Grim Dawn: Fangs of Asterkarn Release Announcement

Today, Crate is excited to reveal that Fangs of Asterkarn, the third and final expansion to the highly acclaimed ARPG Grim Dawn, launches July 23rd, 2026, on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store.

Crate previously declared that Grim Dawn would not go out with a bang, but “with a tremendous roar,” and Fangs of Asterkarn does just that. Fangs is a bold exclamation, punctuating the ARPG’s enduring and engaging 10+ year life with the largest expansion yet, including an all-new region double the size of previous expansions, the shapeshifting Berserker mastery, and the new Ascendant mode, which turns the entire campaign into an endgame proving ground that will challenge even the most refined builds.

The journey into the land of the Asterkarn will span over 6 square kilometers, which is 190% as big as Ashes of Malmouth and 250% as large as Forgotten Gods, and features new environments that span from snowy peaks to breathtaking hot springs. These new environments are also riddled with secrets to uncover and hundreds of new treasures, such as New Epic items, unique Legendary items, and Monster Infrequents.

As players tackle this new chapter and purge the corruption tainting the land of Asterkarn, they will have new options further deepening Grim Dawn’s acclaimed ARPG gameplay. The 10th Mastery, Berserker, delivers a shapeshifting force of destruction that brings the dual-class combination options to a staggering 45, and the new potion customization system gives players a fresh way to mold their builds to their own playstyle. That’s only scratching the surface…

  • Conquer the Ascendant Game Mode – turn the campaign world into a challenge worthy of ascendant demigods, with every dungeon and boss encounter sure to test your limits. Ascend your equipment to attain incredible new power.
  • A Transformative 10th Mastery – become a frenzied force of destruction upon the battlefield capable of shapeshifting into vicious beastlike forms.
  • Potion Customization – alter your potions to suit your playstyle. Turn them into powerful tonics that restore your character’s vitality, or have them provide powerful unique buffs and effects.
  • Affix Transmutation – reroll your rare and magic items to perfect your equipment.
  • The Shattered Realm Grows – discover new regions and boss arenas being slowly consumed within the Shattered Realm’s unstable infinity.
  • Awaken Epic Items – unleash the true potential of many Epic items to turn them into powerful implements worthy of Legends!
  • Three Factions – parlay with the Kurn tribes and aid them in rekindling old alliances as you contend with the darker side of their bloody history. Learn ancient secrets from an unusual new ally.
  • Tackle New Foes – test your mettle against new super bosses and additional Nemesis bosses for old factions. Five new hero monster archetypes populate the entirety of Cairn alongside to deliver new twists to old content.
  • Two New Rogue-Like Dungeons – two new roguelike dungeons will be introduced with free content updates for the Fangs of Asterkarn expansion.
  • Crucible Expanded – delve deeper into the Crucible’s challenges with thirty additional waves (requires the Crucible DLC).

Necrophosis: Full Consciousness Out Now

PQube and Dragonis Games are proud to announce that Necrophosis: Full Consciousness is available now on PlayStation® 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The complete edition brings Necrophosis to console for the first time, alongside the newly released Subconsciousness DLC.

Players can now step into the decaying world of Necrophosis, where the surrealist visions of Zdzisław Beksiński meet the cosmic dread of H.P. Lovecraft. Built around exploration, puzzle-solving and confronting the unknown across other dimensions, Necrophosis: Full Consciousness delivers an experience unlike anything else in the genre.

The launch trailer unveils new grotesque landscapes from Necrophosis alongside previously unseen footage from the Subconsciousness DLC.

Players begin as Consciousness, trapped within a vessel devoid of memory, exploring cursed landscapes to unravel fragments of the truth. The journey then descends into Subconsciousness, included in full in the console edition, navigating darker realms, encountering new entities and uncovering truths that Consciousness alone could never reach.

The game features several stunning and distant realms of death in a world consumed by Necrophosis. Players have the chance to explore the macabre landscapes while diving deeper into the echoes of the dying cosmos, where narrative poems enhance the enigmatic backstory and players engage with ancient gods and Lovecraftian-inspired entities, including Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Khnum and the Yellow King.

Each environment features minimalist, droning ambience layered with whispers, distant groans and echoing cryptic voices that heighten tension and unease. Face gods, eldritch entities and Lovecraftian beings who have taken refuge here, learning their histories and the horrors they embody. Return to the realm of death in the Necrophosis: Subconsciousness expansion, exploring new landscapes, entities and stories as your journey leads ever deeper.

Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game Original Soundtrack Now Streaming

The original soundtrack to Supermassive Games’ cinematic interactive drama / survival horror game Directive 8020 by 2-time BAFTA award-winning composer Jason Graves (The Dark Pictures Anthology, Dead Space, Tomb Raider, Until Dawn) is now streaming on all major music platforms here.

Game Synopsis:

Earth is dying and humanity is running out of time. 12 light years from home, Tau Ceti f offers a small sliver of hope. When the colony ship Cassiopeia crash lands on the planet, its crew soon realize they are far from being alone. In space, death takes many forms. Hunted by an alien organism capable of mimicking its prey, the crew of the Cassiopeia must outwit their pursuers to make it home alive. To help them survive, the choices you make are more important than ever! Evade real-time threats where any step could be your last. Decide who to trust in a world where anyone could be a deadly alien impostor. Featuring Hollywood actress, Lashana Lynch (Bob Marley: One Love, The Woman King) as the ground-breaking astronaut, ‘Young’, Directive 2020 is an immersive cinematic horror experience that blends intense survival gameplay with a branching narrative storyline. IN SPACE, DEATH TAKES MANY FORMS.

Soundtrack notes from composer Jason Graves:

“I composed a simple, three-note motif that is featured throughout the ship’s corridors in the guise of overly friendly, corporate music. It plays anytime you see the company logo pop up on screen.

‘Welcome To The Corinth Family’ is the first track on the album, and it begins and ends with the corporate, three note ID. Those same three notes are constantly playing in the background of the cue as well in different variations.

All of the sound design and UI bleeps and bloops were purposely tuned to the same key as this corporate music, resulting in a peaceful, tranquil feeling and harmony between the ship and its crew. Until things begin to go awry…then the entire tuning of the ship’s interior and UI sounds are disjunct and wrong in every possible way.

The true corporate intentions are revealed in track two, ‘Little Star,’ which has the same three notes spread over a constantly evolving, mysterious bed or pulsing orchestra and synth sounds. This same approach is used in chapter openings throughout the game, as a “previously on…” kind of tag.

I also introduce the main thematic concept of the protagonist – a shape-shifting creature of unknown origin. Just like the creature, notes bend and shift without any proper logic or predictability. These constantly changing, bending notes are featured throughout the entire score. Sometimes they feel slightly mysterious, other times completely off.

There’s also a theme for Brianne Young. ‘Young Eyes Open’ underscores many of the conversations and experiences you see through her eyes, beginning with awakening from hypersleep. It’s mostly hopeful with a tinge of the bending notes, hinting at darker possibilities in the future.

This same theme is implemented into a jazz combo with the track ‘Young At Heart,’ which underscores a ‘Two Days Before Launch’ flashback. It’s an excuse to have some fun and lean into something a bit unexpected, with some of the original orchestra and bending synth sounds leaking into the acoustic trio from time to time.”

Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy Introduces Aeldari Corsair Laarthyr Cairnareth

Today, Owlcat Games has published a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, introducing the self-sufficient and arrogant Aeldari Corsair Laarthyr Cairnareth. With his own path to follow, the new character is set to make a valuable addition to the player’s warband for those who want to risk being branded a radical for collaborating with xenos.

Laarthyr is an Anrathe, an Aeldari who was once bound to his Craftworld but abandoned rigid Asuryani tradition for freedom among the stars. But now he has left even that life behind, embarking alone on a mission that borders on the suicidal. Being a Way Seeker — an Aeldari psyker with the ability to navigate the Webway and guide his kin’s souls to the safety of the spirit stones — is both a blessing and a danger on his mission. It leads him to an Imperium world teeming with pathetic and narrow-minded mon-keigh, but teaming up with one of the Inquisition’s acolytes might be an arrangement that benefits both parties.

Laarthyr has valuable insights into the mysteries of the Warp, as well as the culture and psychology of xenos. In combat, he is a deadly close-quarters fighter who manipulates the warp to his advantage and hits his enemies’ weak points with his dual swords. He can also extend his insights and protection to his comrades-in-arms. All of these tools make him a valuable asset, especially if the acolyte dares recruit him at the risk of being branded a radical.

Fans can recruit Laarthyr in the current Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy closed beta, available to everyone who purchased one of the Founder’s packs on the website.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy will launch on Windows PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) and consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S).
