The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier Coming in November

September 2, 2016 – During our panel at PAX West today, Telltale took the stage to deliver some additional details surrounding the highly-anticipated third season of The Walking Dead.

Since its unveiling at E3 in June, the title and release window for the next season of the series have been tightly under wraps. Today, we can announce that ‘The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier’ will be premiering this November on consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile platforms. The series will also be available for purchase on a special ‘Season Pass Disc’ for consoles, which will include the premiere episode for the third season, as well as access to all subsequent episodes in the five episode season for download as they become available.

“This third new season will serve as both a continuation of what’s come before in our story, as well as an all-new beginning set nearly four years after the outbreak events of Season One,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “As a harrowing and horrific drama, ‘A New Frontier’ will explore beyond what it means to survive in a world ravaged by the undead, and will see our characters confronting the new rules of order and justice in a land being brutally reclaimed and rediscovered by what’s left of humanity itself.”

Players will take control of series newcomer Javier, a man struggling to keep his family together in the new world, while also playing as Clementine, now a teenage survivor holding secrets of her past while fighting to protect family of her own.

“When we began this series, we explored what it meant to protect a character like Clementine at all costs,” said Kevin Boyle, Executive Producer on the series. “Years later, meeting her for the first time, Javier will begin to unravel the mystery of who Clementine has become, as her story intersects with his – both of them still driven by the things they value most long after society’s collapse.”

‘The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier’ will be premiering this November. For more news and information on the third season, stay tuned to telltale.com, follow @telltalegames on twitter, and on follow our page on

Corsair Unveils New Carbide Air 740 Case

FREMONT, CA – September 2nd 2016 – CORSAIR®, a world leader in enthusiast memory, PC components and high-performance gaming hardware today extended its multi-award winning range of performance PC cases with the release of the new CORSAIR Carbide Air 740. Featuring CORSAIR’s innovative dual-chamber Direct Airflow Path™ design, exceptional cooling capabilities, unique bold design and a stunning tinted, fully removable side windowed panel, the CORSAIR Air 740 offers remarkable cooling performance and the flexibility to handle even the most ambitious enthusiast system builds.

An evolution of the best-selling CORSAIR Carbide Air 540, the Carbide Air 740 takes full advantage of its predecessor’s ground breaking dual-chamber design. Fully utilizing the space within the case, the Air 740 splits the system’s hardware between two compartments. The main chamber houses the core heat generating system components; the motherboard, CPU, graphics cards and memory, while the rear chamber mounts the 3.5in/2.5in drive bays and the PSU. This arrangement maximizes the airflow from the three pre-installed CORSAIR AF140L 140mm fans, delivering amazing unimpeded airflow through the main compartment. Drive cages and cables are neatly tucked away and don’t interfere with airflow, all without compromising on storage capacity.

The Air 740 takes the original Air 540’s dual-chamber concept even further with the removal of the 5.25in drive bays, allowing for a huge array of extreme system cooling options and up to eight 120mm cooling fans. The Air 740 can simultaneously mount a 240mm/280mm liquid cooling radiator in the roof, a 240mm/280mm radiator in the floor and a 240mm/280mm/360mm radiator in the front. What’s more, the Air 740’s enormous, hinged and fully removable side panel is perfect for showing off those amazing builds and setups, so your system can look as cool as it runs.

Part of the joy of owning a custom-built PC is building it yourself and with a host of installation-friendly features, the Air 740’s guarantees an easy setup experience for all users. The three 3.5” or four 2.5” tool-less drive trays in the rear chamber allows simple storage swapping, removable dust filters makes maintenance a breeze and the fully removable windowed side panel allows for fast installations, easy upgrades and convenient hardware accessibility.

With Air 740, CORSAIR started with the Air 540’s blueprint and elevated it to the next level, resulting in enhanced performance, improved design and phenomenal support for a wide-range of cooling options.  Air 740 – Legendary performance redefined.

Specifications:

  • Dual-chamber Direct Airflow Path™ design: Utilizes dual-chambers to deliver cooler air to your CPU, graphics cards, motherboard, memory, and other PCI-E components without your drives or power supply getting in the way.
  • Industrial-style ergonomics and space-saving internal design: Offers massive internal volume by moving the power supply and drive bays into a separate chamber.
  • Includes three custom Air Series AF140L intake and exhaust fans: Based on the award-winning AF140, the included fans provide great airflow performance at lower noise levels than typical case fans.

