Insta360 Releases Waterproof Housing

November 8, 2017 – Insta360 today launched the waterproof housing accessory for its 4K 360-degree action camera, the Insta360 ONE. The easy-to-use housing is backed with an IP68 rating, meaning that it’s protected against dust, splashing and submersion in water.

Once users pop their ONE into the housing, the camera is operable with a simple button on the outside of the housing or via Bluetooth control.

With the new housing, which weighs only 3.17 ounces (90 grams) and has a 9HD hardness rating, users will be able to capture stunning 360 video in a huge range of settings – from white-water rafting to rainforest treks.

The housing protects the ONE from water at depths of up to 30 meters. The camera, however, is not specifically designed for underwater video capture – the refraction that light undergoes as it passes through water can result in stitching lines between the images captured by the ONE’s two lenses.

But thanks to the ONE’s unique FreeCapture function, users can easily reframe the best parts of an underwater 360 video as standard, “flat” content to avoid stitching lines.

In any non-submersed scenarios, the waterproof housing can be used to output fully spherical, seamless 360 video and photos, stitched with Insta360’s industry-leading algorithm.

Available now at Insta360’s online store https://mall.insta360.com/product/one and our official Amazon store at http://bit.ly/insta360Amazon, the Insta360 ONE Waterproof Housing is priced at $49.00 USD.

A new version of the Insta360 ONE app, which will be released by Nov. 17, is needed when using the waterproof housing. Users should update the ONE app before using the waterproof housing.

SAG-AFTRA Approves Interactive Media Video Game Agreement

LOS ANGELES (November 7, 2017) – In national voting completed today, members of SAG-AFTRA voted overwhelmingly to approve the successor to the Interactive Media Video Game Agreement by a vote of 90 percent to 10 percent.

The terms of the tentative agreement, which was reached on September 22, include a new bonus structure that provides additional payments to performers based on number of sessions worked. The bonus payments, which are due no later than the release date of the game, begin with an additional $75 payment on the first session and totaling $2,100 after 10 sessions worked.

The deal also contains new transparency provisions that will enhance the bargaining power of our members’ representatives by requiring the companies to disclose the code name of project, its genre, whether the game is based on previously published intellectual property and whether the performer is reprising a prior role. Members are also protected by the disclosure of whether they will be required to use unusual terminology, profanity or racial slurs, whether there will be content of a sexual or violent nature and whether stunts will be required.

In addition, the deal includes an employer commitment to continue working with SAG-AFTRA on the issue of vocal stress during the term of the agreement.

SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris said, “This agreement is the first step towards streamlining the work our members do in the video game industry. The deal includes significant improvements in the area of transparency and the payment structure ensures that our members are compensated fairly for their work. I am excited for what this means for our members moving forward.”

Says SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director David White, “I’d like to thank our Chief Contracts Officer Ray Rodriguez as well as our Interactive Negotiating Committee for leading these negotiations. This negotiation was hard fought and hard won. We achieved a stronger successor agreement and I am proud of the results.”

Adds Keythe Farley, chair of the SAG-AFTRA Interactive Negotiating Committee, “The bonus payments we asked for are now part of the video game industry and are a base from which to build upon. I’m excited for all that we have achieved.”

The agreement does not include several proposals sought by management, including a provision that would have fined performers for being late or distracted at session, another that would have required agents to submit performers for low-paying “atmospheric voice” sessions or face fines and a possible revocation of their union franchise, and another that would have allowed employers to use their permanent staff to do covered work outside of the collective bargaining agreement.

Informational voting cards were mailed to approximately 7,200 affected members of SAG-AFTRA, of which 10 percent voted. The final vote was certified by Integrity Voting Systems, an impartial election service based in Everett, Washington.

The agreement becomes effective November 8, 2017 and expires November 7, 2020.

The National Board unanimously approved the tentative agreement on October 9, 2017, ending a strike against 11 video game companies that began on October 21, 2016.

November 7, 2017 – Hasbro, a global play and entertainment company, and Machinima, the premiere digital video programmer of gamer and fandom-focused content, have released the official trailer for the second chapter of the upcoming digital series TRANSFORMERS: TITANS RETURN.

The trailer provides a first look at the incredible voice-talent making their debut in the Prime Wars Trilogy including Peter Cullen, who originated the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1980s animated Transformers series, Judd Nelson, who is reprising his roles of Rodimus Prime and Hot Rod from the 1986 animated Transformers movie, Michael Dorn as Fortress Maximus, Wil Wheaton as Perceptor, Nolan North as Metroplex and Jason David Frank as Emissary.

Continuing the massive worldwide interest in Transformers: Combiner Wars, TITANS RETURN debuts November 14 in the U.S on Verizon’s go90, a premium mobile entertainment destination, and on Tumblr in the rest of the world, with the exception of Sohu.com in China. The series features 10 episodes at approximately 11 minutes per episode. Since launching the trilogy’s first installment of the digital series in August 2016, Transformers: Combiner Wars, has garnered more than 125 million global views across a variety of digital platforms.

ABOUT TITANS RETURN
TITANS RETURN stars Peter Cullen, who originated the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1980s animated Transformers series and will be making his Prime Wars Trilogy debut in the upcoming installment as the voice of Optimus Prime. Cullen will be joined by a host of fan favorites including Judd Nelson, who is reprising his roles of Rodimus Prime and Hot Rod from the 1986 animated Transformers movie, Michael Dorn as Fortress Maximus, Wil Wheaton as Perceptor, Nolan North as Metroplex and Jason David Frank as Emissary.

They are joined by returning talent from Combiner Wars, including Abby Trott (Windblade), Jason Marnocha (Megatron), Frank Todaro (Starscream), Lana McKissack (Mistress of Flame), and DashieGames (Menasor), as well as a new set of influencers like MatPat (Computron), Rob Dyke (Devastator) and Tay Zonday (Chorus of the Primes).

