The Queen Mary Horror Movie Trilogy Announced

Alice Eve (Belgravia, Star Trek) has signed to star in ‘The Queen Mary’, the first in a trilogy of highly anticipated feature horror films inspired by the hauntings on-board the infamous ocean liner. Gary Shore (Dracula Untold) will direct off of a screenplay written by Stephen Oliver, Tom Vaughan, and Gary Shore. Developed and produced by Brett Tomberlin of Imagination Design Works, along with Nigel Sinclair and Nicholas Ferrall of White Horse Pictures (The Woman in Black, The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, Let Me In, End of Watch), Thorsten Schumacher and Lars Sylvest for Rocket Science (Resistance) and Jason Newmark and Laurie Cook of Newscope.

Eve most recently starred in Julian Fellowes Downton Abbey follow up ‘Belgravia’ and is currently shooting ‘The Power’ for Amazon.

Located in dock at Long Beach, Calif, the multi-storied ocean liner, named Time Magazine’s most haunted place in the world, receives two million visitors each year, drawn by its amazing history and legend.

“We were immediately obsessed with Gary’s intelligent and twisted multi-film take on a great American legend and could not be more excited working with an extremely gifted actor in bringing this story to audiences around the world,” said Tomberlin.

Gary Shore added, “I’m fascinated, obsessed and disturbed by this ship – there’s something very dark and human about her. It’s a stylistic tightrope between reverence and horror.”

In 2014 Gary Shore made his feature film debut with the horror fantasy epic Dracula Untold, for Universal Pictures. The film was a global success amassing $215M at the worldwide box office, hitting number one in over thirty countries.

Tobin Armbrust will executive produce together with White Horse’s Cassidy Hartmann. Andy Trapani, Brian Gilbert, and Steve Sheldon of Epic Entertainment Group will also serve as Executive Producers. White Horse Pictures’ Jeanne Elfant Festa will co-executive produce. Tom Vaughan will co-produce. Mali Elfman is producing alongside Mark Tomberlin and Jordan Rambis who are executive producing as part of Imagination Design Works. Rocket Science is on board to fully finance and represent worldwide distribution rights.

Eve is represented by Independent Talent Group, CAA, and Silver Lining Entertainment. Shore is represented by WME, 42 and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern. Vaughan is repped by Mark Hartogsohn and Danny Toth and The Gersh Agency, and Kailey Marsh at Brillstein Partners. Attorney Cliff Lo and Alexa Pagonas of Michael Black Management negotiated the Queen Mary rights deal on behalf of Imagination Design Works.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Mission Playthrough Trailer Released

Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV) today announced that the PC Alpha for the highly anticipated Elite Dangerous: Odyssey game expansion will start on 29 March. In anticipation of the exciting new gameplay features Commanders will first experience during the Alpha phase, Frontier released a video showing an Odyssey mission playthrough, which features gameplay captured from a raid mission.

The video shows a team of three Commanders plunge into a daring on-foot raid of a military outpost. Their objective: to disable the power center and ultimately render the opposing faction powerless.

All three Commanders in the incursion team are specially equipped for their assigned role, selected from the wide range of space suits, weapons and equipment available in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. Their tactical gear grants them an edge in their assigned tasks, whether it is to infiltrate the base avoiding detection, lay down covering fire if the alarm is raised, hacking, or quickly extract their teammates from a tight spot if enemy forces overwhelm them.

The Elite Dangerous galaxy’s rich setting and open-ended design reaches a new level of depth thanks to Odyssey’s feet-on-the-ground gameplay. Introducing the detailed scale that is needed for on-foot gameplay while maintaining the vast distances measured in light years and the myriad missions available to players, Odyssey will greatly augment the already rich world of Elite Dangerous, offering a more personal experience for all Commanders to enjoy in their own way, in addition to the vast galaxy they can already explore.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey releases on PC in late spring 2021 with an Alpha scheduled to begin on 29 March. Releases on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and the Xbox One all-in-one games and entertainment system are planned for Autumn 2021. Prospective PC Commanders can pre-order now and secure their access to the upcoming Alpha via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Frontier Store.

Chronicle of Innsmouth: Mountains of Madness Coming to Steam

You died, of that you are sure. Your encounter with the Shoggoth left you broken, bleeding out in the sand of that fateful shore. You fell into endless darkness – and then woke up again, whole and unharmed. You don’t know what happened, but something has changed. Visions and nightmares follow you since then – and there’s a mystery you’ve got to solve, an adventure that will test your wits and drag you to the limits of your sanity… and perhaps beyond.

PsychoDev announces today the Lovecraftian point’n’click adventure Chronicle of Innsmouth: Mountains of Madness, which will be published on Steam by late March (final date to be announced). In this adventure, inspired by retro Lucas’ classics from the 90s and based on HP Lovecraft’s stories, you play as the investigator Lone Carter, who comes back home after an encounter with the Mythos only to find himself in a complex plot that intertwines different characters, places and even eras. A mystery story involving a series of deaths and disappearances, where your skills as a detective will face the cosmic horror and dread of the Cthulhu Mythos – you need to find the truth, but the truth might be too much to bear.

Review keys will be available soon. Ask us for yours — if you think your mind is strong enough to face nameless horrors…

ABOUT CHRONICLE OF INNSMOUTH: MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS

Mountains of Madness is the second entry in the Chronicle of Innsmouth franchise, and is set 10 years before the events of the first chapter. The game completed successfully a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter on late 2018, right after the release of its predecessor, which was based in The Shadow over Innsmouth.

Written by a Lovecraft expert, the game is based on the eponymous novella, but features many references to other stories. It also includes many easter eggs that only the geekiest of Lovecraft geeks will get (like Lone Carter’s name himself), and gives you the opportunity to play as the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred, author of the dreaded Necronomicon, and at some point as HP Lovecraft himself.

KEY FEATURES

  • A mature, horrifying story, combining the thrilling mystery of a detective story with a cosmic horror setting.
  • Inspired by The Mountains of Madness, but with many original elements to surprise you at every corner.
  • Test your wits and deduction skills with clever puzzles, logical but challenging.
  • Interact with many characters, both original and taken from Lovecraft’s works. Play as detective Lone Carter, but also as iconic Lovecraft characters as Abdul Alhazred – and even H.P. Lovecraft himself!
  • Retro art style, inspired by the early 90s Lucasarts classics.
  • A brilliant unsettling original soundtrack, full of tension and mystery, to underline the disturbing events of this story.