Farming Simulator 17 Gameplay #2 : Tending to Animals

August 2, 2016 – Watch the latest Gameplay Trailer for Farming Simulator 17, and discover how to keep and tend animals in this latest entry in Giants Software’s premiere agriculture series. There are more options for farmers than ever before, with the possibility to keep cows, sheep, chickens and, for the first time in the series, pigs!

Players who properly tend to their animals will be able to bring in more income for their farms! Fresh straw for bedding and suitable food for each animal’s diet means more wool from sheep flocks and more milk produced by cow herds. Each animal requires a specially crafted diet, with a careful balance between different food types which you can grow yourself on your own farm. Many vehicles and tools, including many new pieces of equipment, are dedicated to the tending of animals – a selection of which you can see in the trailer.

Keep the feeding areas tidy and clean, properly feed and water your animals, and offer them fresh bedding regularly. Doing this will cause your animals’ happiness to raise, maximizing their levels of reproduction. Keeping up with these needs means smart farmers can make a good profit by buying small groups of animals, then selling them in larger numbers after they multiply!

Farming Simulator 17 releases October 25 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Armored Warfare – Frontline Map Trailer

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – September 1, 2016 – Obsidian Entertainment and global publisher My.com are proud to announce the newest addition to Armored Warfare. Update 0.17 focuses on several quality of life improvements to continue the trend of addressing community requested enhancements. New features include the new VBR wheeled Armored Fighting Vehicle, the new co-op PvE challenge “Leviathan,” and the large and open PvP map, Frontline.

Update 0.17 features include:

  • New PvP map “Frontline”: Due to its size and natural openness, there are almost no natural routes for the players to take and tactics depend almost entirely on each team, as the terrain no longer dictates the vehicle deployment. The flow of battle is less predictable than on some of the other Armored Warfare maps and the players need to be constantly vigilant for the shifting tides of war.
  • New PvE mission “Leviathan”: A brand new challenge for the co-operative PvE mode of Armored Warfare. The newly-finished Aurora satellite sits on a remote island in the Pacific, having received the final touches that will facilitate its maiden flight. When adversarial forces threaten to destroy Aurora and its component parts, players must protect the satellite and defend the island’s facilities, stopping the enemies from capturing the Aurora and destroying it.
  • Two new vehicles will be implemented into the game in Update 0.17: The VBR Tier 8 AFV and the AMX 10 RCR Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • Improvements to the Shot Delay issue: We have continued to improve and optimized Armored Warfare’s weapon firing model in many aspects, with the goal of making it easier for players to hit targets more consistently while firing on the move.
  • PvE AI vehicle spawn overhaul: Before spawning an AI vehicle, this new system will check to see if it has Line of Sight and is within close radius to players in an attempt to find a location that is not directly on top of players. This should greatly reduce the cases in which AI vehicles spawn in-sight of and around players.

BERLIN, GERMANY (August 31, 2016) Acer (TWSE: 2353, LSE: ACID) and Starbreeze AB (First North: STAR) today announced at a global press conference in Berlin that they have started to ship StarVR® Virtual Reality (VR) Head-Mounted Displays (HMD) to IMAX Corporation in preparation for the highly anticipated opening of the IMAX VR® Center in Los Angeles, expected later this year, and others in the near future. Earlier in 2016, Acer committed to delivering a small volume of units of StarVR® HMDs this year with mass production of the devices to commence in 2017. Also on hand at the press conference were Bo Andersson Klint, CEO at Starbreeze and Rob Lister, Chief Business Development Officer at IMAX Corporation.

“With this shipment to as important a player in the entertainment industry as IMAX, we are absolutely thrilled that we are well on our way in bringing the virtual reality experience to the next level and to the world” said Jason Chen, President and CEO at Acer. “The realization of the most premium VR experience ever offered isn’t just our dream, but one of an entire ecosystem that encompasses hardware makers, videogame developers, theater companies, filmmakers and many others.” Chen highlighted at the global press conference that movies and videogames have exceedingly become ever more closely entwined. The lines are blurring between movies and videogames, and are moving beyond just two mediums that have traditionally only complemented one another. He said they were converging to become a more dynamic, immersive form of storytelling, and virtual reality would feature prominently in this development.

