Crossout Update to Bring the Knight Riders

Thursday, April 19, 2018 — The post-apocalyptic world of Crossout is again being visited by the ‘Knechte’, a nomadic faction of warriors roaming the wastelands. And as before, the industrious Teutons are offering their wares to those survivors proving their loyalty to the Order, including rare vehicle parts, completely new and exclusive weapons, as well as unique vehicle paints and decorations. The Knechte remain in the world of Crossout from April 19th to May 3rd, giving all players plenty of time to get the equipment.

To show their loyalty, courageous survivors can participate in a special PvP mission, earning golden ‘Talers’ as a reward – the only currency recognized by the Knechte. Accumulated Talers can be spent on the faction’s workbench to craft said equipment, which can then be installed on one’s own vehicle or sold for good profit on the in-game market.

The most impressive parts available are a selection of new weapons including five entirely new ones. Those may seem familiar at first, but all excel in their own regard as the Knechte, while roaming the wastelands, scavenged and improved other faction’s equipment by giving it their own individual touch. Especially interesting here is the single-shot ‘Fafnir’, an improved Junkbow shotgun with a speed-based stabilization system; the faster you go, the more accurate it becomes. The fast-firing ‘Aspect’ machine gun may offer less accuracy, but in return increases in damage output the hotter its barrel becomes. Truly medieval is the ‘Spike-1’, a huge crossbow capable of firing almost anything with lethal effect, be that strings, cables or other pieces of metal. Additionally, the faction’s workbench offers unique vehicle paints in the colors of the Order, new decorative items and a set of wheels in style of a medieval carriage.

Those items and weapons can only be constructed while the Knechte are visiting the wastelands of Crossout, so there’s little time to waste! Survivors need to hurry and earn and spend their Talers before the Knechte departure our familiar lands again, as those coins will otherwise be useless until their eventual return in the future. Moreso, thrifty survivors can craft additional items to later sell on the market to those who did not have the chance to participate.

More information about the event and the Knechte equipment obtainable during the event can be found here: https://crossout.net/en/news/523/current/

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Destruction Trailer

Here’s a new trailer for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries that shows off the game’s various destruction types that will affect the player during their quest for mercenary glory.

TYPES OF DESTRUCTION:

  • MECH DAMAGE: Mechs will take damage to various parts, including limbs – and depending on what has been damaged on your mech will vastly affect how you can perform in battle. If your leg is destroyed you may not have the stamina or speed to get back to your dropship in time, for example.
  • ENVIRONMENT DAMAGE: Environments can cause damage as much as an environment can absorb damage. If you are on a hot planet and running a larger/quick-to-overhead mech build, you will be able to deal far less damage to your enemies. Additionally, in both urban and natural environments you will have the ability to use buildings, certain rock formations and trees as cover but all of it is destructible – so if getting at enemy mechs means taking down a skyscraper, THEN BY ALL MEANS…
  • ENEMY AI DAMAGE: MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will feature numerous forms of enemy AI infantry and combat vehicles and helicopters designed to defend and protect bases, forts, mines or resources. Taking them out will require precision aim and a penchant for knowing which types of ammo and weaponry work best to deal with smaller but deadly and hostile units.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries launches this December. It is the first single-player MechWarrior game in more than two decades. Featuring co-op, full modding support and a campaign with replayability in mind, you will navigate your band of rogue pilots and crew into one of the more feared, respected and coveted lance’s (unit) in the Inner Sphere. Universal Studios Announces Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest Opening Date

Universal City, CA, April 17, 2018 – Universal Studios Hollywood channels its inner Master Shifu from DreamWorks Animations hit film, Kung Fu Panda, with today’s gift announcing Friday, June 15 as the official grand opening date of its all-new DreamWorks Theatre featuring the premier attraction, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest.”

Inspired by the global blockbuster franchise, the attraction will take guests on a thrilling journey that fuses captivating storytelling with state-of-the art visual effects for a highly engaging experience.

Created and produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Creative, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” recounts a plot filled story whereby on the morning of The Emperor’s Great Feast of Heroes, dragon warrior Po embarks on a wild and perilous mission to deliver the rare and precious Liquid of Limitless Power to the Palace, while enlisting guests to join him on the exciting adventure filled with raging rapids, river pirates, awesome magic and Kung Fu.

With cutting-edge technology at the forefront of the multi-sensory attraction, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” will introduce the first-ever integration of interior projection mapping designed to engulf guests in 180 degrees of immersive adventure. Developed by the innovative team at Universal Creative, this never-before-adapted technique will depict a series of immersive and visually dynamic scenic designs that will transform within the interior space and enhance the story. With detailing that is so precise, it will be near impossible to realize the projected imagery is a mere illusion.

Coupled with seven Christie 4K Boxer Cinema Projectors and 360 degree surround sound audio, sweeping physical effects from water to wind will empower guests to feel more like participants than spectators in the adrenaline-spiked adventure.

