Cologne/Stockholm — DreamHack, the premier gaming lifestyle festival, and ESL, the world’s largest esports company, today announced a three-year media deal with Hungarian esports outlet, Esport1 — the partnership began already in January 2019 and has now been extended for another three years, lasting until March 2023. Within the framework of the mutual agreement, Esport1 has acquired the rights to distribute, promote and broadcast the licensed content of all ESL Pro Tour stops for Counter Strike: Global Offensive via their channels, owning the exclusive right to broadcast in Hungarian language.

As part of the deal, all tournaments within ESL Pro Tour for CS:GO — including the ESL Pro League, ESL One, Intel® Extreme Masters, DreamHack Masters, and DreamHack Open — will be broadcast in Hungarian language via respective distribution channels that include all Esport1 digital channels. The deal covers the exclusive rights for Esport1 to bring finest CS:GO gameplay to the Hungarian fans in Hungarian.

“There has never been a more exciting time in esports than now,” said DreamHack Co-CEO Roger Lodewick. “All of us at DreamHack are thrilled to be able to offer content to our fans in Hungary, in their native language, thanks to this collaboration with Esport1. We look forward to sharing our passion for esports with these fans.”

“We are delighted to expand our portfolio and secure a long-term agreement with Esport1,” says Frank Uddo, Senior Vice President Global Media at ESL. “Esport1 is a leader in the esports media landscape in Hungary and we are excited to build on the great foundation that has already been established.”

“Esport1.hu and ESL have a strong working relationship dating back multiple years now. We are happy to take our partnership to the next level, by including DreamHack and establishing a long-term partnership. Together with Dreamhack and ESL, we’ll bring top quality CS:GO esports broadcasts to Hungary, exclusively in Hungarian language, on multiple digital platforms, including our latest project, a digital esport TV on mindiGO platform with Antenna Hungária called EsportGuru. Our goal is to maintain our leading position in the Hungarian esports market, and this partnership will help us in doing so”, adds Balázs György Biró, Head of Communications of Esport1.
