Six Flags Great Adventure Announces Hurricane Harbor Expansion

JACKSON, N.J. ─ January 24, 2019 ─ Six Flags Great Adventure, the World’s Ultimate Thrill Park, announces a second major addition for the 2019 season with the introduction of Calypso Springs. This massive activity pool is Six Flags Hurricane Harbor’s largest new attraction since the waterpark opened in 2000.

“Hurricane Harbor is an industry leader with best-in-class water slides and spectacular, interactive family attractions, and in 2019 we are excited to debut our largest new addition to date with Calypso Springs. This enormous, new pool, expansive lounge deck and dining area will offer the perfect place to enjoy signature, Six Flags summertime thrills,” said Six Flags Great Adventure President John Winkler.

The key features of Calypso Springs include:

Massive, 100,000-gallon beach entry-style pool;
Obelisk-style fountain with spontaneously erupting geyser;
Giant, open lounge deck with hundreds of chairs for sunbathing;
Oversized umbrellas for respite from the summer sun;
Charming Bimini shade covers available for rental; and
A new dining location.

Calypso Springs will be located between the Taak It Eez Ee Creek lazy river and Tornado water slide. It is slated to open summer 2019.

The 45-acre Hurricane Harbor waterpark also features a million-gallon wave pool, a half-mile lazy river, more than 25 high-speed thrill slides and two interactive children’s water playgrounds. All attractions are included with Hurricane Harbor park admission, Membership and Season Pass.

Cinemark and SPACES to Open Terminator VR Experience in San Jose

(NYSE: CNK), one of the world’s largest motion picture exhibitors, announced it is opening a brand-new, immersive virtual reality (VR) experience on February 8 at its Century 20 Oakridge and XD theatre in San Jose, CA at the Westfield Oakridge Shopping Center. As the newest SPACES location, it will feature multi-sensory VR technology blending 4D effects, 3D face scanning, physical interaction and social group play. The first Cinemark SPACES experience will be “Fight for the Future” based on “Terminator Salvation.” Upon entering Cinemark SPACES, guests will register and then scan their faces using SPACES’ unique, proprietary face scanning technology. Fans will be immersed in a free-roam, virtual reality battle with up to four people in a group.

Transforming locations into digital playgrounds, SPACES invites guests to engage their senses through virtual reality, haptic feedback and environmental effects that guests can reach out and touch. The moment they take off their headsets, guests immediately receive a cinematic video of their experience that they can take home and share on social media.

Moscow – Jan. 22, 2019 – Deep Silver and 4A Games today revealed the Metro Exodus Weapons Trailer. Packed with brand new footage and stunning tear-downs of the iconic hand-made guns of post-apocalyptic Russia, this trailer reveals the devastating arsenal of weapons used by Artyom and his band of Spartans as they journey across Russia.

The Metro series is well known for its distinctive firearms – for Metro Exodus, 4A Games completely overhauled the weapons system, ensuring each gun is mechanically functional, and can be customized in the field allowing for hundreds of tactical permutations. Additionally, weapons now need to be cleaned and maintained to prevent overheating and jamming, deepening Metro’s immersive gameplay.

In addition to the Weapons Trailer, Deep Silver will release a series of detailed videos during the coming weeks that take a deeper dive into the four main weapon classes – Handguns, Shotguns, Rifles and Special Weapons. These videos will give a glimpse at just a fraction of the possible weapon combinations players will be able to scavenge and customize in the Russian wastelands.

Finally, White Breath is the new skill that when fired, creates a cloud of hallucinogenic vapor on impact, poisoning enemies to fight against one another.

As part of the update, tombs from the main campaign, “Judge’s Gaze,” “Underworld Gate,” “Howling Caves”, “Path of Battle,” and “Temple of the Sun” are all now playable in Score Attack and Time Attack modes.

STOCKHOLM – Jan. 22, 2019 – Paradox Interactive, a publisher and developer of games that explore new territory, and Tantalus Media have announced that Stellaris: Console Edition will be launching on February 26, 2019 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Stellaris: Console Edition, an adaptation of the Paradox Development Studio game Stellaris released in 2016, will be the first Grand Strategy Game on consoles and will feature the beloved Stellaris gameplay, including exploration of the depths of space, diplomatic (or hostile) relations with alien races, and interplanetary empire management over the course of hundreds of years. Walnut Creek, CA, January 21, 2019 — Publisher Deep Silver and developer Nine Dots have released a new Developer’s Diary video for their hardcore fantasy adventure OUTWARD. This video showcases the variety and depth of not only the game’s environment, but also the mechanics of an undervalued and iconic piece of gear: the backpack.

