As today is the unofficial National Star Wars Day, I thought it fitting to send a bit of Star Wars humor to you fine readers. While a bit long in the tooth for a YouTube vid, this one still doesn’t ever NOT make me laugh.

Followers of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Facebook page were treated to a surprise today by way of an announcement of the game’s official release date! Gamers can look forward to playing the role of Starkiller once more on October 26th, 2010. The game is being developed for multiple platforms in some form or another and will continue the story set forth in the original game. LucasArts will also be showing the title at E3 next month.
Remember that faux-unboxing video 2K Games release a while back which showcased an amazing-looking Big Daddy costume? Well you can win that (and $5,000) if you are the lucky duck in a new contest. Namco Bandai has announced that Dead to Rights: Retribution is now available across North America. The game puts players in the shoes (or paws) of Detective Jack Slate and his K-9 partner, Shadow, as they track down bad guys and put the smack down on criminals. It was released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms and retails for $59.99
Square Enix’s latest Action-RPG, Nier, has finally arrived on store shelves. In the game, you play as a father seeking a cure to a horrible plague which as afflicted his daughter. Also released is the game’s official launch trailer, which you can see below!
Over at WelcomeToNobleTeam.com you will find a teaser for a new video series to start on April 28th. The caption reads, ‘Augmentation Begins April 28th’, which sounds as though it will be a multi-part video series detailing Spartan indoctrination. Activision and Bizarre Creations released a new ‘Cars and Tracks’ video for their upcoming racer, BLUR. The game is set for release on May 25th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms. It features both licensed and ‘based-on’ cars to race in and against.
EA DICE has announced that the Kit Upgrade DLC codes will start being accepted tomorrow for their shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company 2. These codes can be found on specially-marked cans of Dr. Pepper and will unlock new uniforms and weapon camouflage. European gamers can purchase the kits on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 160 Microsoft Points per kit.
Focus Home Interactive and Pendulo Studios have taken the lid off of their next big graphical adventure game following the three-part Runaway franchise. Titled ‘The Next BIG Thing’, the game promises to pay careful homage to many of our favorite movie and TV franchises while also telling an intricate story in the vein of Runaway. Along with the initial announcement, they released two screenshots of the game, the first pictured above.

Namco Bandai has released the second part in their ‘Behind the Game’ video series for the upcoming action-shooter, Dead to Rights: Retribution. The game is said to feature a ‘hybrid combat system’ which promises to blend both melee and projectile weapon attacks. Retribution is due out in North America on April 27th.