“We’re extremely proud to be able to show the first manufactured units of the StarVR® headset produced in our collaboration with Acer. Since announcing the StarVR® headset in 2015, we’re finally at a place where we can see the pieces of our vision coming together. From day one we’ve been convinced that we can deliver premium experiences with premium hardware. The search for great partners sharing the same vision was long, but we’re happy to be able to lay down these two fundamental parts in Starbreeze VR-ecosystem together with Acer and IMAX. We can’t wait for people to start experiencing world-class virtual reality in the StarVR HMD and at IMAX VR® centers, said Bo Andersson Klint, Starbreeze CEO.

“We are looking forward to the launch of our first IMAX VR® center and pleased with the progress demonstrated by the initial shipment of StarVR® HMDs from Acer and Starbreeze, as this exciting industry continues to develop and grow,” said Robert D. Lister, Chief Business Development Officer, IMAX Corp. “IMAX is committed to delivering immerse, multi-dimensional virtual reality experiences, featuring some of the world’s best entertainment and gaming properties, to premium locations, including multiplexes, malls and other commercial destinations.”

Nutri Ninja Blending System with Auto-iQ Review

The folks at Nutri Ninja are definitely putting out some products that will appeal to the tech-savvy as well as food-loving people out there. Last time, we got to check out their Ninja Coffee Bar. Providing much-needed caffeine for long gaming sessions, we loved the product for its smart Auto-iQ technology. Now, we get the chance to check out the Nutri Ninja Ninja Blender System With Auto-iQ. The Nutri Ninja Blender System with Auto-iQ will, hopefully, provide gamers with nutritionally-strong, yet great-tasting smoothies and a lot more.

nutri-ninja-2

The Nutri Ninja Blender System with Auto-iQ is actually made up of several products, all bundled into one super pack of blending goodness. Headlining the system is the blender itself which packs a whopping 1500 watt motor base pushing 2 horsepower. In case you are wondering how that stacks up – most 800+ watt blenders easily cost over $300 dollars and they don’t come with all the extras the Nutri Ninja Blender System package does. I blended up smoothies with all kinds of fruit – fruit which, usually, gets stuck in the carafe and never gets blended up until I turn the unit off, push it down, and restart. With the Nutri Ninja Blender System, you get a central column with ridges that pull food down into the blades. This kind of feature is usually only seen on professional-grade smoothie blenders at places like Jamba Juice. Having it on a home blender makes an absolute world of difference, and is one of my favorite things about this blender.

Aside from the central spinning column, this blender is equipped with Auto-iQ, the same tech I loved so much from their Ninja Coffee Bar. With that system, the Auto-iQ changed the levels of water and intensity depending on the type of drink you were looking to brew. I didn’t know how they would adapt the tech for the blender until I dove into using it.

nutri-ninja-4

Auto-iQ on the blender system comes in the form of 5 preset programs. These programs are listed as: Blend, Ultra Blend, Frozen Drinks Smoothies, and Food Puree – each doing kind of what you would expect them to. There are also manual controls on the blender in case you want to tweak the finish product to your liking.

This is where I went out of my comfort zone. You see, if the Nutri Ninja Blender System were JUST a blender, I would be fine making smoothies for post-workout recovery and that would be fine. I would even rate it highly at $249 dollars for just the blender unit – it is that good at making smoothies. This system does so much more, though, thanks to all its added accessories.

AutoiQ_popup2

For instance, the blender system comes with a food processing bowl attachment, crushing blades, extractor blades, two different size blender cups, a pitcher pour lid, and even a dough-making blade set for use in the food processor bowl. This is all way beyond my pay-grade as someone who usually doesn’t do much cooking.

Overall, the Nutri Ninja Blender System with Auto-iQ is a great way to prepare healthy smoothies for any occasion – whether you need a post-workout recovery shake or just a weight loss promoting meal replacement drink. If you cook, however, you will LOVE the added functionality of the food processor and dough making bladeset. The blender system retails for $249 but is on sale at many online vendors now.