Picking up right where the destruction of the Combiner Wars left off, TITANS RETURN takes the action of the Prime Wars Trilogy to new ‘heights,’ and features return appearances from many fan-favorite Transformers characters as well as introduces new Autobots and Decepticons. In the series, enormous Transformers called Titans are awakened and these massive characters bring massive problems. Trypticon, a gigantic lizard-like Transformer, rises to wreak havoc on Cybertron, while Windblade and a rag-tag team of Transformers must resurrect an ancient ally. Not all Transformers will survive, as beloved heroes are changed forever while others’ sparks are blown to oblivion. Like Combiner Wars, sophisticated storytelling reveals more than meets the eye for older audiences and kids of all ages when a sinister secret is discovered.

BlizzCon 2017 Sees Over 30,000 Attendees

IRVINE, Calif.—November 6, 2017—At BlizzCon® 2017, more than 30,000 players gathered to experience the latest updates to their favorite Blizzard games and cheer on top esports competitors, with millions more joining online. Over two days packed with developer panels, friendly competition, and live entertainment, the Blizzard community learned about and went hands-on with new heroes, new gameplay updates, and new expansions coming to the company’s blockbuster franchises.

Attendees and viewers also witnessed the dramatic conclusions to three esports championships and three exhibition-style competitions:

StarCraft® II World Championship Series Global Finals

Winner: Rogue

With two championship titles already under his belt in 2017, Rogue arrived on the global stage at BlizzCon as a favorite to win the whole tournament. Once he got warmed up in the grand final against SoO, he showed the world he definitely deserves the title of WCS Global Champion with a 4–2 series win.

Heroes of the Storm® Global Championship Finals

Winning team: MVP Black

MVP Black and Fnatic met in the final match of the HGC Finals after both teams moved past the semis with 3–0 wins. When the dust settled, it was MVP Black standing tall over the Swedish powerhouse with a 3–1 victory after a barnburner of a finale. MVP Black’s unwavering determination and dedication to their craft was enough to secure them their first trophy at BlizzCon.

World of Warcraft® Arena World Championship

Winning team:  ABC

The European streak continues as ABC sweeps Panda Global in the most decisive championship match in the history of the tournament. Working against a hostile crowd, ABC triumphed behind the Arcane Mage play of Alex ‘Alec’ Sheldrick to bring the WoW Arena trophy to Europe for the fourth straight year.

Overwatch® World Cup

Winning nation: South Korea

South Korea was always expected to be the “final boss” at BlizzCon—and runner-up Canada fought valiantly in taking a single map—but in the end the story finished as expected. Ryujehong and company’s sudden vulnerability didn’t make a difference as South Korea goes two-for-two in Overwatch World Cup Championships.

Hearthstone® Inn-vitational

Winning team: Grimestreet Grifters

After two days of frenetic and varied play among the 12 community personalities, the Grimestreet Grifters—comprised of Andrey ‘Reynad’ Yanyuk, Hakjun ‘Kranich’ Baek, and Pathra Cadness—emerged victorious. The best-of-11 finals saw the format of each game drawn from a sealed envelope, and players were individually eliminated from the stage until the Grifters claimed the trophy 6–5 over the Chillblade Crusaders.

StarCraft: Remastered Ultimate Title Fight

Winner: Bisu

Although Lee “Jaedong” Jae Dong and Kim “Bisu” Taek Yong’s lengthy careers largely overlapped, they hardly ever played each other outside of team leagues. That changed when the two StarCraft legends met in the Ultimate Title Fight, a best-of-five showmatch with $25,000 on the line. In the fifth and final game, Bisu seemed to get a read on Jaedong’s aggressive strategy, and managed to hold him off to take the series 3–2.

Razer Unveils D.Va peripheral Line for Overwatch

ANAHEIM, Calif. (BLIZZCON 2017) – Razer™, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the officially licensed D.Va peripheral suite for Overwatch™, the record-breaking, team-based game by Blizzard Entertainment, developer and publisher of some of the world’s most epic games.

The gamer-inspired set of peripherals emulate the in-game persona of former professional StarCraft II player Hana Song (aka “D.Va”). The line includes D.Va’s iconic MEKA headset brought to life as a brand new Razer analog on-ear headset with integrated mic; a tournament-grade D.Va Razer Abyssus Elite gaming mouse; and an esports-preferred D.Va Razer Goliathus Medium Speed mouse mat.

“Since launching over a year ago, Overwatch has become a worldwide phenomenon and so has the love and affection for Blizzard’s beloved character, D.Va,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “She’s a gamer through and through and plays to win. When the idea to have a character-specific suite of products came up, the decision was ‘easy mode.’”

The D.Va Razer MEKA gaming headset features an omnidirectional mic and in-line controls for seamless communication with teammates. It is compatible with PC, Mac, Xbox One™, Playstation® and mobile devices.

The Abyssus – Razer’s original best-selling competitive “StarCraft” mouse – is reimagined with tournament-ready accuracy, sensitivity and responsiveness. The new gaming mouse features a true 7,200 dots-per-inch (DPI) optical sensor, 220 inches per second (IPS) tracking and up to 30 G acceleration. Gamers may access an array of dynamic Razer Chroma™ lighting effects on the mouse through Razer Synapse 3 (beta).

The D.Va Razer Goliathus mouse mat complements D.Va’s new Abyssus, optimized for all types of sensitivity settings and sensors types on any mouse.

The D.Va Razer Abyssus Elite gaming mouse and D.Va Razer Goliathus mouse mat are available today at www.razerzone.com. The D.Va Razer MEKA Gaming headset will release later this year.
