HBO has unveiled the official second teaser for the upcoming television adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, setting the eight-episode debut season to premiere Christmas 2026 on HBO and HBO Max.
The inaugural season traces Harry’s journey from life under the stairs with his dismissive Aunt Petunia to the enchanted halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After receiving his unexpected letter of admission, Harry is thrust into a hidden realm of magic, friendship, and looming danger, ultimately forcing him to confront dark secrets and the most feared wizard of all time.
The production features a massive ensemble cast bringing the wizarding world back to the screen:
- The Students: Dominic McLaughlin stars as Harry Potter, flanked by Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The student body includes Lox Pratt (Draco Malfoy), Rory Wilmot (Neville Longbottom), Leo Earley (Seamus Finnigan), Elijah Oshin (Dean Thomas), Alessia Leoni (Parvati Patil), Sienna Moosah (Lavender Brown), Finn Stephens (Vincent Crabbe), and William Nash (Gregory Goyle).
- The Weasleys & Dursleys: The Weasley clan features Katherine Parkinson (Molly), Tristan Harland (Fred), Gabriel Harland (George), Ruari Spooner (Percy), and Gracie Cochrane (Ginny). Harry’s Muggle guardians are portrayed by Daniel Rigby (Vernon Dursley), Bel Powley (Petunia Dursley), and Amos Kitson (Dudley Dursley).
- Hogwarts Staff & Ministry Figures: John Lithgow steps in as Albus Dumbledore, alongside Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The faculty and staff are rounded out by Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick), Sirine Saba (Pomona Sprout), Luke Thallon (Quirinus Quirrell), Paul Whitehouse (Argus Filch), Richard Durden (Cuthbert Binns), Louise Brealey (Rolanda Hooch), and Bríd Brennan (Poppy Pomfrey). Bertie Carvel appears as Cornelius Fudge, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, and Leigh Gill as Griphook.
