Razer Unveils New Seiren X Microphone and Kiyo Camera

LONG BEACH, Calif. (TwitchCon 2017) – Razer™, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today unveiled new additions to its Razer Broadcaster product line for professional-grade video streaming: the Razer Kiyo camera and the Razer Seiren X microphone.

Input from top professional and grassroots game streamers from around the world helped to refine Razer’s latest Broadcaster hardware, ensuring superior functionality, ease of use and contemporary designs.

Razer Kiyo

The Razer Kiyo is the world’s first desktop camera equipped with an adjustable ring light. This enables an all-in-one solution that provides high image quality and professional-grade lighting without additional accessories. Twelve levels of brightness help achieve ideal lighting in any environment. Steamers no longer have to rely on low-light compensation with lowered frame rates. High-definition video outputs at 720p with 60 FPS (up to 1080p with 30 FPS).

The Razer Kiyo is compatible with Open Broadcaster Software and XSplit.

Razer Seiren X

The Razer Seiren X is a professional-grade USB condenser microphone that features the world’s first inbuilt shock mount for an all-in-one professional setup in a compact, portable form factor. It is equipped with 25 mm condenser capsules for enhanced recording sensitivity. Super cardioid pickup pattern records sound at a tighter and more precise angle optimized for streaming.

A removable desk stand makes the Razer Seiren X highly portable.

“When Razer invited me in to check out some early prototypes, it was awesome to see their take on features and equipment I use every day,” says Jericho, a top streamer and influencer on Twitch and YouTube. “I felt like an honorary member of the design team giving feedback so early on” says Jericho, Leading Streamer.

“Streaming has become an integral part of the gaming community,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “We took a hard look at what streamers really needed, and engineered products to support those specific use cases. The result are products that produce professional quality streams while remaining accessible to beginner users.”

The Endless March Comes to For Honor

SAN FRANCISCO — October 19, 2017 — Today, Ubisoft announced that For Honor® will run a special seasonal event, Feast of the Otherworld, across all platforms from October 19 to November 2. This new event will bring a haunting variation of the 4v4 Dominion mode, where skeletons have taken over the battlefield. Players will also be able to loot exclusive Halloween-themed cosmetics during the event, including mood effects, emotes and ornaments.

The addition of unique Endless March mode introduces a new set of rules for the 4v4 Dominion mode, which challenges players to adapt their strategies to take down the opposing team. In Endless March, soldiers appear as skeletons and deal brutal damage. Conquering zones will only yield temporary points; the only sources of permanent points available to players come from killing soldiers and enemy players. As with Dominion, players must reach 1000 points and defeat all four enemy players in order to win the game.

The Feast of the Otherworld brings players new Halloween-themed rewards. Players can customize each of their Heroes with new mythic outfits that include all-new masks, which transform players into ghoulish versions of themselves. Additional For Honor weekly content released during this time will have a special Halloween flavor to celebrate the limited-time event.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios,* For Honor offers an engaging campaign and thrilling multiplayer modes. Players embody warriors of the three Great Factions – the bold Knights, the brutal Vikings and the deadly Samurai – fighting to the death on intense and believable melee battlefields. The Art of Battle, the game’s innovative combat system that puts players in total control of their warriors, allows them to utilize the unique skills and combat style of each hero to vanquish all enemies who stand in their way. For Honor will continue to grow and improve with a new season launching in November, alongside plans to introduce dedicated servers further down the development schedule.

George A. Romero Tribute Announced for Dying Light

October 19th, 2017 – Wroclaw, Poland / Techland is proud to unveil a special commemorative mural to the Father of Zombies, George A. Romero, in Dying Light. The tribute has received the full backing of the iconic director’s son, George Cameron Romero.

Techland has also released a short video in which a horde of the undead puts their flesh-cravings aside to salute the man who invented the zombie genre of cinema and inspired generations of future horror auteurs — including Techland’s own Dying Light team.

Players can visit the graffiti-style mural in the area around Jaffar’s Workshop and pay their respects, as the art was added to the game on Monday as part of the Content Drop #1 update.

George A. Romero’s son, George Cameron Romero, said of the tribute:

“When members of Techland reached out to me asking if I would be ok with them paying homage to my father in their game “Dying Light,” I was honored as I’m a massive fan of the game and I love the graffiti work they do! What a beautiful way to give his fans a lasting tribute on a wall that won’t get painted over. I hope everyone who is a fan of his, or mine, will have fun looking for the George A. Romero commemorative mural in the game and I hope everyone out there remembers that he was once called the most dangerous filmmaker alive, #filmsusedtobedangerous and thanks to him I will never forget that #filmisfearless.”

Considered by many to be one of the most important independent filmmakers of all time, Romero’s back catalogue of gruesome and satirical horror films includes: Night of the Living DeadDawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead.

