headed tribe who fought against the Numa people.

“Today’s launch on PlayStation gives our team a great sense of pride as we set out to make The Oregon Trail available to all gamers across all platforms,” said Stanislav Shchebyvovk, Game Manager. “While this journey to support PlayStation owners was nowhere near as arduous as the actual Oregon Trail, we are thrilled to have reached our destination and hope PS4 and PS5 players enjoy their experience!”

“We are thrilled to launch the classic game “The Oregon Trail” on PlayStation for the very first time. This marks a new milestone for the game as we bring a perennial favorite to a broader game audience, said Caroline Fraser, Head of HarperCollins Productions. “We believe the game’s winning combination of education and entertainment will continue to be a formula for success, and look forward to having more players join us on the trail!”

Dungeons & Dragons 50th Anniversary Celebration

Out of a small cobbler’s home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in 1974, generations of dreamers and adventure-seekers were inspired with the publication of the first version of Dungeons & Dragons. The tiny black text and line drawings printed on those first pamphlets have grown into beautifully illustrated tomes, meticulously crafted physical artifacts, and comprehensive digitals tools all designed to enhance the core of D&D: Getting together to tell fantastic stories with friends and family. Now stewards of that legacy of imaginative play, Wizards of the Coast is poised to celebrate five decades of fantasy roleplaying in 2024 by engaging with fans at events around the world and offering games, entertainment, and products informed by the history of D&D to inspire generations to come.

Raise a twenty-sided die and Play Your Way!

“D&D has a rich history, an exciting present, and a great future,” said Kyle Brink, Executive Producer of the team making D&D at Wizards of the Coast. “This year we’ll be celebrating all three with the 50th Anniversary of the first publication of Dungeons & Dragons. We’ll take you through the making of the game, bring some of the classic adventures to today’s play, visit the most iconic settings in the D&D multiverse, and kick off the future of the game with the new 2024 core rulebooks that are the heart of the game. We’ve been building up to this for a while now. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

The year-long celebration kicks off in March 2024, when fans all over the world will be able to play the same adventure together inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons creators’ love of tournament-style play. Fans can experience an excerpt from an upcoming release, “Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth,” in game stores, at community centers, libraries, conventions like Gary Con and PAX East, on kitchen tables and painted scenery, in video chat rooms, and on D&D Beyond. Dungeon Masters will be available wherever fans want to play.

The D&D team has an exciting lineup of licensed consumer products with best-in-class partners, giving fans plenty of opportunity to show off their love of the game. There will be footwear and apparel from Converse, an official LEGO(tm) IDEAS building set complete with minifigures, and delicious treats suitable for snacking around the gaming table from Pop-Tarts.

But that’s just the start. 2024 will celebrate D&D with new ways to improve immersion with a 3D virtual tabletop and remove barriers to play through new features on D&D Beyond. D&D will be traveling to more shows and conventions in 2024 to celebrate along with fans.

TWISTERS Official Trailer

This summer, the epic studio disaster movie returns with an adrenaline-pumping, seat-gripping, big-screen thrill ride that puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous—and destructive—forces.

From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters, a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

Twisters features an exciting new cast, including Nope’s Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).

From Amblin Entertainment, Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung and is produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall (Jurassic and Indiana Jones franchises) and by Patrick Crowley (Jurassic and Bourne franchises). The most notable addition is the Sanxian Islands: a brand-new map set across a string of volcanic islands in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Sanxian Islands are of critical importance in the Pacific theater of war, as their position off the continental coast and industrial capabilities make them a prime region for military activity. Their hilly terrain is criss-crossed with rice paddies and sugar cane fields that feed into dense jungle and bamboo forests, while small fishing communities are spread out across the beaches. Watch the launch trailer below!

The Sanxian Isles provide a brand-new biome in wage to wage war—with lush jungles and sandy beaches—but also region-specific buildings and man-made environments. This map is primed for infantry warfare, with dense forests, crowded industrial zones, and small villages perfect for close-quarters combat. Amphibious vehicles and helicopters can easily transport troops from zone to zone, but infantry on the ground can also make their stand, sneaking through the jungles and shallow waters that connect the island chain together.

Notable landmarks and features of the new map include the power plant, canal town, and naval base. As well, the Sanxian Islands feature the following map layers:

AAS v1 – USA vs PLA
AAS v2 – USMC vs PLA

National Geographic Renews Disney+ Original Series Limitless With Chris Hemsworth

National Geographic announced today the second season pick-up of LIMITLESS WITH CHRIS HEMSWORTH, following the global superstar as he unearths the transformative secrets of improving our lives and unlocking our greatest potential. The second installment comes hot on the heels of a hugely successful first season that inspired millions to explore how to live better longer.

In season one, Hemsworth pushed the limits of his body and mind to discover how fasting can unlock the body’s anti-aging power, how to manage stress so it doesn’t kill you, and how exposure to extreme temperatures can trigger our bodies’ own defenses against the killer diseases of old age, all in a quest to live a longer, healthier life. Now, in this next installment, he’s taking on four more epic challenges on a global journey through Nepal, Italy, Australia, and the United Kingdom to help him — and us — understand how to live not just longer, but better. LIMITLESS creators Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel of Protozoa Pictures return to executive produce season two; Jane Root and Tom Watt-Smith are executive producers for Nutopia; and Chris Hemsworth and Ben Grayson are executive producers for Wild State.

“Working on LIMITLESS was an eye-opening experience that allowed me to reflect on my strengths, vulnerabilities and all the ways in which we as humans can plan toward longevity,” said Hemsworth. “For this next season, we are attempting to raise the bar and go even deeper in this exploration alongside health and wellness experts from around the globe.”

In season two of LIMITLESS, Hemsworth will delve into a series of physical and mental obstacles that people across the world face daily: mental agility, pain, burnout, and interpersonal connection. Amazing science and intense challenges are the inspiration for experiences that will push Chris to explore and grow as he’s never done before. To do that, Chris will need to travel to the ends of the Earth to uncover the latest scientific thinking and unlock some of the world’s best-kept secrets to living a better life.

Through Hemsworth’s travels, guided by a number of experts, mentors and spiritual leaders, audiences can seek the everyday changes, both big and small, that can allow us to see improved versions of ourselves.

“Millions of viewers around the world were inspired and wowed by the combination of science, endeavor and the incredibly committed Chris Hemsworth in the first season, so it’s with huge pride that we announce its return,” said Tom McDonald, executive vice president, Global Factual and Unscripted Content, National Geographic. “This new season will have the scale, the drama and the challenges you’d expect from LIMITLESS, but we’ve also got some big and exciting surprises in store for the audience and for Chris himself.”

For the second season of LIMITLESS WITH CHRIS HEMSWORTH, Arif Nurmohamed serves as co-executive producer, and Tom Watt-Smith and Jane Root serve as executive producers for Nutopia. Ari Handel and Darren Aronofsky serve as executive producers for Protozoa, and Chris Hemsworth, Ben Grayson and Brandon Hill are executive producers for Wild State.
