In celebration of the 20th anniversary of her groundbreaking web series The Guild, creator and star of the pioneering digital comedy Felicia Day today announced the Kickstarter campaign behind the full‑length reunion movie will launch July 20, 2026. This campaign will be created by fans and for fans, bringing back the beloved “Knights of Good” for a new adventure and embracing the same community‑driven spirit that made the original series a hit.

Spanning six seasons and 70 episodes (plus three music videos), The Guild chronicled the real‑life and in‑game exploits of the “Knights of Good,” a mismatched online guild. It was one of the first creator‑owned web series to find mainstream success, working with fans and tapping into crowdfunding early on to continue creating new episodes, years before Kickstarter launched. The comedy focused on fantasy MMORPG players whose virtual escapades often spilled into their everyday lives, celebrating gaming, cosplay and fandom as vibrant communities rather than punchlines.
Felicia Day originally conceived the show in 2007 as a self‑funded passion project. When funding ran short after the first three episodes, she added a PayPal donation button on the show’s website, and the outpouring of support and fan contributions enabled her to complete the first season. The reunion movie aims to continue that legacy by reuniting Codex and the rest of the guild while honoring the series’ enduring fan community.
“When I set out to make The Guild, it was because I wanted to show that gamers and nerds like us can be the heroes of our own stories,” Day shared. “Hollywood didn’t really get what we were about, so I built the show myself. We made six seasons because our community proved there was an audience for it. With the twentieth anniversary approaching, we get to do it again: prove the studios wrong and have a blast doing it!”

The Guild proved that creator‑owned web series could be commercially and culturally successful, and its popularity earned it six Streamy Awards, four International Academy of Web Television Awards, a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of “The Net’s Best Serial Shows,” and even a place in the Smithsonian Institution’s collection with Codex’s costume. The Guild’s legacy continues with comic books, music videos, a stage musical adaptation that debuted readings in 2025 and 2026, and now a reunion movie.
The Kickstarter campaign will finance a feature‑length movie that reunites Codex (Felicia Day), Zaboo (Sandeep Parikh), Vork (Jeff Lewis), Tink (Amy Okuda), Clara (Robin Thorsen) and Bladezz (Vincent Caso), and supporters can receive updates as they’re announced. Fans can sign up now at watchtheguild.com to receive a launch‑day reminder and information about limited‑edition rewards, including a free launch pin when you back a physical tier. More specifics on reward tiers, production timelines and stretch goals will be released when the Kickstarter goes live on July 20.