Left-Hand Path Launch Date Announced

Somewhere in the UK – October 19, 2017 – Developed and published by Strange Company, Left-Hand Path is a Dark Souls-inspired room-scale virtual reality adventure and horror RPG where players hold the power of magic in their hands. It will launch on November 10 for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Touch from Facebook for $29.99 USD/€27.99 EUR/£23.79 GBP, players must learn to explore a magical landscape armed with a growing knowledge of arcane gestures to cast powerful demon-killing spells, perform ancient rituals, and learn the terrible truths behind the Well of All Rewards.

“Isaac Newton said ‘If I have seen further than others, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.’ I agree with that,” said Hugh Hancock, indie developer behind Left-Hand Path.” “In the case of Left-Hand Path, those giants turn into horrific pus-monsters when you get them to half health.”

“Dark Souls changed everything in game design, and I felt strongly that VR needed an experience that captured the ‘Souls-like’ essence. Fans will recognize the atmospheric environment, subtle storytelling, and the ever punishing gameplay of the genre in Left-Hand Path. “

Left-Hand Path is a game where players must cast spells, perform ancient rituals, learn terrible truths, and try desperately not to die in this massive VR RPG.”

Players awaken in a cursed darkened castle with a tragic history full of never-before-seen creatures that are after your skin. Armed with arcane powers and a thirst for exploration, players must wield their newly-found powers and explore to find even more powerful spells and rituals, while trying to stay alive long enough to solve the mysteries of Well of All Rewards.

Gameplay Features

  • Full Video Game: Delve deep into a fleshed-out game experience – over 15 hours of single-player, VR-exclusive content.
  • Battle for Your Life: Fight lethal monsters that will test both your physical skills – duck, dodge, outmanoeuvre – and your mastery of magic.
  • Spell Casting: Learn arcane gestures to cast powerful spells. Examples include fling acid missiles, strike your foes using the lightning staff, rain meteors from the sky, conjure an army of screaming skulls, flaming boulders from the ground, and many more.
    • Master a complex ritual magic system based on historical Hermetic magic.
  • Expand Powers: Gather the fallen Husks of your foes to gain power and unlock new abilities.
  • Exploration: Choose whether to explore nooks and crannies of the world to discover secret truths and powers. Investigate eerie landscapes, and interact with other humans, including historical figures such as Lord Byron and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and strange creatures.
  • Locomotion: Supports both teleport and sliding.
  • Minimum Specs: Runs on any PC or gaming laptop that supports VR.

Left-Hand Path is not your traditional VR experience. This is a full 15 hour video game with immersive storyline written to sink you further into the game. This is not your grandma’s VR and this is not a seated experience. You will need room to cast spells, avoid enemies and their weapons, peak into secret passages, and bring hidden items into view. This is a room-scale game only. Prepare to die and try not to soil yourself,” said Hancock.

Witch Hunt PvP Halloween Mode Announced for Crossout

Thursday, October 19, 2017 — The Halloween season kicks off today in Crossout, the post-apocalyptic Action MMO from Targem Games and Gaijin Entertainment. From October 19 through November 9, players will be able to wage battle on the all-new night map Sector EX, compete in the new ‘Witch Hunt’ PvP mode, and earn ‘Hazardous Sweets’ that can be traded for exclusive seasonal vehicle decor.

In ‘Witch Hunt’, players have to attain festive Halloween Pumpalloons and keep them in their possession for as long as possible. All participants are equipped with an identical, unarmed vehicle and can steal the Pumpalloons by ramming the current possessor. Even without conventional weaponry, ‘Witch Hunt’ is anything but peaceful. All vehicles come equipped with six powerful Jet Boosters that provide an explosive burst of speed to ram your opponent when attempting to loosen an opponent’s grip on the precious Pumpalloons. There is no reason to hold back – in this mode, respawns with new vehicles are unlimited.

Halloween also brings with it the first night map added to Crossout – Sector EX – where survivors fight for control over an abandoned industrial complex located at the center of the map. While the defenders will be able to take positions on multiple floors of the complex, attackers can find their way inside through a maze of corridors and driveways. With darkness limiting the view, combat on Sector EX gets up close and personal – even for heavy trucks with long-range armament.

During the next three weeks, victories in all Crossout PvP modes and the completion of daily tasks will earn players an extra reward in the form of ‘Hazardous Sweets’. While not fit for human consumption, they are useful to craft ‘Fright Containers’ through which survivors can obtain exclusive decorative items for their vehicles, as well as paints, car horns and player avatars. Those survivors that place no importance on appearance can, of course, sell the ‘Hazardous Sweets’ for profit on the market.

More information about the new mode and the other Halloween specials are available on the official Crossout website here: https://crossout.net/
