Creep L.A. Unveils HAUS OF CREEP for 2019 Spooky Season

Los Angeles, California (August 14, 2019) – Creep L.A., presented by Just Fix It Productions, welcomes all into the dark-heart of downtown with their fifth installment: HAUS OF CREEP. Since 2015, Creep L.A. has welcomed over 20,000 creeps through their doors and beginning on Friday the 13 this September, Creep L.A. will immerse guests in a bizarre and shocking world where reality and performance art blur together.

The roughly 75-minute multi-sensory exhibit brings guests into the world of Creep L.A., a darkly satirical and terrifying send-up of social media-driven culture. With the growing popularity of “grammable museums”, businesses and consumers are devouring art as a commodity. HAUS OF CREEP sets out to remind us that art is alive, and it can’t be restricted to a little square photo without dangerous consequences. HAUS guests will spend the hour roaming the avant-garde and nightmarish playground of over a dozen installations, witnessing grand and shocking scenes as well as intimate scares. Elaborate lighting and diverse and detailed environments create a surreal world in which guests may find themselves lost— unsure of where reality ends and the show begins. HAUS OF CREEP tells its story with a cast of 20 provocative characters and features a sultry lounge, small dark spaces, shadow plays, deranged puppet shows and innovative analog installations by MEDIA POLLUTION.

“This year marks our fifth year producing Creep L.A., a project that started out in its infancy as a self-funded production supported by friends and family, to what is now a collection of aberrant theatrical experiences that have hosted over 20,000 guests to date,” said Justin Fix, Founder of Creep L.A. and Just Fix It Productions. “Moving forward, we are excited to bring a myriad of new experiences throughout the year to Los Angeles and beyond.”

HAUS OF CREEP is directed by Justin Fix, written by Daniel Montgomery and choreographed by Stephanie Turek. Creep L.A. has been a high-end, buzz-worthy Los Angeles Halloween staple for the past five years, with fans like Will Smith, Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Olivia Wilde, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. HAUS OF CREEP is housed at the ROW DTLA, encompassing a 5,000 square foot gallery space in the historic downtown Arts District. The twisted 21+ experience will feature four shows a night with up to 50 guests per performance. Upon arrival, guests will enter a CREEP lounge where they can enjoy a selection of beer and wine throughout their stay at the HAUS OF CREEP. Proceeds from sales in the CREEP lounge will benefit Beautify Earth, a nonprofit putting an end to blighted walls and fixtures by empowering artists, encouraging social responsibility, and instilling community pride in impoverished or neglected communities, streets, walls and fixtures.

HAUS OF CREEP will run from September 13th through November 3rd on all weekends with some weeknights available.

Tickets are $69. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with shows beginning every 90 minutes.

Creative Labs Sound Blaster AE-7 Review

The last discrete Sound Blaster sound card to be released from Creative Labs was the Sound Blaster AE-5 about two years ago. We applauded its Xamp technology and on-board lighting system while lamenting the lack of Dolby Digital decoding. Now, the Sound Blaster AE-7 has been released and we were able to take a look at it during a two week period of gaming, music listening, and more. Will the new Sound Blaster AE-7 exceed its predecessor? Read on to find out.

Design/Construction

In terms the Sound Blaster AE-7’s design, it is very reminiscent of its little brother, the AE-5. The biggest difference in terms of design is that the Sound Blaster AE-7 lacks the “gaming flair”, instead opting for a more classy, dark gray and gunmetal color scheme. Gone is the “Pro-Gaming” subtitle on the side of the sound card as well as the RGB color lighting. The RGB lighting has been replaced by a heavenly white light. This looks like a much more “grown up” version of the AE-5. The back of the Sound Blaster AE-7 features the same number of ports as the Sound Blaster AE-5 did, including the speaker outputs, microphone input, and TOSLINK optical output jack.

In addition to the sound card itself, the Sound Blaster AE-7 sees the inclusion of the Audio Control Module (ACM) – something that I loved when it was included with the Sound Blaster ZxR series cards. It allows you easy access to connecting microphones and headphones (both of the 3.5mm and 6.5mm varieties) to your sound card. The ACM is robust and well-constructed. I can’t tell you how many times I accidentally knocked the ACM off my desk (I’m clumsy) and the thing took no damage from its fall to the floor.

Performance

The biggest issue we had with Creative Labs Sound Blaster AE-5 was the lack of Dolby decoding technologies. Thankfully, the Sound Blaster AE-7 remedies this situation with the inclusion of both Dolby Digital Live and DTS encoding! The sound quality of the Sound Blaster AE-7 is outstanding. I played numerous titles during my testing of the card and was consistently impressed – both while listening to the audio through my desktop speaker system as well as gaming headphones. By the way – switching from speaker to headphones is extremely simple thanks to the Audio Control Module. I love being able to just plug my headphones into it and immediate divert the sound. Also, the large volume wheel on the ACM makes it super easy to fine tune the audio load on my ears. On my games roster was the new space combat sim, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw as well as older favorites like DCS: A-10C Warthog and Fallout 4. Additionally, I downloaded some high-resolution audio files to test out the Sound Blaster AE-7’s sound reproduction. In my estimation, this is the best sound card yet from Creative Labs (bearing in mind I have not looked at the AE-7’s even bigger sibling, the AE-9).

