We have long-known of Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines and the ill-fated Aliens RPG from Obsidian. Now, CVG reports that SEGA has hired their long-time strategy stallion, The Creative Assembly, to create a new title based on the horror IP which Creative Director Mike Simpson says will be a “peer to Dead Space”. The Creative Assembly, known for their Total War series, is ramping up production on the title by adding on roughly forty additional employees.
No word yet on a release date, but we expect more Aliens-related news when we visit SEGA’s booth at E3 in a few weeks. Perhaps we can get a look at Colonial Marines?!?

EA Sports has announced that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS version of FIFA Soccer 12 will get an optional touch-screen control system. The control system is said to allow players to perform precision shooting and even finessing a shot by drawing curves to skew the ball’s trajectory. FIFA Soccer 12 will also feature eight different gameplay modes, so soccer fans should have a lot to sink their teeth into.
“We challenged our development team to develop innovative features that would maximize the FIFA experience on 3DS. They delivered intuitive new touch screen controls and a curved pitch in our Street mode that truly brings the 3D elements to life,” said Matt Prior, Producer for FIFA Soccer 12 on Nintendo 3DS. “When you combine these features and many other innovations with all the authentic players and kits for the upcoming season, we are confident that this will be the best soccer game available on Nintendo 3DS.”
FIFA Soccer 12 is due out on the Nitendo 3DS this Fall.
Deep Silver has sent us over one heck of a care package – an island getaway! Of course, this island is most-probably infested with hordes of flesh-eating zombies, but still – how thoughtful. This is, of course, for their upcoming zombie epic, Dead Island, which is due out later this year. We will be booking our appointments at E3 for this island excursion, and will get you a full preview as soon as possible. Stay-tuned for our continued coverage of the 2011 E3 Expo, which runs from June 7th through 9th.
