New Transformers: Dark of the Moon Screenshots

Activision has sent out some new screenshots from their upcoming video game adaptation of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Due out June 14th, Dark of the Moon allows players to play as their favorite Autobots and Decepticons in third-person gameplay similar to that found in Transformers: War for Cybertron. Happy Star Wars Day 2011

Another May 4th has arrived and, with that date, the arrival of another official “Star Wars Day”. Star Wars Day, for those of you who don’t know, is the unofficial Star Wars holiday which began with the joke “May the Fourth Be With You” some years back. What are you supposed to do in honor of this day? Well, you can revisit one of the films, the whole series, dress in a robe – whatever you like!

Moon Diver Out Now on XBLA

Square Enix has announced the release of their highly-anticipated side-scroller, Moon Diver, in which players attempt to re-take the planet from an army of sentient (and PO’d) every day items. It seems that an alien force has animated things like cars, bridges, and cities which are now out to destroy humanity. LucasArts Teases May 4th Announcement

We just got this postcard image from LucasArts stating that “On May 4th, All Will be Revealed”. They are directing everyone to checkout  http://MayThe4th.StarWars.com at 6:00am PST on May 4th to discover what this announcement will bring. At the website, a countdown timer is already moving. What will this countdown reveal – a new game? Star Tours 2 information? A setup for E3? Only time will tell!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation DLC Pack Out Now

Activision has announced the Xbox 360 release of their long-awaited Escalation DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Escalation features five new maps as well as a new ‘Call of the Dead’ mode, which puts players in the zombie-slaying boots of genre actors Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker, Danny Trejo, and Robert Englund as they take on hordes of the undead.

The Escalation content pack’s new multiplayer maps include:

  • “Hotel,” where players battle it out on the roof of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino against the vivid backdrop of old Havana
  • “Convoy,” which delivers intense, close-quarters combat at the scene of an ambushed U.S. military convoy
  • “Zoo,” which sets gamers on an eerie ride through an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo with danger at every turn
  • “Stockpile,” which pits players in a remote Russian farm town, housing secret WMD facilities
  • “Call of the Dead,” Escalation‘sZombie experience that assembles a zombie-carnage dream team to fight against a new and undefeatable zombie horde menace, all set in the dark, ice-covered isles of Siberia.

Escalation retails for 1,200 Microsoft Points and will appear on the PlayStation 3 and Windows PC platforms “soon”.

Alienware and Dell have announced that the Alienware M18x gaming laptop is now on sale. The gaming laptop starts at $1,999 and features a ton of customizations available to the consumer. In these customizations is the option to have up to 32GB of DDR3 RAM. The laptop also features the new USB 3.0 slots as well as an 18.4″ display.

Virtua Tennis 4 PlayStation Move Trailer

SEGA has released a new trailer showing off the PlayStation Move functionality of their upcoming Virtua Tennis 4 on the PlayStation 3 platform. The game is due out on May 10th for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms, with a PC release later this Summer.

L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories Announced

Rockstar Games has announced that they have partnered with Mullholand Books to create a novel based on their upcoming crime-thriller video game, L.A. Noire. L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories will feature 8 individual tales from the L.A. Noire universe from 8 different authors. The book will be available across various media outlets prior to the launch of L.A. Noire  on May 17, 2011 in North America and May 20, 2011 in Europe.

“L.A. Noire draws on a rich history of not just film, but also great crime literature for inspiration,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “Using the game’s world as a springboard, we worked with the genre’s best writers to create stories that lived up to the finest traditions of crime fiction.”

Razer Re-Designs Goliathus Mouse Surface

Razer has announced that they have re-designed their Goliathus gaming mouse mat to include a new anti-fray stitching in the pad.The Razer Goliathus ‘Control Edition’ and ‘Speed Edition’ will retail from $14.99 to $34.99 depending on the size of the pad and will be released this month.

Black Prophecy Gets New Patch and Missions

Reakktor Media and gamigo AG have announced a new patch for their online space combat game, Black Prophecy. In addition to a multitude of enhancements and bug-fixes, the patch also adds a number of new missions for players to undertake. * Damage distribution changed slightly: Damage is distributed evenly among active ship items, proportional to the items’ durability percentage in relation to the entire ship. The item that is directly hit (unless it’s the cockpit) receives slightly more percental damage than the other items.
* Repair kit durability is distributed evenly among all active ship items, proportional to the items’ durability percentage in relation to the entire ship.
* Increased the amounts repaired by the higher level repair kits.
* Fixed heavy alien fighter item values. It can turn at decent speeds now.
* Implemented better spawn point variation for weapon transporters in the Nimbus, to prevent spawn point camping.
* Fixed a bug in the mission “Energy Reserves”.
* Fixed an AI bug that caused NPCs to have steering problems when switching to sniper weapons.
* Fixed an AI bug that caused NPCs to not move when they should try to hide.

* Fixed an AI bug that caused NPCs to ignore new threats when purposefully attacking enemies.

HUD

* Quickplay/instance button and sector/station name info no longer disappear when docked to a station and activating mouse mode.
* Premium items can no longer be moved to the ship inventory while a trade with a player or NPC is already active.
* Fixed kill-assist game messages if the player is killed by an NPC, but was damaged by other players before.
* Quickplay is now correctly being disabled when the client disconnects.
* More detailed information is now displayed when a player wants to request a clan sector.
* Removed warning message when players cancel their pending mission.
* Fixed a case where players could receive an error message “mission already starting” even after logging out and logging back in.
* Reserved names filter has been updated to allow some popular, previously blocked character names.

GFX

* Fixed colony ship texture flickering.
* Fixed engine exhaust effects for Tyi fighters.
* Fixed weapon attachment alignment for Tyi fighter wing module.
* Enhanced areas influenced by player color for Tyi fighter modules.
* Correct interior scene is now shown in the Gyoda Nebula for Tyi players.

The Easter content will be deactivated. Already looted eggs and blueprints will remain in the game.