The Sound Blaster AE-7 still supports Creative Labs Scout Mode and Crystal Voice features, which will help make your multiplayer gaming more efficient, and the AE-7 is fully integrated in the Sound Blaster Command software suite. Creative Labs continues to make the software suite more user friendly and I appreciated the easy method of changing the sound profile to simulate different environments and conditions.

Overall

The Creative Labs Sound Blaster AE-7 is an outstanding sound card that will provide great audio playback from both your games and movies alike. While the design has been made a bit more conservative, the inclusion of the improved DAC, Dolby decoding, audio control module, and Xamp more than make up for it. The Sound Blaster AE-7 retails for $229.99 Dollars, representing the mid-level price point between the Sound Blaster AE-5 ($169.99) and Sound Blaster AE-9 ($349.99). While this may seem expensive, the quality and feature set of the Sound Blaster AE-7 makes it well worth the price of admission.

House of 1000 Corpses Coming to Halloween Horror Nights

Universal City, CA, Orlando, Fla., August 14, 2019 – Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort take guests on a relentless tour through multi-platinum recording artist and filmmaker Rob Zombie’s twisted “House of 1000 Corpses,” inspired by Lionsgate’s 2003 cult classic horror film, as part of this year’s “Halloween Horror Nights” event, beginning in September.

The terrifying “House of 1000 Corpses” mazes bring to life the movie’s offbeat roadside tourist attraction, Captain Spaulding’s Museum of Monsters and Madmen, and introduces guests to some of the country’s most infamous serial killers, including Dr. Satan, a demented surgeon who has gone mad.

Without a moment to catch their breath, guests will venture to the chaotic home of the Firefly family, a sadistic clan of psychotic killers, where the psychosis deepens and the depraved thrive. It is a chilling journey into the netherworld of terror that weaves its way through a cavernous network of dark tunnels within the bowels of the house. Populated by the degenerate victims of Dr. Satan’s debauched operations, legions of tortured creatures shuffle about as Dr. Satan continues his twisted medical practice, eagerly awaiting a new installment of victims.

For more than 25 years, guests from around the world have visited “Halloween Horror Nights” to become victims inside their own horror film. The terror bleeds to the streets of the parks with highly-themed scare zones, littered with menacing scare-actors lunging from every darkened corner to torment, terrify and scare “Halloween Horror Nights” guests.

Submarines are Coming to World of Warships

August, 14 2019 – Developer and publisher Wargaming today confirmed they’re working on adding submarines as playable vessels in World of Warships, the premier online naval combat game. Closed testing will begin in a couple of weeks and as usual players participating in the World of Warships Supertest program will be the first to try out and provide feedback on the new vehicle class.

The initial test phase will feature four playable submarines representing the US Navy and the German Kriegsmarine. More details about submarine models and their unique features will be revealed at Gamescom 2019.

The fundamental nature of naval warfare shifted drastically with the coming of advanced submarines and the new tactics they introduced. Going below sea level will open a completely new dimension for players, who have been asking for this iconic class of ships since the game was launched in 2015. Right now, World of Warships offers more than 300 historical warships to play with, divided into four different ship classes – destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers.

“World of Warships has continually evolved with new gameplay mechanics, innovative game modes and rich content since its release,” said Artur Plociennik, Executive Producer of World of Warships. “The uniqueness of submarines poses very interesting design challenges for our team, which we hope to be able to turn into novel new gameplay tactics for our players and to make online naval combat more exciting than ever before. We are always looking for new ways to make our audience happy and we’re aiming to fulfill every player’s fantasy of WW2 submarine operations.”

Stay in touch with World of Warships to find out more as we progress through development and release more details on this upcoming content.

Daymare: 1998 Meet Sam Story Trailer

August 14, 2019 – Daymare: 1998 recreates the atmosphere of the most beloved works from the end of the millennium and places you in the middle of a familiar yet fresh story. The plot unfolds through the eyes of multiple characters, putting players in the shoes of different personalities that will guide them through their theories and doubts about the situation. Thanks to backtracking, ammo management, collectible lore items, environmental puzzles, and the overall level of difficulty, players can rewind a couple of decades to where, in their first real daymare, they will be chilled to the bone.

The nightmare lives in the Release Date Announcement Trailer of Daymare: 1998. Check it out here and meet Sam, the second of three main characters in the game.

Unlike Liev, who was introduced in the previous trailer, Sam is what you’d call “a regular guy”. He likes his neighbors and has no personal aspirations to attain riches or fame. But he is reliable and does what needs to be done. Sam’s also a respected citizen of Keen Sight, partially a result of his job as Forest Ranger. Although, there is a limit to how much credit you can take for staring off into the horizon and strolling through the woods to make sure the trees are still standing.

Nevertheless, Sam’s a loving husband who adores his wife. If it weren’t for his condition and his need to manage it with pills, he’d probably be the happiest guy on Earth. But that isn’t what he was meant to be. Not after he crosses paths with H.A.D.E.S. Sam was meant for something more. Not for himself, not even for the woman he loves, but for the whole city of Keen Sight.

Invader Studios, Destructive Creations and All in! Games are three partners in crime that have the horrifying pleasure of bringing Daymare: 1998 to your PCs. Take a look at the FREE, all-new demo on Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/842100/Daymare_1998/) and catch a glimpse of what’s lurking in a seemingly inconspicuous little town, overrun by terrifying creatures that once inhabited the area as ordinary people.