OUTWARD is a hardcore RPG that tempers fantasy elements with realism. The player must survive against natural dangers like hunger, disease, and the elements as well as monsters and brigands. This is where the backpack comes in; without the limitless inventory seen in other RPGs how will the player surpass the challenges that enemies and the environment present to them? The larger your backpack, the more prepared you can be. However, carrying too much encumbering equipment will leave you vulnerable in a surprise attack. Which pack you carry can be just as much a deciding factor as the weapon you bring into battle and your chosen fighting style.

Additionally, the player’s map-reading skills will be put to the test. Exploring the corners of Aurai with nothing but a backpack provides a thrilling experience that can be described as the peak of adventuring! You decide if you want to travel light or not, but you will have to make sure you are able to adapt to your environment. Aurai has four distinct regions that you will need to navigate with the help of your trusty compass, your map, and your ability to locate landmarks. The game will not do that for you. Not to worry, though. With preparation, you will be able to overcome most challenges that OUTWARD will throw at you.

Vortiger Coming to For Honor Year 3 Season 1

SAN FRANCISCO — January 16, 2019 — Today, Ubisoft announced that the Black Prior, a new Dark Hero, will be joining the Knight Faction in For Honor® with the launch of Year 3, Season 1 on January 31 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices and Windows PC. This Season officially kicks off Year 3, which will bring four new Heroes, new maps, seasonal events and gameplay updates along the way.

The Black Priors are heavy heroes who wield a large kite shield and longsword. These dark agents fight alongside the Knights but are free from the code of chivalry. Whatever victory’s cost, the Black Priors will pay the price. Once Apollyon’s faithful warriors, today they fight with their leader, Vortiger, reinventing their legacy and bringing chaos to the battlefield. The Black Prior will be immediately playable for all owners of the Year 3 pass on January 31, while all other players will be able to unlock the Black Prior on February 7 for 15,000 Steel.

In line with the Hero improvements introduced during the past year, Year 3, Season 1 will introduce additional Hero updates to improve the roster, focusing on the Shugoki, Warlord and Peacekeeper. Additionally, a new Dominion map, “Harbor”, will be added free for all For Honor players on January 31. “Harbor” is a port town on the shores of Lake Eitrivatnen where the Black Priors once helped the Knights defend against their enemies. Ruthless strategies helped them win battles with impossible odds. The port still holds immense strategic value for its location and continues to be a highly contested area.

January 16, 2019 – Other Ocean Interactive confirmed its online-multiplayer game of teamwork and betrayal, Project Winter, will launch in Early Access, February 7, 2019. Project Winter is an 8-person, multiplayer game focused on social deception and survival where players are randomly assigned to the role of Traitor or Survivor. Players must gather resources, repair structures, and brave the wilderness together – but beware of traitors within the group who will be steadily gaining strength as the match progresses and whose only goal is to stop the survivors by any (and often hilarious) means necessary. Communication and teamwork are essential to the survivors’ ultimate goal of escape.

Survive & Escape in this 8-person multiplayer game of Teamwork & Betrayal.
Escape to Survive – As a survivor among a group of strangers, you will have to collect resources, battle the elements and complete a series of tasks to call in one of several rescue vehicles.
Hidden Roles – Among the group of survivors lurk hidden traitors. The traitors are known to each other but not the survivors. Their goal is to stop the survivors from escaping without being identified and killed.
Teamwork – Survivors cannot escape unless they work together. Players who wander off on their own will have difficulty surviving the elements, can fall victim to hostile wildlife, or become easy targets for the traitors.
Communication – There are several ways to communicate with other players, including proximity-based voice chat, private voice chat radio channels, text chat, and emotes – communication is vital if the survivors have any hope of completing their tasks and defending against the traitors.
Betrayal & Deception – The traitors are outnumbered and weak when the game begins, they may infiltrate the survivors and earn their trust while they build up their strength. Survivors can never be 100% sure of who to trust. The traitors can take advantage of this by spreading lies and setting the survivors against each other.