Featuring an original score by composer Germaine Franco, the storyline begins as guests enter the pre-show area of the theatre where they meet an array of DreamWorks characters who kick-off the attraction’s narrative. From there, guests will enter the main theatre, complete with new ultra-plush, fully articulated seats that pivot and swivel in tandem with the 180-degree action.

The newly constructed building that houses the DreamWorks Theatre is inspired by Mission revival architecture and harkens back to the Golden Age of Hollywood’s Art Deco period of the 1920s, including a box office ticket seller booth, reminiscent of the time period and staffed by a three-dimensional usher asleep on the job.

As guests navigate past the ticket booth, through the flourishing outdoor garden and into the theatre queue, they will encounter a series of 36 movie posters that pay homage to DreamWorks Animation films. Within the lobby, a selection of over 20 award statuettes will be on display, representing a sampling of the Golden Globe, Emmy, People’s Choice, Critic’s Choice, National Board of Review and Annie awards DreamWorks Animation has amassed from 2008 to 2015. A collection of original sculpted maquettes of the “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” characters will also be on display along with artifacts embodying magical powers that Po brought back from the Spirit Realm.

Unpublished Works of Gary Gygax to be Published

San Francisco, CA – April 17, 2018 – Fig, the only community publishing platform created by gamers for gamers that offers rewards and investment-based funding, and the Gygax Trust, who owns unpublished I.P. from Gary Gygax, the famed game Designer and Co-Creator of Dungeons & Dragon, are working to develop and publish video games based on his previously unpublished works that formed the inspiration for creating Dungeons & Dragons. Leveraging Fig’s community publishing platform, the Gygax Trust will work with Fig to find developers for Gary’s unpublished works, launch Fig campaigns, and publish titles. Additional information will be announced later this year.

“The worlds and characters to be discovered in my husband’s unpublished intellectual property are an incredibly important part of his legacy,” commented Gail Gygax.  “Therefore, it was paramount that we partner with an advanced and innovative platform such as Fig that gave us complete control of his creative vision.”

“As a gamer, I wanted to bring my father’s works to life in a medium that I enjoy. I’m looking forward to working with talented developers who love my father’s work as much as I do,” said Alex Gygax, CEO of Gygax Games.

“At Fig we offer our partners a full channel of services without forcing them to limit their creative endeavor, from helping them find the right developers for a project, to funding, and all the through the development cycle to launch. Gary’s unpublished works were some of his most cherished, shared only with his closest friends, and now we will help the Gygax Trust bring them to gamers,” said Justin Bailey, CEO, Fig.

Fig is democratizing video game publishing by inviting the community to financially support the development and release of games they love. Fans can back a game funding campaign on Fig to get exclusive rewards or invest in Fig Game Shares to earn returns based on game sales. Fig Game Shares are available to both accredited and non-accredited investors, in accordance with the SEC’s Regulation A+ (JOBS Act).

Each series of Fig Game Shares generate returns from the sales of individual titles. Investors can earn returns from revenue shares from Fig’s publishing operations, distribution arrangements, publisher and first party buyouts, and advances on distributions. Since its inception in August 2015, Fig has had four of the top 10 most funded video game campaigns: Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity 2 ($4.4M), Psychonauts 2 ($3.8M), Wasteland 3 ($3.1M) and Phoenix Point ($766K).

Three Fig games have already driven positive returns for Fig investors:  Fig investments related to Annapurna’s Outer Wilds (developed by Mobius Digital) more than doubled; sales from Kingdoms & Castles (developed by Lion Shield) tripled investments; and Trackless (developed by 12 East Games) and Solstice Chronicles: MIA (developed by Ironward) have generated sales, with Solstice Chronicles driving positive returns for Fig investors. In 2018, a dozen new releases will launch including the follow-up to Obsidian’s Game of the Year title, Pillars of Eternity 2, Julian Gollop’s Phoenix Point, Make Sail, Flash Point and Solo in Q2.

This is the Police 2 Gameplay Trailer

Vienna, Austria/Minsk, Belarus, April 13th, 2018: Back in the big city, Police Chief Jack Boyd, the protagonist of This Is the Police, was too deeply mired in bureaucracy to pay much attention to field tactics. But in Sharpwood, a cold frontier town where a young woman named Lilly Reed has recently become sheriff, you’ll need to take a new approach: you’ll have to take your cops under direct control during particularly difficult and dangerous missions.

In such situations, the game will switch to a new turn-based combat mode system. Gather a team of your finest police officers (or use your drunk and stupid bums – you don’t always have the luxury of being choosy!). Take up advantageous positions and don’t forget: the police are supposed to arrest suspects, not kill them. You’ll have to carefully study the terrain, constantly adapt your plans, stealthily approach your suspects and use non-lethal weapons and equipment. Unless, of course, you bartered them for a dozen cans of tuna. Sometimes gunfights are almost impossible to avoid, but be careful: This Is the Police 2 doesn’t have hit points. A single bullet can cost a cop their life.