Master of Orion Review (2016)

In 1993, MicroProse and Simtex shoved the turn-based strategy genre on its ear with the release of Master of Orion. Putting players in control of a massive galactic empire, the game had an extremely high replayability factor and fun gameplay. As a testament to this, the original Master of Orion is still enjoyed by many gamers to this day thanks to DOS emulators. In 1996, MicroProse and Simtex released Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares, once again raising the bar for strategy games. While Master of Orion III met with a controversial release, the Master of Orion IP looked to be forgotten by MicroProse (and all the issues that company had) until it was purchased by Wargaming.net. Wargaming, known for their online multiplayer tank game, World of Tanks, seemed an odd choice for this IP. Then I saw the game in a very early stage several Electronic Entertainment Expos (E3) ago and knew it was in good hands. Today, a new chapter in the Master of Orion saga has been released and once again it is time to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate!

moo-2016-2

Master of Orion 2016 begins by allowing players several options in setting up their game. Options taken from recent strategy titles as well as the original Master of Orion. You can select available victory types, galaxy and race options, and a whole lot more. Whatever kind of strategy gamer you are – whether you prefer slow and plodding games that span thousands of turns or quick skirmish style races to power, Master of Orion 2016 will have some options that work for you.

Playing Master of Orion 2016 features a user interface that is super easy to navigate and, if you have played ANY space strategy games like this since the original Master of Orion in 1993, you will figure it out even without the help of instructions or tutorials. For those of you who cannot figure the UI out for some reason, there are in-game tutorials available for the newbie Emperors out there.

Designing your warships has been streamlined in a very intuitive manner. Each race starts with a basic set of ships and, based on your research choices, you will gain access to others. When a new technology is discovered, windows will pop up allowing you to auto-upgrade your existing ship blueprints as well as upgrade any ships around your colonies (for a price). The AI is fairly good at integrating this new tech into the existing designs and, in the early game, I relied on the basic ship upgrade system a lot. It helps the flow of the game greatly. Once I gained some technological power, I began my hobby of building custom ship types. The ship designer is very similar to the ones found in Master of Orion and Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares. Again, Wargaming has done a lot to help both veterans and newbies to the series figure things out and they deserve much praise for this. A lot of this praise could be directed to the developer Wargaming put in-charge of development: NGD Studios, which employed some of the series’ initial development team from 1993!

moo-2016-4

Diplomacy is back and, once again, a big path to glory for those more diplomatic races out there. Just be warned, if negotiations turn sour, you could end up talking your empire into war! The shadowy side of the diplomacy coin is also back: Spying! While the Darloks are the games best race at performing espionage, most species can engage in it in some for or another. At the very least, you should assign your agents to counter-espionage duties! This time around, you assign one agent per colony world (friendly or other). Once that agent has arrived, you can assign them a mission to perform. Such missions range from the previously-mentioned counter-espionage all the way to inciting a revolution on an enemy world!

The one aspect of the game I wish could be different was the tactical combat. In Master of Orion and Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares, the combat was played out in turn-based fashion. Each ship had an initiative rating which would determine the order it got to act. This turn-based gameplay lent itself to some seriously-cool tactical possibilities. In Master of Orion 2016, the combat takes place in real-time with the option to pause and assign orders. This streamlining of the combat system doesn’t give the player as much micromanaging potential to command his or her fleets into the fray. It is still fun and the pretty visuals give you some nice stuff to look at, but that core turn-based mechanic is missing and I am feeling that loss.

moo-2016-3

The thing that I missed second-most in Master of Orion 2016 was the lack of a galactic senate. That gameplay mechanic was something that Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares had and it could be expanded to add a lot to the universe at large. Maybe if Wargaming creates a sequel, that mechanic will be added to the mix?

Overall, Master of Orion 2016 is a really fun 4X strategy game worthy of the Master of Orion name. While it does suffer some issues from time to time, at the end of your term as Emperor you will not feel letdown at all. Personally, I am enjoying playing game sessions ad nauseam, trying out the various galaxy and race options. Wargaming and NGD Studios have done a great job!
